Won’t run GW2 on high or ultra. Weak graphics card.
This laptop is better IMO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230589
If you really wanted to play GW2 on high at 60FPS constantly, you’d have better luck looking at desktops
Hmmm I was looking at that earlier this week, but (I know this is a very PETTY issue) the weight just didn’t win me over! Those are really good, but it’s between 8-10 pounds! I can link one of the desktops I was also looking at and see if that works out.
Heyyooo! It’s been forever since I posted a thread on GW2 xD I ran into some money, and I was just wondering if this laptop here can run the game on high to ultra settings!

It has a FPS checker above it’s specs list, but I don’t have the ability to see if the level for this game. To me this laptop seems absolutely amazing in all honesty haha xD If you have any suggestions for a laptop between $1,000-,1,100, feel free to link!
Alright thanks both of you! At least I can play right? And maybe later I can upgrade everything so I can at least achieve medium settings. If I were to get, lets say the Ideapad, what would I need to upgrade? The graphics card or more?

Is there really any difference besides brand? And does brand actually matter towards the game performance? In the end what would be the best too lol or you could rank them I guess. 1 being the best. 3 being the worst out of all them. Thanks!!
I know I finally gave up on searching for upgrades lol! Thanks for the info though I’m just looking at a new laptop since there’s sales going on xD
Alright I’m trying to figure out what processor would best fit my computer and best meet the requirements ( to at least achieve an overall low to medium speed/setting in the game ) at a reasonable price. I already know that Intel processors can’t fit with an AMD motherboard so now I’m frantically trying to figure this out.
Currently I have an AMD V160 Processor 2.4 GHz that I’m trying to upgrade to, again, meet minimal or above so the requirements. If this helps, I have a Dell M5030 laptop. I’m trying to stay in between $200-300 USD dollars (well considering today is Black Friday and Cyber Monday is coming up maybe this is possible or even more possible to get it lower but still meet requirements.)
If there is any more specs I need to list, tell me which ones and please suggest any adequate processors!!
Hey there! I’ve been hearing a lot about Razer Game Booster, and I was wondering if it did any good for Guild Wars 2, such as with the FPS, overall speed/lag, and graphics. Does anyone have some first hand accounts with the Booster? Thanks
Sooo…what components will you need to buy, exactly? It’s kind of difficult to help you if we don’t know :/
I suppose you can reuse your case, your HDD,…maybe some of your RAM?
Well I said it at the very top lol a new processor, a RAM upgrade, and a new graphics card. Again, I’m hoping to achieve low to medium settings in the game.
You can actually push some things higher as well if you run at 1024..
You mean my resolution?
Well I haven’t bought any of the upgrades yet cause I want to make sure I’m making the right decision. My resolution is 1366 × 768, and that is great news! I honestly just want to make it to medium graphics/settings.
I read that Intel HD 4000 can handle the graphic demand as long as it’s low or medium settings, but I wanted to be sure and I wanted suggestions.
Oh my gosh apparently I was way too broad hahah! How is that a game killer? Yes, this is US dollars, my budget is gonna be a max of $400 or so (yeah ik it’s low but it’s really all I can say for now), and I just want to be able to have 30-40 Fps in the game with Medium graphics/settings, and I guess I can reuse my HDD ( I am so not tech savy), I don’t know if they are SATA, PC case?, no I do not need a specific operating system I have that down, and my resolution is 1366 × 768
Back again, (you’re probably going to be seeing me on forums a lot) I was just wondering what kind of settings I would get if I were to get:
Processor: Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5 3570K
Ram: 3+ GB
GPU: Integrated Intel HD 4000
I know that really isn’t much information, but I was just wanting a ball park of what settings I would be getting in the game. Would it be able to go up to medium resolution? I’ve also attached a picture of the comparison I’m doing. On the left is my current computer, yeah I know it’s horrible lol, and to the right is what I’m going to get. My budget can’t really go that high so if you do make a suggestion I hope, in terms of processors and GPU, it doesn’t go over $300-400.
The link didn’t work lol, and the computer I found to fit my needs was the Dell Inspiron 17R: http://microcenter.com/product/404293/Inspiron_17R_173_Laptop_Computer_-_Moon_Silver
Alright guys I already found the perfect laptop for me that will run Guild Wars 2 at low to medium settings! Thanks for the help
It’s honestly the highest I can go up to, but you’re right the holidays are near! Maybe if I have enough money left over somehow, I can get something a little bit higher than what I’m asking for lmfao!
I know this won’t help, and you probably already know this, but it probably has to do with The Lost Shores Patch today.
Oh ok! Well do you have any laptops you want to suggest? I still have a lot of time to decide which laptop to get to enjoy Guild Wars 2
Intel i5? So would i3 be great for low settings and Intel i5 for both low and medium settings? (As you can tell, I’m not an expert on computers at all haha)
Nice these are some pretty decent laptops for my needs Though I still want to see more suggestions before I actually decide which one hahaha! If you have anymore suggestions, great! If not, that’s completely fine I can wait.
Hey there! I hope this question goes under Tech Support but if not sorry! After my last post, I figured out that my computer doesn’t have the requirements to handle Guild Wars 2, and that I should either get upgrades or a new laptop. Soon after calculating a base line of sorts of how much it would cost for upgrades, it just made more sense to get a new laptop. The upgrades in total would go up to nearly $300-400 so a new laptop would be the best decision. Now to my question:
Does anyone have suggestions on laptops that can at least handle minimum to medium settings for Guild Wars 2? Right now I have a broad idea so sorry again lol. I’m thinking either a Dell, Toshiba, or even Apple laptops that are around $500-600 dollars. Windows 8 isn’t really needed since there is Window 7 and if there are other brands of laptops that you think is good enough, suggest those too! Maybe even your current laptop qualifies for what I want lol! The requirements for the game are as follows:
Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 or better
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI Radeon™ X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
25 GB available HDD space
Broadband Internet connection
Keyboard and mouse
Well too late for a refund! I bought the online download, and Gamefly doesn’t give refunds back. Gosh I’m such an idiot v.v well yeah I will just have to wait till I can get the upgrades I need for my computer before I can play. Thanks for the help guys!
My graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250. My computer, after a more extensive check, doesn’t mean three requirements! I don’t want to start the game because I’m afraid I will crash. My current computer specs right now are . . .
This is the current Guild Wars 2 Requirements:
Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 or better
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI Radeon™ X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
25 GB available HDD space
Broadband Internet connection
Keyboard and mouse
And I have:
Windows 7
AMD V160 Processor 2.40 Ghz
1.75 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250
218 GB available HDD space
I know why did I buy the game if I had these requirements! Well I thought I did that’s why . . .
anyways will http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html this actually work? If I use that with my specs
will I be able to play the game? Or should I just consider refunding? Please reply quick!
I already have a 64 bit OS, and how do I stop the unneeded processes and applications? I’ve seen this answer a lot before, but I just don’t know how to do that.
Hey there! This is literally my first post on forums so sorry if I mess up somehow. Ok so I checked over and over on the requirements for the game, and I was pretty sure I had everything down except for graphics. At the moment and now the graphics issue doesn’t bother me. Since I thought I had it all, I bought the game. Right after finishing the download it said I didn’t have 2GB of RAM. I actually have 1.75/2.00. At that moment,I felt HORRIBLE having my parents get the game, and now knowing this issue! Please cut me some slack and just help a gamer out.
My question now is there any way to get back that 0.25 of RAM space? I don’t know if I just need an upgrade or if there really is a way to have the space or potentially move it. As you can tell, I am not that much of an expert of computers. Please if anyone can kindly respond that would be great!
