I’ve ended up on Piken Square (EU) after our first server became Full. It’s mostly Medium population and as others have said, it is the Unofficial EU Server.
It fits my playing style well. I’m quite casual in my pace and play, so the community fits me well. It feels a bit more relaxed and laidback in terms of play style. I also find it interesting to watch the roleplaying groups.
I’ve not played in WvWvW yet, but I’d imagine the etiquette would be similar to PvE – I will generally rez if someone else is already defending the area. If there’s not someone else, I’ll fight the hostiles to take aggro – that way, the downed player has a chance to bandaged and rez himself. If there are others already on the job and it doesn’t look like they need me yet, then I’ll rez first.
For mail messages, there is an exclamation button in the middle of the mail message near the bottom to report.
I feel silly now – I was taking screenshots and reporting them via the website because I hadn’t seen that little exclamation mark before. D’oh!
As Raedwulf said, Piken Square is the EU’s Unofficial RP Server – it usually has Medium population as well. It’s my Home World and I’ve never had trouble getting on it.
I’ve actually never done roleplaying in a game – I’ve done such through email, forums, etc, but not in game. I’m getting a bit tempted now though…
I’m conflicted with this because I pronounce all of those words BOTH ways. I used to live in the States, but now live in the UK, so I sometimes don’t even realise the words are being pronounced differently because they both process to me as the same thing.
Also, ignore my British spelling. It’s contagious.
I’ve got 3 females – Human, Sylvari and Norn. Not sure if I’ll continue with just girls or if I’ll make a few guy characters as well.
Perhaps Anet can easily fix this by either automatically toggling off the light the moment someone picks a glow colour or changes the glow intensity at the creation page, or by introducing a pop-up/hover-over text that informs the player that the glow can be seen by toggling off the light.
I think this would be the best solution. There’s no point picking a glow colour with the light on anyway.
I didn’t notice either – I just got REALLY lucky that I picked a light blue with dark purple hair and it ended up looking nice. Wished it had been an informed choice though.
…wondered what that toggle for lighting was for. Now I know.

Only started my Norn Guardian the other day, so I’m only level 7 or so. Still, think she looks good now – she can only look cooler with time.
Edit: Actually, I just realised that she looks like a friend of mine and now I can’t un-see it. Curses! May need to do a hair colour update if that every becomes available with the Anet store (if it hasn’t already. Don’t recall…).

I had read in a few other forums that Sylvari names were based on Irish, Gaelic, and Welsh names. I’m a fan of Welsh names to begin with, so I did a search and found Ffion. It felt weird having a one-part name after GW, so I went with Ffion Auryl. Not sure where Auryl came from – just thought it fit nicely.
My Sylvari is just a baby still compared to everyone else’s!
I originally tried them because they looked a bit different and fae-like – used them like a substitute for elves, really. I was a little speculative to start with, but I absolutely love playing my sylvari now.
I also went the Necromancer route (which I wasn’t sure of either, to be honest) and am very pleased with it. She went from being an experimental alt to my main within a few levels.
