In the past you’d go toughness and vitality for survivability. This goes double I think for revenant since our heals are weaker due to the fact we get 2.
Maybe take a look at condi builds. Revenant is not that strong condi wise, but can pull his weight. Might work better for wvw.
Also expect (hopefully) big balance patches in the next weeks as arenanet rebalances classes. Things might change then.
Perhaps i should just run a berserker setup until we see some changes then. Seems to be the only safe bet right now.
Cheers for the response, Cyninja. I suppose it wouldn’t hurt sharing my thoughts on the builds and what my goal is. And i think you’re right, people are probably still in the testing stages. Still don’t mind what people think, even if it is early!
My goal is to endure fights and be able to get in and out of fights on demand. I want to be able to stay alive any situation. Which means i don’t care that much about burst.
I want mobility, speed and survivability.
I’m questioning how good Healing Power is, and how much is sufficient. So which setup would be better, marauder with weapons/trinkets that have a little Healing Power on them, or zealots.
No one wanna share their thoughts on this? :’(
So I’ve found and tweaked 3 different builds for WvW solo/smallman and guild blob roaming. They’re supposed to work for all three situations with minimal tweaks.
Not gonna go into detail about each build, i think they explain themselves. Would love to hear what you guys think and which one you believe would be the most efficient!

Feel free to post your builds as well!
Arvin, I’ve mainly been testing in PvP, but i did some PvE testing as well. I would record how much on average i would get hit with the current toughness on me. After around 1500 i noticed that the damage i was receiving wasn’t declining, but remaining pretty much the same across the board.
Red Falcon, I’m at 3800 armor right now, so i guess I’ve gone way past at this point.
I’m honestly disappointed, since i really wanted to play a more defensive warrior. Also, everyone running around 1-shotting each other gets boring after a while.
I hope we can get confirmation or at least some more info about toughness and how it works.
I’d like to discuss the stat “Toughness” in this game. And maybe even get some more information from the developers themselves.
Mainly, i would like to know how exactly stats are scaling and what the devs want us to be focusing on. So far it feels like power, precision, vitality, critical damage and condition damage are scaling fine. However, toughness seems to be either bugged or completely useless?
I’ve done testing with my warrior for over 3 weeks now, running different levels of toughness, and this is what i have noticed so far.
Going from 1000 to 1300 toughness shows improvement.
Going from 1300 to 1500 toughness shows improvement.
Going from 1500 to 1700 toughness shows no improvement.
Going from 1700 to 2000 toughness shows no improvement.
Going from 2000 to 2300 toughness shows no improvement.
Going from 2300 to 2500 toughness shows no improvement.
Is there a soft cap? It feels like you need a certain amount of toughness if you want to survive the big blows, but going beyond a point of toughness is completely useless.
With this in mind, i have to wonder if all out (read glasscannon) specs and builds are the only way to go here?
Remember, I’m talking stats here. Not defensive abilities that can either mitigate or completely avoid damage.
Thank you for the information, Massacrul, i appreciate it.
Thank you for the feedback, Lohengrin!
RoF sounds like exactly what we are looking for. We figured FoW is shrinking as well, seeing as they are in our match up but barely have any players in WvW at all to be noticed.
Our guild is located on Ruins of Surmia right now and we’ve been discussing moving to a new server for some more activity in both WvW and PvE.
We’ve been looking at RoF and Underworld and would like some more feedback from players there!
For instance
- Queue times to WvW
- PvE activity
- How well do you do in WvW
- Are you mainly english speaking
- How’s communication in /map and /team
- How have you been doing previously
But any information is welcome!
May i ask if this UI related bug is also affecting traits such as the warrior trait Blademaster (10% crit chance with a sword)?
