I was getting some cool armor for the main story but I ended up salvaging bits of it without thinking, and now I’m kind of upset about it. Can I still get this armor elsewhere? Is this appearance present in other suits? Or will I have to make a whole new character to run the quest line again? I really hope that’s not the case, because there’s no way I’d roll a character to run it again. It’s the vigil quest line in about the level 50s area, I got some pieces from doing various things like talking to the tree and defending the keep.

Anyone else experiencing this with the vigil? They just randomly like to take naps when fighting a superior enemy… I mean for the elite fighting force of Tyria they get awful tired. Are we just playing this mission during their nap time, or what?
I play hammer warrior and dual axe warrior. I love hammer warrior because I’m all about knocking people on their butts and all of my stuff is geared towards that build. It’s a load of fun, but it’s not about cranking out the dps.
The bear one is only 10 and I can go “Svanir’s returned!” over teamspeak everytime I shapeshift.
Actually I disagree. I admit that some of the dialogue isn’t that great but overall I think it’s pretty good. Tybalt Leftpaw (an Order of Whispers character) had some of the best dialogue I’ve seen in an MMO. If you came into this game expecting Mass Effect quality dialogue you’re going to be disappointed. But if you take it for what it is it’s good.
If by “Mass Effect quality dialogue,” you mean “dialogue that’s natural and believable,” then yeah, I did.
Nobody TALKS like this. That’s my point. It’s stilted and extremely campy and sounds like something you would expect from amateur hour at your local community theater.
For the record, it’s not the fault of the voice-actors, it’s the script that’s the problem.
Me and my group of friends all feel this way. We’re always laughing and going “Who talks like this!?” The only way I was able to describe it was that the dialogue all sounds like it was recorded at different times, in different rooms, and pieced together later after the fact. A lot of it feels disconnected and disjointed, like there’s no flow or transitions, and it definitely doesn’t feel real or realistic. Outstanding, positively great voice actors with terrible lines and writing. I mean I play a Norn female… Imagine the awful I have to put up with in my storyline.
It’s really sad because the rest of the game is great, but the dialogue and script are just poorly written. I feel bad saying it because I’m sure they put a lot of work in their writing and enjoyed writing a lot but it’s very, very B-movie quality. I skip through most of it or when I’m with friends we make our own on-the-fly dubs in funny voices.
For the record, folks, I wasn’t even expecting voice acting until I finally dove into the story and saw there was voice acting. I was like “WOW, COOL!” But then it devolved into jokes and high-pitched dubs of the voice overs by me and my crew.

Max an hour, probably only 30 minutes. Just don’t do the explorable mode, Asura option. It’s like licking a Howler monkey’s butthole, that’s how terrible it is. Their Dungeon team is AWFUL.
Dungeons are stupidly hard. So hard that we’ve resorted to glitching the AI and cheesing past hordes of silver elite super beasts just to complete the dungeon, and it takes us HOURS to complete it. And seriously, 25/30 tokens for completing a dungeon? Are you ****ing insane, Arenanet? Is your Dungeon team just that dumb?
We completed it last night. First thing we did was take off our clothes and sprint/stealth through the massive mobs. When we got to Frost we’d dive into the water and swim to the little cave that ends with an invisible wall. Eventually, all 5 of us got there. When we fought Frost one of us would stay back incase everyone died and come back to revive us when Frost leashed back after everyone’s death. After about 30 deaths and 50 silver in repairs we managed to kill all the golems and other BS that spawned and killed Frost, getting a whole whopping (lol, troll) 15 badges out of his death, bringing me to a total of 25 badges.
Arenanet, fix your broken dungeons, the reward is hardly worth the hair I lost that night. 2 hours of crap, about 50 F-words later, and all we got was 25 badges, some XP, and less money than we had before. Might as well just grind story mode because you get a lot more out of it, in less the time, for less the stress. Your dungeon team is terrible, plain and simple. Outstanding game, with a few minor bugs and a whole lot of fun and good times, and yet these dungeons are like the kid at your birthday party that sits in a corner and pouts because nobody wants to pay attention to him on your own birthday. It’s just plain bad. And this isn’t the only god awful dungeon- AC story mode was so horrendous and boring (a long, boring, tedious grind) I never want to even look in the direction the dungeon is on my map ever again.
I mean really, if you have to abuse crappy AI and locations that make you untouchable just to win a dungeon I don’t think Arenanet is doing it right, but that’s just me.
( Solution for Frost if you glitched/ran/stealthed past all the horde mobs) Anyone who’s doing this dungeon and wants an easy solution for beating Frost, have one of your friends with a ranged weapon sit on the dock ramp that leads into the water, and have another swim underneath him. When your friend goes down, revive them until their bar goes up and then stop so the bar goes back down. Keep doing this until your friend kills Frost with rocks- That’s how we did it and we won. At the last moment I had to jump up and do my whirly axe thing but eventually we stoned him to death and got our reward. Hope this solution helps anyone who fights Frost- it’s fool proof.

Anyone know what to do here?
Most of the dungeons are just stupidly hard- literally the only word I can come up with for 99% of the dungeons is “broken”. One in particular is the 1st choice in Caudacus’ Manor explorable. When you go down into the caves there’s literally 20 enemies in each room, most of which are silvers, and you can’t even pull one or two at a time- you need to pull all of them. When they get in range, which they always do, they kill you instantly because there’s 20 of them attacking you. We’ve had to cheese our way past it, but we’re wondering if either Arenanet’s dungeon team is just really bad, or we’re just not seeing some obvious method to getting past the 20-man silver elite mobs.
If there is something we’re missing, then I’d like to apologize to Arenanet’s dungeon team, if not, you guys are really, really bad at making dungeons fun, challenging, and playable all at the same time. Because there’s literally nothing within the realm of game mechanics that can get you through some of these explorables, and even if you can get through them, it takes HOURS of waypoint zerging in your underwear so you don’t pay repair costs.

This is probably the easiest MMO I’ve ever played.
