…but I had to kill her.
Winner!
No. But you get 2 innerwebs for being creative!
I tried. I really did. I read the posts and all the point-counterpoint. I thought about it. I adjusted. I changed my builds. I pondered it. I checked in with my guildies. I put time into learning the new stuff. I read more detailed posts with way more analysis than I can offer. I am a simple man with simple tastes. I think I can summarize what’s going on with WvW:
The Daily Show used to be funny, now it’s not.
WvW in Guild Wars 2 used to be fun, now it’s not.
Sad Panda.
I hope it becomes fun again, I really do.
Bonus points if you can complete the subject line properly.
Last story mission is VERY BUGGED [Spoilers]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

1. Canach bugged during the last phase. Die and restart didn’t help.
2. Pale Tree bugged during last phase. It dissappeared and her minions began to spawn infinitely and run towards the center of the room. Die and restart didn’t help
Yeah, I had both of these last night. On #1 the game actually crashed and I couldn’t log back in for about 10 minutes. Very frustrating— I gave up.
Follow up to my original post:
1. Still not fun.
2. I’ve transitioned from annoyed to angry.
3. Instead of regularly running WvW, I’m only going there for dailies if I need to until next week.
Anet— honestly, I spent a bunch of badges on golems and did some rushes. Wasn’t fun and nobody else thought it was fun. It’s a monkey/football cluster. Boo.
I’m hoping this mess is over next week. There are a lot of other games out there that are umm… fun.
Yeah, I don’t complain generally but my impression right now is that this is:
1. Not fun.
2. Annoying as hell.
3. Encouraging people to complain loudly.
4. Discouraging new players from playing WvW.
I am disappoint.
Same here, tried it twice on 2 different days.
If you are planning on OCing that CPU, liquid is good. However, the Pentium produces less heat overall than the i5/i7 CPUs, so air is still good. GPU wise, the R5 is the lowest end of the spectrum. You will get ok performance on low / low-med graphics.
As stated above by Razzafrazza, GW2 has crappy multi-core functionality at this time. It focuses on single thread instructions, 3 to be exact. So a dual core is ok. I would suggest going with a slightly better GPU, at least an r7 or even an r9 260×. Also I would recommend, just for safety, at least a 600w PSU. 400w would cut too close overall from what I can see.
Another thing is if you do not want to build a PC yourself, but are looking for something in a $400-600 range, some of the ‘named’ systems are pretty decent these days.
FYI, I’m running an R9 270×. Still pretty good price/performance ratio.
Sigh… people generally don’t know as much about computer architecture as they think they do. I can speak to the CPU/Mobo choice. I am running a very similar rig with an Asus Z97 mobo and the same processor. I am locked at 60fps just about everything I do in the game (yes, I do blob wars in WvW). Here’s the trick: That processor is beastly if you overclock it and know what you’re doing. I am running stable at 4.5Ghz on air cooling. GW2 is not optimized to multi-threading, what you need is a very strong single-thread proc, and this one is very good. Also, with your chipset, you can upgrade to an i7 or whatever in the future. That’s a pretty good budget rig.
Please rebuild, I’m really getting tired of a destroyed hub. It was cool when it happened, and it was cool for a few months after, but 8 months of rubble is very annoying. Please give us a significantly rebuild LA for Wintersday!
