This is may be the best update I have every played to any game, but these unskippable dialogues take away from the experience. The first few times I watched them and showed my friends I was smiling ear to ear, but now they seem like a nuasance. Two stand out. The dialogue when you first enter shouldn’t make you wait and second the opening cutscene to world 1 zone 1. These should be skippable (at least after you have seen it once). The zone 1 cutscene could be like dungeons where they are skippable. Give people the option to watch cutscenes, forcing them on people can tire out your players. Thank you if anyone reads this and I am sorry if anyone has already made this post.
When gems were introduced, they seemed like a good idea. Obtain things that you normally pay for by using in-game money. That was great for the first few days of launch, but then the prices for gems skyrocketed. Now 100 gems, which get you next to nothing, are 1.7 gold. How come the prices on these things go up. Shouldn’t it remain the same so say that I was saving up for dyes or minipets, but when I go to go buy them, the price has shot up again. The same gems deals that lower the cost of items in the gem store are kind of worthless if the price of the gems themselves don’t go down. You are also allowing people to get almost 10 gold for paying $10. That is ridiculous if the exchange rate is equal both ways. Gem prices need a steady value so they don’t cater to those that are rich already and only get richer and became accessible to the everyday player.
One of the many great innovations in gw1 from gw2 was the dye system. When I was reading about the dyes I was delighted to see so many varieties. I’m just sad that for things like abyss dye or white dye (things that are very popular) are soul bound. Along with the inflation of the marketplace, gems, and everything else dye prices keep going up and I don’t think that a player should have to earn the dye over and over again. My midnight ice dye cost me 6 gold. That may not be a lot to some players, but that was all the money I had at the time. I was happy my warrior had black armor, but then I saw that my other characters didn’t have access to this. I just think that this option would allow people to have more fun and vary their characters when they have more options.
Would it be possible to add subcategories under armor so we view things that we are actually looking for. I don’t need to see light or medium armor when I have armor, helm, and lvl 80 under my categories. It would provide less pages to go through and would streamline the marketplace. You could do it by armor type or even by profession!
