Race: Sylvari
Sex: Male
Profession: Guardian (Warrior as well)
Armor Set: Radiant shoulders and Heritage shoulders (among many others)
Description: On the two largest male sylvari body sizes, many non-cultural armor shoulders appear ridiculously large, to the point of being nonsensical. To illustrate this, I’m using radiant armor (from achievement points) and heritage armor (from hall of monuments) as an example, since they’re easily accessible. I’m certain this is a problem on more than these armors though (CoE shoulders and barbaric shoulders come to mind).
1st Image: Sylvari guardian wearing Radiant Pauldrons. Notice that the shoulder pieces extend well into the chest area, covering up a good 1/2 of the chest. Also notice that the shoulder piece comes far off the shoulders, over an arm’s worth of “thickness” away.
2nd Image: This is a reference image of what the shoulders look like on a human instead. Note that they are much less intrusive.
3rd Image: This is a reference image of the same sylvari from the first image but with full cultural tier 2. Notice that the armor is relatively slimming and proportional.
4th Image: Same concept as image 1, but with Heritage Pauldrons. These shoulder pieces are so large… I don’t even know what to say.
5th Image: This image is to show that the heritage shoulders are out of proportion even with a complete set. The shoulders literally never touch the body, and is floating a good 4-5 inches off the shoulders.
6th Image: Same setup as the 5th image, but on a human instead. Note that the shoulders are much more in line with the whole set.
I know this is old, but I feel like it’s the little things that matter. Other miscellaneous notes is that this isn’t as big of a problem on the “default” sylvari size (first option), or any of the smaller options. I suspect that the scaling for the shoulder pieces is wildly out of control for the larger sylvari body types though.
I hope this gets fixed soon, or at least eventually.
