As the Founder of Badge Farmers Society [FARM], I’d like to formally extend an invitation to all former CoSA members (Red Blue and Green) to make a temporary home at FARM while they consider their options for joining a new guild. We are all saddened to bare witness to the end of an era. CoSA has been a part of the fabric of Sorrows Furnace from the very beginning and I know that things will never be the same. That said, I have faith in the enduring spirit of Sorrows Furnace and the remarkable group of people who call it home. I’m confident that once everyone lands in their new home guild that everything will be business as usual and Sorrow Furnace will resume their slow and steady climb through the ranks.
FARM is hosting a community event this evening beginning at 6pm server-time.
Please, join us and enjoy the fun and entertainment.
See you server-side,
~G27
PS: WAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m ok dropping the occasional $10 on Gems so I can pick up some extra storage or an unlimited gathering tool. I’m not willing to make the jump to $20…. ever. I bought every other unlimited farming tool and fully planned to grab the axe until I saw the price. Remember, its not 200 Gems more, it’s buying 800 more Gems to cover the difference and it’s certainty not worth 1600 Gems which is what I’d effectively be paying.
It just isn’t worth it and frankly I resent the gouging.

Server: Sorrows Furnace
Primary Focus: WvW and WvW Education
Predominate Playstyle: Casual & Hardcore (You determine your own playstyle.)
Guild Founder: Kylie Rogue/Rogue Thunder {Rogue Lemming.6358}
Recruitment Contact(s): Katiebrie Taulmaril.1658 | Raina.3516 |Rogue Lemming.6358
Guild VOIP: We use the Sorrows Furnace mumble.
Website: www.sorrowsfurnace.com
Peak Times: 9pm EST/6pm WST through early morning.
Guild Size: ~250
The Badge Farmers Society was founded so that Sorrows Furnace would have a WvW education focused guild comprised of SFs active players and players interested in honing their skills or just becoming more involved in WvW.
All of our original members are well established in other guilds but choose to attend [FARM] events in order to work with other experienced players and support players new to WvW as they learn the ropes. Many of our members are well know Commanders and Guild leaders and are in the Sorrows Furnace Mumble VoIP on a daily basis in order to collaborate with the rest of our WvW community.
[FARM] hosts weekly WvW training sessions that cater to all skill levels from absolute beginners to seasoned Commanders. In addition to the learning experience, these events are great fun and well attended. We meet every Monday and alternating Tuesdays at 9pm EST/6pm WST. (Special Trainings and Events are announced in the MOTD and at www.sorrowsfurnace.com)
Right now we are offering three training groups:
1. Cultivators: This group is focused on the fundamentals of WvW and is intended for newcomers to WvW as well as those who have experience but are interested in more dynamic play. (Even our experienced members attend this training in order to help teach the new comers and to join in the side splitting laughter and fun. Not to mention the ridicules amount of loot we generate!)
2. Harvesters: This is our advanced group and is intended for those who have a firm grasp of the fundamentals and are looking to take their play style to the next level. (This is a far more intense and fast paced group.)
3. Commander Training: This training is for Commanders who already have their tag and are looking to learn from and share knowledge with some of the most experienced and successful Sorrows Furnace Commanders.
Whether you are new to WvW, are interested in learning about the more organized side of WvW, or would just like to meet some great people to play with from various Sorrows Furnace guilds then [FARM] is for you.
At this time we have no membership requirements other than a desire to have fun in WvW. We do encourage people to Rep. [FARM] during events so that we can communicate via guild chat and to accumulate some Influence to be used for Buffs during training and to support the greater WvW community. If you are new to WvW, the Badge Farmers Society is an excellent place to meet a great group of people and learn all about WvW and the other Sorrows Furnace guilds.

@FC:
You should take our efforts at reset as a complement. We remembered being beaten by you so we got the word out that FC is not to be underestimated. We have a fairly strong cross guild communication network so its no surprise that players came out in droves in responce. Everyone was told that this is a new FC and to expect a long and exhausting week. “Get you’re PvE done before reset because you wont get the chance to do it next week” was repeted often.
In short: When you beat us, you earned our respect as dangerous adversarys. We have responded acordingly.
Best,
~G27
forgot how much SF kitten es me off with their 5 omega rushes with 60 people
against paper gates*
It’s a little early to start hating isn’t it?
We tried to spread our love evenly.
Just look at the map, we’re at the heart of every area.
Don’t worry, next week you’ll be moved up to a higher tier and we’ll be here waiting for ya the next time you hit rock bottom.
SF = Tier 8 FARMers for life =D

I just can’t help feeling a bit nostalgic.
It’s great to have the old crew together again.
Let’s have some fun this week!
~G27
I’d like pay a heart felt thank you to DR and GoM for all their generosity and support this week.
All the time you spent waypointing back to you spawn just to pick-up more loot bags and run them back to us was greatly appreciated! I just feel bad that I didn’t have much to offer you in return.
XD
On a serious note, this week was lots of fun! You forced us to step up our game and rethink some of our strategies which truly is a gift.
Good luck in your next match-up and I’ll look forward to meeting you again in the future.
Respectfully,
Kylie Rogue
2 Golems… 6 doors!
15min of wandering around in SM knocking out the doors!
(Note the time.)
Some from the front; Some from the back!
Claiming SM (by accident, we actually told people to stay out of the circle so we could keep fighting.)
And finally the Golem Zerg rush!
That was a fun night!
I don’t know if it is a spy or troll, but someone sabotaged GoM Garrison this reset. They queued cannons, then built ~10 trebs and ~20 catas in useless places keeping the supply drained.
Let me be clear, I’m not blaming any server or group. Its just sad that someone would troll a whole server like that.
That’s really lousy!
What a poor sport!
I hope the rest of the week is better for you guys =D
Some fantastic battles and great strategies!
It looks like it will be a fun week!
Good show everyone =D
Banjo is working hard at “Commanding” outside of HoD spawn!
BTW: Mad props to ET and HoD!
You guys have great spirit.
No matter what we throw at you, you just keep coming back for more.
>>>Respect<<<
Great to see you guys again!
Honestly, this whole event is just plain garbage. I understand grinding for achievements but at least when you grind you can explore and have a change of scenery. This is just repetitive and mindless. Frankly, it seems like the developer who created it was goofing off and had to come up with something quick at the last minute. I’d really like to complete all of the achievements but the Crabtacular is so stupid that I walked away from the game for over a week after wasting a bunch of my time trying to get it. The other achievements around this event are similarly unimaginative but at least there is an eventual end in sight.
Until this event got in my way I would spend several hours every day playing GW2. Recently I’ve preferred reading and catching up on my shows in order to avoid having to complete this agonizing content. Unless Anet gets its act together I’m afraid I’ll loose interest all together.
This was truly a pathetic attempt at content.
Reset… The Furnace is lit.
And will run out of gas on Monday. LOL
Don’t be so sure about that this week

There’s been a fair amount of whining in our (SF’s) map chats about how we’re losing and we’re “not up to the challenge”
The score would indicate that we are not up for the challenge,
The score would indicate that we are right where we need to be. Whether we are up to the challenge depends on our ability to continue evolving. If we loose numbers because some of our players have become complacent and refuse to rise to the challenge then perhaps we are not up to it. In contrast, if our regulars are able to adapt, evolve, and overcome then there is no reason we can’t be competitive in T6. I’ve been part of countless battles in T6 against superior numbers where we’ve held our own because we worked together as a team and win or loose we’ve held ground for far longer than pure numbers would suggest. Just because we are not steam rolling the competition everyday doesn’t mean that we are not up to the challenge. It just means that we need to adapt to the changing environment.
Read the screenshot I’ve posted. Anyone with even the most remedial analytical aptitude can see that we are right where we need to be.
Are we “up to the challenge?”
I can only speak for myself when I say that I know I am.
Each one of us will have to decide if they are individually “up to the challenge.”
Whether we were collectively “up to the challenge” can only be determined in hindsight.~G27
You be taking my words out of context guildie!!!!
As in the score would indicate we were not up to the challenge : as in : we should not look at the score : as in the score means nothing : wtf am I doing with these colons….
If I’ve misread your post please expound upon your intended message so that I may better understand you.

Does SF have any roamers or small party play at all? All i see are zergballs of SF fighting our zergballs of DH. I know their are some seriously good players around, but i have yet to see them!
Actually, we quite often break off into small squads but we have such a tight knit community that we end up with more and more people joining in because we all enjoy playing together so much! lol
For example:
“Things look like they’re under control here lets hit some camps in a BL.”
(A short time later)
“Hey where did XXXX go?”
“Oh they’re over in XXBL flipping camps with XXXX and XXXX.”
“Right on, I think I’ll head over there for a wile to.”
This will happen several times a night.
We also jump in and out of various parties depending on what we are working on and often end up working collaboratively toward common goals.
I can understand that a sea of “Sorrows Furnace Invaders” might look like a mindless zerg but to us its John and Steve, Frank, Liz, Becky, and Allen. More often than not it’s several parties converging to support each-other while working toward a common goal. What gets even more confusing to outsiders is that many of our Guilds cross pollinate and frequently join parties with people in other Guilds so we look even less uniform.
Hope that answers your question!
I’d say more but I don’t want to give away the secret sauce! =D

Amazing battle in SM tonight!
Love this match-up!
I can see staying in T6 for quite some time.
On a side note: Please remember that the comments of individuals are not representative of the server at large. I’m truly appalled by some of the behavior a few Sorrows Furnace players have exhibited.
Please accept my apology for those among us who lack the intellectual acumen to discern friendly smack-talk from blatant trolling.
I can assure you that the SF WvW regulars hold IoJ and DH in the highest regard and have been very excited by the overall good nature of this match up.
Keep up the good fight and thank you for making us work for it!

[Update]
Nice job taking SM away from us DH!
We shall return….
(edited by Rogue Lemming.6358)
And this weeks sportsmanship award goes to……………
The DH Ranger repping [TriF] that I just met in the JP who gave me his/her siege!!!
I’d have a screen shot but was to shocked to have presence of mind enough to take it.
Honorable mention goes to members of both IoJ and DH who congregated with me by the steps for dancing and other “gestures.” I’m loving the spirit of T6 and am very glad to be here.
Also:
Why is it that every time we were trying to retake SM, there would be IoJ on the Walls, and DH in the Halls (rhyming kittens)
We took it anyways…but you 2 in secret meetings or something? o.O
Nah, we just kinda know we’re usually outmanned and that’s a bad idea to storm the castle solo. I generally like to hit the castle or try to keep the pressure on whoever has it, and one of the easiest ways to contribute to the chaos is to breach a gate, and just burn down the entire outer siege. Usually leads to the castle going down atfter that, even if we don’t take it.
We just don’t want you guys getting all cozy in there, that’s all xD xD xDDDDDDD
Great answer, love it!
Cheers everyone!

Sorrows Furnace Battleboat for the WIN!!!
Hey, I just wanted to give a shout out to IoJ. The guys in EBG who took back their keep… Great job you guys, it was a heck of a fight. I could not have been easy to hack and one shot the T3 doors and one shot all of our siege with an elementalist. The battle raged on for about 35 seconds on a T3 keep before they finally broke into the Lord’s room, from start to finish. BRAVO ZULU.
Let’s set the record strait.
I’m from SF and I was there.
IoJ was trebing our walls for over an hour and we were so cap happy that we didn’t pay attention to maintaining what we already had.
The inner wall AND gate had already been downed and I was running supply from SM to try and get them back up. I had placed enough supply to repair the gate and wall just enough to patch the walkway so, I could reach our treb (to counter-treb) and place some other siege to help when IoJ inevitably broke through.
Yes, IoJ took it with one shot because it had long since been down to rubble and was only up 1 or 2 supply counts.
It would have fallen to a nice stout Dolyack fart!
We lost the Keep fair and square. IoJ capitalized on our mistakes (as they should have) and won the the battle.
Congratulations and good job!
While friendly smack talk IS part of the game, accusing people of hacking makes us look petty and juvenile. I hope that IoJ will see past this misguided accusation as the act of an individual and not let it reflect on Sorrows Furnace as a whole.
Finally, thank you for the warm welcome to T6! I’m looking forward to some great battles and to being forced to step up our game so we can learn and grow as a team.
Good luck to all and I’ll see you on the battle field.

Did SF get alot of transfers? If not please explain what the kitten you were doing in t7 with these kinds of numbers. (notice the 2 orange swords on IoJ borderland; those weren’t ours)
No we didn’t get transfers. As far as what we were doing in T7… the phrase curb-stomping comes to mind.
In truth, we were held in T8 for far to long and once we were finally set free we kind of let loose the fury. Now the higher tiers will have to deal with us as we rise through the ranks.
This is great fun!
BTW: To the IoJ Ranger who destroyed me in between Langor and Quentin… Nice job! You rock! Wish I knew what you’re running for a build because I didn’t have a chance.
Best of luck everyone! =D

Welcome to the tier, SF!
Very excited to verse you guys this week.
Thank you!
We are looking forward to some fun competition!
Best =D
I’m having this same issue. The game client runs “Verify and Repair” after every crash. Crash happens when talking to NPC or sometimes upon game launch or initial load from character menu. It has crashed 8 times tonight despite several restarts and repair attempts. I have yet to string together more than 5 minutes of active play. I have had intermittent crashes before but they are rare. This issue is persistent.
