So… SFR not so kitteny or arrogant anymore eh?
What goes around comes around. I’m loving it.

So the moving of DVG, what can I say…
DVG at the start were a guild that picked up from the ‘IRON triangle’ and started anew. They started out by training the new and guild-less players, open raids everyday and gathering a strong and good reputation. At one point they were one of the most respectable guilds on Desolation, with a strong community and dedicated WvW players. However, recently DVG seems to have collapsed under its own virtues. Their recruitment policy of anyone who was interested in WvW meant nobody was ever left out, but it also left them with ~200 sub/on par players in the guild. Although continually addressing to the community they were ‘training’ them, the standards didn’t seem to improve. I ran with one of DVGs last open raids, in which they constantly mixed their combo-fields, had poor blasting and had a very weak melee train (whether they like to admit this or not).
As DVG moved towards the end of its career on Desolation it also transitioned away from its original primary goals. They continuously ran untagged ‘guild raids’ and started to GvG, a stark contrast to its original points per tick and playing for the guild-less players DVG had originally. Towards the end of its Desolation life, DVG also in my opinion became less innovative in its WvW play and commanding, and began to drop its reputation. To go along with this several times in the days before DVG left I saw some of the most appalling behaviour since starting Guild Wars 2, but I won’t go into that here.
Overall I am not sad to see DVG go. If it was the DVG of old I would feel it would have a dramatic loss to our community, but the modern DVG we saw in the past few weeks I feel no sympathy for. In many ways DVG leaving was a good thing, they took some of the less-able players Desolation had been burdened with with them. I do think though it is very hypocritical of DVG, the Desolation Vanguard to leave Desolation when the times get tough. The people that fight for the server are the first to jump ship before the leagues. My question now is who will be next?
PS; I think Piken was the wrong choice.
That’s your view from OUTSIDE the guild.
We are still the same, we still recruited and trained everyone who had interest in WvW. You forget one thing: everyone was a ‘pug’ at some time, everyone.
So until we came with the decision of leaving DESO, we were still recruiting and training everyone who wanted to join.
Does this make us a bad guild? Define bad guild. We wanted to change DESO losing streak and ‘we’ did. We wanted to train ‘pugs’ and we did.
We lost open field battles? Yes. Did we win open field battles? Yes.
At the end of the day we didn’t care as much about losing open field battles as we cared about winning but we never ran away from a fair fight, at least intentionally.
So we left because times got rough? How was the time when DVG was created? Can you remind me (us)?
We are not elitists and we’ll never be and you will know that we’re a fun guild to hang out with if you spend time with us… and that might be the reason why alot of DVG is going to Piken, that shows how people in DVG feel about DVG.
PS: we didn’t do GvG, we did training sessions with some of the core members (3 times?), we did it so we could improve our fighting skills. We also ran untagged for training purposes and they were like once a week, thrice at the most.
I wanna thank Jarrod for making Deso a top3 server in EU after all those months losing.
Without you it wouldn’t be possible.
(why are we really feeding a 10 year old frustrated baby?)
DVG stopped having fun in Deso, commanding 24/7? Carrying all the load and still having to take kitten from ungrateful people? Nah, we’re done.
All of you complaining are the ones who don’t care about having fun or winning at all. You are all bad boys and the best players this game has, are you trying to hide anything else (as you said yourself?).
I’m sad for leaving Deso as it was my first and only server but my home is where ‘my poeple’ go and if they go to Piken, I will go with them.
Now you can have all the fights you want and lose all of the match-ups again. The very same reason that created DVG, because we we’re tired of losing but thanks to Jarrod, we went to be a top3 server again.
Couldnt end this post without making a remark about EXG, you guys are awsome.
See you around Rox and Rubio.

That ‘kareoke event’ is so bad that a record was broken with 100+ people enjoying it… on TS, same channel.
DVG is so bad that we stole every player from EB when the biggest number I’ve seen together is on reset night. Our raids usually have between 10 to 25 people, 30 tops (and we hardly have this kind of numbers, except in reset night, where we indeed have a force).
Deso is so bad that we are 3rd again, after months of losing, only behind 2 servers with excellent coverage. The other night, at DESO BL, we were like 15-20 guys on TS (we we’re not all DVG) and we were facing a huge SFR and Viz army (+40, easily, each).
To finish, I really hope Anet starts sorting out the lag issues instead of colour useless updates. Who cares about the colours when there is alot of work to do in WvW, things every player complain about.
… the colours Anet? Really?

So they lost the matchup and cry that we won, instead of looking at where they failed?
Deal with it and get better, like DESO did.
Congrats to all the Pikens who jump over 1 guy (teams of 4/5), well done GH and Sere(?) – specially the one who jumped over my dead body after a 1 vs 5.
Not so ‘honourable’ now eh?
Hi all,
First of all, I apologise if this isn’t the place for this topic but it seemed the most appropriate place.
I’d like to know how you report a hacker on the opposing team in WvW.
Yesterday I was roaming around and ‘faced’ a thief that would go into stealth everytime he wanted, with no animation, nothing at all. He would simply disappear and entered stealth mode.
How do I know he was hacking? Well he didn’t do animations at all and I’ve been playing a thief for 2 months now, it’s my main char so I know a thing or two about him.
