This is an interesting idea, but I think the spiral staircase creates an issue. There needs to be a secondary path to the lord’s room.
From an attacker stand point, the single spiral staircase would mean pushing up into what is likely going to be a massive choke point guarded by 5-10 arrow carts. It greatly limits your options in terms of strategy, and would likely just turn a lot of zergs off to the prospect of trying to take the keep.
From a defender’s standpoint, again, you just need to seige the crap out of the chokepoint. However, I think the biggest problem would be if you die on the defender side during a push. If you die, you then either need to wait for the waypoint to open or try to push through the enemy zerg on the staircase. -_- Not many classes have the ability to make that push.
Yes.
Old borderlands were tested and molded thanks to three years of player feedback. They worked, and there was no reason to completely reinvent the wheel in this case. If you wanted to change the look, reskin the old map; bay could be an oasis, hills a ciff desert fortress, change terrain to sand dunes, ruins into vines to match the jungle dragon feel, etc.
Keep the scaling champs, keep the sentry tracking. Remove auto upgrades (the game shouldn’t be able to play itself). Maybe mix it up with new seige weapons or disablers). Creating a new wvw experience doesn’t need to be a huge endeavor, minor tweaks can go a long way.
On a side note, the new map is beautiful and clearly had a lot of work put into it. I would support putting it into a roation with the current EB or even replacing EoTM.
1) Reinstate the Alpine Borderlands. They were tested for three years, they work well. Maybe reskin them to a desert theme (bay can be an oasis, hills can be a cliff fortress, ruins can be modremoth vines, etc.). Rotate EB with the new map.
2) Remove auto-upgrade, or add a player element to it. The current system lets the game play itself. Which really hurts servers with little day/night presence. There should be some sort of player interaction required to initiate or complete upgrades. Personally, I would like the old system back, and maybe the addition or time limited items that drop off enemies that allow faster upgrades.
3) If new borderlands are here to stay, then remove the barriers closing off the map. The map should be open so we can navigate it without relative ease.
4) Again, if the new borderlands are here to stay, rethink the gimmicky shrine buffs and laser beams. They really offer nothing to the overall WvW experience beyond being obnoxious. I agree with SloRules, maybe offer the first one when outnumbered on the map.
5) Bring back the old borderlands and add a new seige disabler. I would propose a Waypoint Disabler. Mordremoth proved thst he could mess with the waypoints, so why can’t we tap into that power to temporarily break a keep waypoint?
You posted the first guild to take Lost Precipice, what about Gilded Hollow? Surely you have that information as well.
Hate—-the actual desert boarderlands map. The scale is too large with various barriers and walls restricting free movement around the zone. Couple this with the verticality of cliffs and caves and the map becomes difficult to navigate effectively. The complexity makes it difficult to locate enemy zergs snd even more difficult to engage in fights when necessary.
Removing some of the barriers and walls would do wonders for mobility.
Like—Sentry tracking and Lord buffs. It is great that sentries have a putrpose now, and add a new tactical strategy for those who want to be stealthy. I also personally enjoy that the lord scales much better and that some lords have special class abilities.
I think this is a great first step to pulling turret engis back into line. While currently the turrets aren’t impossible to kill, you often have to choose between focusing the engi or trying to destroy the turrets. In addition, the cc they offer makes fighting them very annoying. I think these two changes force turret engis to rethink their game play. Turret positioning will become a lot more important (though I agree the mid air turret thing should also be addressed).
My only suggetion would be to possibly look at slightly reducing the cooldown on turrets once they are destroyed. Considering turrets are the bread and butter of this build, if turrets can suddenly be bursted or cleaved down quickly it may really hurt the pvp viability of the build. Being able to redelpoy turrets more quickly than you can currently may help with that. It would then require the engineer to be more clever about using their evade and healing skills in order to re-set up.
Just a suggestion.

The Reading Rainbow Opening Song
I have tried and failed multiple times, so I am hoping someone with a little more musical talent can help me out.
Request: Dear You , from Higurashi
This also happens to be one of my favorite obscure anime songs, and I have been working on tabbing it for a bit now. Here is what I have come up with.
Please feel free to take and alter at your leisure. Also note, I was not able to tab the middle flute part as the range seems to go too high for the flute
If you find a way to do it, I would love to know!
