Hello, everyone. This thread is so nice and full of really nice people :‘) It’s really cool to see.
I’ve always liked the look of the Pact Fleet Weapons – particularly the Pact Fleet Staff skin, but I’ve never been able to get my hands on it.
Thank you so much in advance. My server is NA.
Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the carapace leg armor, namely about how to obtain it. I’ve been Googling and asking around, and I seem to get conflicting answers (and it doesn’t help that the wiki is on the fritz). Here are my questions:
1. Is the only way to get the carapace leg armor by playing through LWS2? Does it not drop at all through the Silverwastes?
2. If this is the case (like most people are saying) how did I end up with with the heavy carapace legs (the wrong weight, unfortunately) in my wardrobe, despite having never even done LWS2 before?
3. Does the carapace armor box rewarded in the Silverwastes PVP reward track give pants?
Thanks in advance.
Okay, so, I’ve been playing for just over three years now, and I still haven’t made a Legendary. My husband is making Nevermore and it makes me want to make one as well.
Out of all the Legendaries, Astralaria is definitely my favorite. It’s clean, classy, and beautiful. So if I made a Legendary, it’d be Astralaria. Which brings me to my question: is the axe worth having on any class? It’s not really part of the meta. I know that, based on the designs and sounds, it was basically made for the druid (aesthetically), but do Rangers/Druids even have good axe skills?
I know the other options are Warrior (which I main), Necromancer (which I have at level 80), and Revenant (which I haven’t played yet). Are any of these classes worth having axe/double axe on? Or are the subsequent skills not worth the Legendary journey?
So to recap: Axe – yes/no? If yes – which class?
Thanks a ton.
I have 20 teleport to a friend boosts sitting in my bank taking up space. I’ve only used them once. It really isn’t hard to get around the map, and if it bores you so much, don’t make new characters.
With the exception of a character’s 3rd birthday gift, Teleport to Friend Stones are locked behind RNG in Black Lion Chests. I always find myself using them up quicker than I can get them (it doesn’t help that at least twice they’ve glitched and used one up without actually teleporting me anywhere).
The world of Tyria is pretty vast. It takes a long time to get around, even with easy access to starter areas. Some of the higher zones you have to cross three or four maps to get where you need to go. If you have a lot of alts, this can make it difficult to catch up with friends, guildies, or even make it to hero point trains in Maguuma (frustrations which I have experienced).
If waypoints aren’t made account-based, I’d at least like to see more places being made easy access (i.e. a portal to Verdant Brink or at least the Silverwastes in Lion’s Arch). This problem is only going to get bigger as more maps are added.
Also, it’s really not out of bounds to not want to repeat the same, time consuming content 5 – 10 times if you want to play all of the professions and get their elite specs.

I’ve always thought that waypoint unlocks should be account-wide, or at least one per map. As for the rest of it… Nah.

I have to agree that playing with a friend is much more enjoyable than playing on your own. I have about six level 80s, and I can say that leveling alone is probably the most boring bit.
I find it helpful to break up all the leveling with personal story chapters, as the game intends you to. Along the same lines, I think you can make playing the game a lot more enjoyable if you try to focus on immersion. Instead of running around clicking on things for experience points, you’re a thief, sneaking around, stabbing your enemies in the back and helping people out from the shadows.
Or you’re a necromancer, traveling the world, consuming death as you pass it and occasionally, begrudgingly, helping out helpless passerbys.
To me, it’s all about your characters. It all about giving them a personality and a look that matches, working through the story and trying to think what your character would think and see it through their eyes.
Or you could look into alternative methods of leveling – crafting gives a good few levels. PVP and WvW also give tons of Tomes of Knowledge.

I haven’t played a Chronomancer myself, but I think it has a lot of useful utilities and can be quite capable if played by the right person. However, I always found base mesmers to be too fiddly and rotation-based and quite complex, so if Chronomancers stick to that trend, you might find them kind of irritating to play. Or not, depending on what you like.
If you’re trying to chose between Warrior and Reaper, just know that Reapers have a crazy amount of sustain. If you trait it right, you can outlive almost anything. Warriors on the other hand, are quite straightfoward, pretty easy to survive with as well, and can pack a pretty big punch. Also, if you trait toward a Beserker, you can set everything on fire all of the time.
I’m currently maining a Beserker right now, and my husband plays a Reaper. We both do well in PvE. Try experimenting a little bit with both. The Level 80 boost allows you to demo the class in the Silverwastes for as long as you want without commiting. So you’re free to try it out first.
The downside to it, however, is that you can’t really equip elite specs while trying it out, so the PVP lobby may be better for getting a feel for the fully equipped class.

If they make a button to mute miniatures, it should include legendary weapons as well. I’m still haunted by hours of the Dreamer neighing during the Mad King’s Labyrinth zerg.
I would probably hold off on creating either of them. The studio loves to nerf revenant without making much needed improvements in return. DH sustain is pretty bad and is ripe for game breaking buffs, which (knowing Anet) is probably going to happen.
Because of this I might have suggested DH but it is best to wait for what manner of craziness they feed us this time . They like to force people to play through their ridiculous changes for 3 months before they realize something is wrong so if you choose DH or rev now, you will have to live with it for at least 6 months. It takes at least 2 cycles before they correct their mistake since they use the first one to make things worse.
Ele is probably going to get nerfed, DH is going to get broken, Rev, only Lyssa knows, with the amount of work the class needs, they are sure to f%$k up. Conditions are supposed to get nerfed across the board which is obvious but obvious changes isnt their strong suit. I honestly cannot wait.
As someone who just traited into a condi build, can I maybe get a source for the condition nerf?

DH DPS is one of the best.
Plus DH has a ton of sustain…
DH/Guard is in a great place ATM outside of PvP
Coming in 5th out of 9th place isn’t really “one of the best” – it’s medium really, hence why I said “relatively” low.
This is coming from someone who mained a Guardian and then a Dragonhunter for almost three years. I recently branched out and found it much easier to survive and do decent damage on some other classes. Normal PVE (and crafting) you’ll be fine no matter what you pick. You might find HoT maps a little tricky but not impossible, and if you ever want to play PvP, definitely take Dragonhunter off the table.
But if you’re only doing PVE/crafting, then you should be fine either way, as long as you don’t mind being a little slow while running around.
If you’re not entirely sure, the best thing you can do is experiment a little
I don’t know much about Herald, but I know that Dragonhunter/Guardian has some issues right now that puts it quite low on the elite spec totem pole. The class has a low health pool and relatively low DPS. The longbow went a long way towards giving the class a decent weapon, but it didn’t fix a lot of the issues with the class. Plus, there’a no passive speed boost options, so you either have to move like a snail or be forced to trait towards using a staff.
Wings of the Sunless were an achievement event item in season 1. As were the Shatterer Wings etc. Put out all the armors they want, but S1 event items need to be left alone. They’ve brought back a lot of the cash shop items from first year so new comers can have them….let that suffice. GAME ON
You were given the chance to work for those rewards. Why are you trying to deny others that same chance? Are you just a more important player? Hell no. Every player deserves equal access to rewards like that.
Not trying to deny anyone anything. By all means bring back the events but make the rewards different. People are missing the point, we WERE there and got those rewards. If you weren’t (for whatever reason) then no you don’t get the same rewards. Like the ball cap, you just had to be there. And before someone pipes in “special snowflake” jargon, apparently ANET thought it was special too because we GOT those rewards. As it stands currently, those events won’t be back anytime soon if at all. But if they are then rest assured I’ll be there to get those as well. GAME ON
As has been mentioned several times in this thread, there are already several examples of the devs bringing back old PvE content, whether through laurel vendors or more events. ANet is not against the idea.
No.
If you missed the event you do not deserve the reward. (unless the reward is tradeable and can be bought on TP, then go ahead and buy it)
Generally speaking, the nature of Guild Wars 2 as a game doesn’t really agree with you. It’s always been very friendly to casual players and newcomers. It doesn’t usually punish people who couldn’t play the game when the events were happening or those who simply didn’t even know about Guild Wars then.
The fact that they’ve already given another opportunity to get things like the Selfless Potion before means that they’re not against the idea of rereleasing otherwise unobtainable items. It’s just a matter of when.
Unfortunately, this kind of thing doesn’t have high priority, because a lot of other stuff is going on right now. But maybe they’ll give access to old PVE rewards in some LWS3 events.
To me, having what are now unobtainable PVE skins just means you were in the right place at the right time… which isn’t quite as impressive. I think it’s okay to rerelease old PVE items periodically, so long as the effort required to get them remains at a similar level as it was before (i.e. don’t put them in the gem store).
Seconded: you have no idea how much I want access to the Selfless Potion again.
Unfortunately the item I want isn’the available from anywhere else
I hope they take the Laurel Vendor approach with such items, as I’very seen suggested before.
I wish there were more sources for some of the other LW story things as well. I wasn’t around when the Modrem attacks were going on, and now we have no way to obtain items that require Modrem Blooms.
We need some confirmation on if this is an actual nerf or just a bug. ANet?
I would really, really love to see the mini bird 3-pack in the gemstore again.
I too would like to hear an update on this. I wonder if it was a bug or intentional?
