Anyone having a different experience with the drop rates of Passion Flowers? I haven’t met anyone that’s seen more than one or two of these things, even after harvesting hundreds of the flora in Southsun.
Soooo, what’s with the new jewelry prefix (jewelry version of apothecary’s) being 4-5 times as expensive as any other piece of exotic jewelry?
Seriously, the drop rates on Passion Flowers need to be brought up from zero to the same drop rates all the other top tier crafting materials are. It takes 75 passion flowers to make one piece of exotic Passiflora jewelry and they’re going for over 14 silver each on the trading post. It doesn’t help that there’s absolutely no reason to play in the new Southsun Cove map. No events, no drops.
The materials don’t exist in the game and they’re getting more and more scarce as time goes by. The cost is skyrocketing.
Please fix this.
I’ve never seen or heard of it. Is it new with the Lost Shores patch? Please share if you know how it’s acquired.
600 points makes a very noticeable difference no matter what stat you put it on. I could also play the game without selecting any of my major traits, but that makes a big difference too.
I just want them to add mor prefixes to the gear in PvE. Preferably via crafting, but I’ll grind karma if I have to in order to get shaman’s gear (toughness, healing, cond dmg). I know others who would love to see Ravagers, Soldier’s, and a lot more options with healing in them, especially as a primary stat.
I am not going to claim to know all weapon stats, but could it be possible some of what you are looking for is on random drops?
Gw1 used to have gold items drop with extra stats, randomly and Shields used to be able to get +5 energy…which were highly sought after.
I’ve researched extensively, and I don’t think so. There are sites that list the stats on all available armor types. Here’s a good one – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_Level_80_Exotic_Armor. I can’t remember if all are on that page, but with a few more sites, even the random drops are covered (Khilbron’s, etc).
The resulting view is a very limited set of combinations that repeat over and over. This really is a limiting factor that makes the game seriously less fun for anyone unfortunate enough to have stumbled across a really fun build that gains nothing from Power nor Precision.
What would be your ideal stat combination?
Same as one of the posters above – Toughness, Healing, Condition damage (Shaman’s in PvP). I built a powerful support build that can only get good damage via conditions. Works great in PvP. It feels totally kittened in PvE. Power and precision are completely worthless to my build (slow/infrequent attack speed), yet I’m forced to dump around 600 points into them.
Regardless of the exact combo though, there are many combos that are simply unavailable, and there’s no good reason for it.
I love to play a game when I can really get into the playstyle I want. I don’t even mind grinding a bit for gear that supports/enhances how I want to play.
The trouble with GW2 is that there is no gear anywhere in PvE that provides the stats I’m looking for. There’s plenty in PvP. Why was this decision made? It’s stupid. Why rehash the same basic six stat combinations with tons of different looks in crafting, karma vendors, dungeons, and WvW? More stat combos support people trying out new builds and new chars. Why was PvE shafted in this regard?
I don’t even want to spend the time or money getting an exotic set if it’s not something I want to play in.
Can we please get more stat combinations in PvE?
I’d really love for a dev or designer to weigh in on the stat restriction design decision. Please? Just a thought, or a note about potential changes – something.
I’ve been level 80 for a while and I finally realized that there is nothing I want in the game. Nothing at all. The primary thing I thought I would be shooting for is my Level 80 exotic armor set. Much to my surprise, it is impossible to acquire the stats I want for my character, or even come close. My desired stats are readily available in PvP gear, but there’s nothing anywhere in PvE that approaches how I want to play, so why bother? Why spend tons of time grinding for something I don’t even want? Why was this decision made? Is there any hope of more stat combinations being added?
I can understand spreading out all the different stat combinations all over the place. Some in dungeons. Some in karma vendors. Some in crafting. Some in WvW. But that’s not what we have. We have the same 6 (plus or minus a couple that are a little more rare) stat combinations repeated over and over in every source.
Please add more stat combinations. I’m looking for Toughness, cond dmg, and healing, but I have friends looking for many others. I think crafting should be the source for customizability. Right now, crafting is practically worthless due to raw materials being worth more than the items crafted from them. I’d settle for having to go far and wide though to get some combinations. Just make more combinations attainable SOMEHOW in the game. Otherwise, I just don’t see any point in spending a ton of time grinding for gear I don’t even want to be in.
This truly pisses me off as well. I want toughness condition damage and healing too. It’s depressing that it is unattainable in PvE.
Crafting is worthless in this game. The stuff you build is worth less than the raw items used to build them. What does that say about the value of the crafting? I was hoping we’d at least get some customizability, but alas no. We just have some random restrictions placed on crafting for no good reason. Plus we have no way to find the gear in the wild.
Crafting is turning out to be completely worthless for anything other than leveling, which isn’t desirable anyway. There simply aren’t enough stat combinations in the gear you can make.
If you sink your time into crafting, your stuck with Power being on every single combination whether you like it or not. You’re also stuck with precious few combinations on the other two stats. Anet has also built a system where bringing together all the basic materials and skillfully creating a masterpiece out of it is actually worth less than the basic components themselves. Good job there. Talk about a worthless skill. But I digress…
I really want Toughness, Healing Power, and Condition Damage (Shaman’s prefix from PvP). There’s also Soldier’s and Rabid, and more.
Please add these insignias to the crafting system! At least make crafting worthwhile by providing customizability. As it stands, we’ve got nothing.
Did you get hooked up with anyone? I just posted my request for peeps playing 6-8am ish CST on Anvil Rock. If you still need at least one person to hook up with, I’m usually on then. Maybe we can grow our group over time.
I have a pretty weird schedule and pretty much just solo early mornings on Anvil Rock from 6-8am. I’d love to do some dungeon explorable runs or just clear some high level areas. The usual farming areas are a pain and boring, and it’s not at all profitable to wander too far by myself in Cursed Shore or Malchor’s Leap. There are so few people on at that time. With one or two others, we could clear some maps.
I’m a level 80 elementalist with maxed Water and Arcane. I do scepter/dagger for a much better solo experience, but I can switch to staff if it will help the group. I’m 400 Tailor and 400 Artificer just working on getting the ectos for my crafted exotic gear and trying to have fun. I’ve got a couple alts as well.
Looking for either one or two people or else a guild to do more.
I can’t find this anywhere. I haven’t gotten my Artificing skill up yet, so maybe it will become obvious.
I was hoping someone would have documented it by now.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
I totally agree. Please see my similar post. This is a frustrating limitation, and it makes no sense.
Please add Shaman’s and Soldier’s stat options to crafted items.

To be more clear, all of the gear stat combination options available in PvP should be available in PvE via crafting. There’s no reason not to. Its very frustrating to try a build out in the Mists, only to find its impossible to play that build in PvE.

Are there Plans to do this already? It’s incredibly frustrating to realize after all the time and money poured into crafting that I can’t even make the items I want. To make it worse, these items can’t even be found within the game in PvE mode. These items are only available in PvP. Why?
My build really needs Toughness, Healing, and Condition Damage gear. I have others that need Power, Toughness, and Vitality. Please make these stat combos available at least via crafting.
Make crafting worth the effort.
