Hi all,
I hate to make a new topic, but nothing comes up when I search the forums, and I can’t tell how current the google search results are.
I played the game at launch for a few months and I’d like to get back into it. However, I want to switch to the server that a friend is on, which is full (jade quarry). Is this possible if I try during off hours, or am I wasting my time?
Agreed.
I quit playing 2 months after the game came out. I’m getting back into it, because I have time off work and the itch to play an mmorpg. I really want to like this game because it has such potential, but they need to do something about WvW. It’s boring and unrewarding. Same goes for sPvP.
Thank you Timgod, and Lord Titan. I appreciate the suggestions and will play around with these builds. I’ll also read through the guide. Looks like some good info.
I’m getting back into the game after a 6 month hiatus. I’ve got a level 80 Warrior that I’ve just about forgotten how to play.
Can anyone make a suggestion for a build for a zerg warrior? Primary focus for me is survivability and being able to tag enemies enough to get credit for the kill.
I’m also open to creating a whole new character class if anyone has a good idea for playing in a zerg and still being able to get kills, while having decent survival.
Thanks.
Agreed. I’ve been leaving when the scoreboard pops up.
It was thanks to you, SolarNova.
Just thought I’d post it here, incase others are having the same problem and think it’s just the game.
So, I got a new computer, and I am totally lag free now. I was thinking it was the game, or the servers and it turns out it was my computer, even though I thought I had a decent one. Got an i7 2700 overclocked to 4.3 and when I come on a zerg in WvW now, I have 0 lag, even when others are complaining about lag.
1) Is there a way to stop the auto join after a match? If not, when is the best time to leave the match? When the scoreboard pops up?
2) Is there a way to open the scoreboard aside from at the end of the match?
3) What’s the point of continuing fighting after the scoreboard pops up telling you the match is over?
I’m looking for a laid back guild that focuses on sPvP. One that is casual, and does not have rank or activity requirements.
Possible, but not practical, in my experience. It’s extremely slow, and not steady.
Well, I can finally play WvW, since getting myself a new computer. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time during the week to be active enough for a WvW guild. Therefore, I am looking for a server that has an active community and active commanders in the servers public voicechat, so that I can still join up with an organized group without having to join a guild right now. The server I’m on right now doesn’t have many commanders, and when a commander is running, they are never in the public teamspeak. EST.
Suggestions?
Alright, I’ll buy a new computer. Thanks.
Woops. It’s a Q 720

No everyone does not. However ..what is a ‘good’ computer to you ? ..becouse unfortunatly GW2 requirs a monster CPU to play WvWvW smoothly.
I have an intel i7, 6GB ram, and a geforce gts 360m. Do I need to buy a new computer? It’s a laptop, so I can’t really upgrade. All of the higher end computers at the local shops don’t really seem that much better.
So does everyone “lag” in wvw then? It doesnt look like it when i see videos on youtube. Is everyone just spamming their skills blind like me? I find wvw completely unplayable, and I have a good computer. Even sPvP has lag for me. It’s very discouraging, and is making me consider re-opening my old republic account.
I’ve decided to make an alt, because I can’t play WvW with a melee profession, due to excessive lag. During zerg situations, it’s impossible for me to play in the fray of it. I just freeze up and watch people slow motion kill me, while I wonder if the buttons I’m pushing are doing anything at all.
What’s the best profession and build to use for hanging back in large scale WvW battles?
It is ridiculous to have rules against swearing. They are words just like any other word. In fact they are a useful tool when you want to add emphasis or strength to a statement. It’s the people who choose to be offended by these words who turn them into “bad words”. If people don’t want to see bad language, don’t touch the filter and then you’ll never know the difference if someone typed $(*(&%^& or an actual bad word. It’s your fault for turning off the filter, which is on by default.
Then again, if it’s in the ToS, you’re outta luck =P
