Hi there, just a quick suggestion I thought could be easily done and make the game more enjoyable. It is possible to make some option to fix minimap scroll position so it stays in place while you move in spvp arena? Thanks

Hi there, I want to ask how can I obtain pvp versions of holographic or shattered wings (they are in locker so I assume there is some way). It is convertable from pve skin, or it drops randomly from reward chests (which ones)?

I’m not sure if the improvement of matchmaking system is alive, but situation is worse than before. Almost every soloq team have one or more <10r member and balance of teams is almost unexistant. Are you planning to adress this or what?

Very interesting. However, I won’t have real interest until the list is expanded and my name pops up there.

I also want to add that this system, well… it kinda makes me want to play ranked matches only with a competitive team (which I can’t anymore), because with the current match system, playing with a team increases your odds, and playing solo decreases your odds. That pretty much means that I’ll probably stick to hotjoin until the devs implement a solo(/ duo) only queue, or else I’ll lose rank points unfairly whenever I get matched against premade teams.

You can always play solo and if you are going to lose alt+F4 the game. No leaver penalty, no change in win/loss ratio, no problem!

I want to have your faith in this ranking system. I was on ts with player on ladder with 10 games and he was pug player from our server. And 10 games arent enough to judge any skill anyhow. So… yeah I am really hurt not to be in the list

Leaderboards, as you present them to us are major dissapointment and I really dont see the time you put into them. How can possibly be somebody with 10 games in top 100 players? Why it is full of bugs if you tuned it for two weeks after annoucement? Everything we hear from the launch is “improvement in the future” but when exactly is that future? We got the shorter side of the stick because you already have our money and we have only promises.

I think this game really need some serious punishment for people who leave during match or dont enter the match at all. When playing solo queue too often somebody leave match and that ruin everything for the other four people. Some glory penalty and if that person leave more than 5 times disable spvp queue for some time (ideally for ever). Recent patch about disconnects didnt change anything and 4 of 10 matches I dont finish in five players. I really think one person should not be able to ruin everything for other four.

Standing on a captured cap point looking like a scarecrow whilst ur team mates are 4 vs 5 at the other 2 points is not good teamplay.If you request for passive rank points whilst doing nothing,you will only create a new breed of useless player who just stay at cap points and afk.5 person at cap point A,afk for glory and rank points,5 person at cap point B,afk for glory and rank points.These hotjoin glory farmers playstyle will be passed on to those new in spvp.There ppl will then come to tpvp n do the same thing.

currently i would say the rank points is fairly balanced and rewards the different roles.

when a bunker and a roamer approaches an undefended cap point,the bunker would stay gaining 10 points for Objective neutraliser and another 10 points for Points Captured.The roamer if he is not a hotjoin hero would have moved on and missed out on 20 points.

should the point becomes contested,the roamer returns to help the bunker. Even though the bunker does not deal much dmg to the enemy,as long as his teammate kills that enemy,the bunker will still gain 5 points for Kill and 10 points for Objective defender.

the bunker being a bunker will most probably not get downed as fast as his other teammates who are not bunker build so bunker builds are mostly the ones who revive people in cap points battle-teammate revivals give 10 points.

when a bunker and a roamer approaches a defended cap point as long as the bunker has dealt some dmg to the enemy there, and the bunkers teammates finshed off the enemy,he will get objective assaulter-10points.Once the area is safe,the bunker will stay to neutralise it and then cap it for 20 points.The roamer if he is not a hotjoin hero would have moved on and missed out on 20 points.

Taking all the above into consideration,i would say a bunker and a roamer who play their part unselfishly will still get a rather balanced reward of rank points.

You are talking about premade play which doesnt burn me so much, because I am having much more fun there than in solo join. You can forget about any organization in solo queue, so my point still stand.

Anyway, tell me more about that not standing at point like scarecrow, maybe you actually teach me something. Lets say I am def ele and I am able to defeat 2v2 with my guildmate . I am defending our close point at forest and my guys just cleaned mid. So i get up myself and leave perfectly safe point for some chance to harass their point? Or lets say I am alone again on our point and it is 4v4 on mid. Should I go help them and risk losing either mid and our point?

Things you talk about can do maximally mesmer with portal, which is really good for this job, but he is not bunker (usually).

Hi there devs,
I want to suggest some improvements in the current ranking system, which is hugely in favor of offensive classes in my opinion. Imagine solo queue with pug these days (premade play is little bit different with fun factor, but issue is the same).

If I play bunker build with any class and defend one base which will be attacked during match 5-6 times, I get roughly 100 rank points IF! I sucessfully defend that point (ie somebody will come help me kill anything tougher than thief). On top of that I hugely contribute to the teamfights with heals, boons etc.

On the other hand, any hotjoin hero which run from base to base and tag enemies, leaving every point undefended and basically helping the other team to win, get easily 200 rank points even in lost match.

I really feel my contribution to win is much bigger and I should get fair reward as anybody else in the team. At this time is much better to play offensive if you want level up your rank to get better looking equip which is unfair. What about some ticking points from defending base or better rewards from point defender?

+1 For this thread.
I was patient when the first whiners started to show on forums and really thought anet is going to care about spvp. But somewhere after last “huge balance patch” wich was just fancy name for fiddling with underwater skills I started to lose hope. I bough this game because pvp and juicy promises about how this game is aimed to be esport etc. and to be fair, the pvp system and balance is best in any mmo i played so far, but without care from devs it means nothing.

In my opinion the only way how can GW2 get saved from oblivion is spvp side of the game and subsequent esport. Almost nobody will buy this game after one year for pve, which is good and all, but it gets old very fast and there is no really huge challenge for players like, for example raiding in wow. On the other hand, if this game gets succesful in esports, people will buy it long after release like SC and SC:BW.

And I really think this game have potential to show up on WCG sometime in the future, but what it needs right now is constant focus on spvp from anet side. I am imagining something like Dota2 in MMORPG coat. The game is in beta, it is free and yet have absolutely perfect system for creating matches, observing, monetizing gameplay and so on.

I really want you get it right anet, but as i said, I am losing hope. February patch will be essential and if you dont deliver, lot of players will abandon this ship.

I dont know if you are trying to really bury this game or what, but after todays hotfix, suprise suprise, utilities and traits are still switchable during match in spvp. Are you even avare of what you put into patchnotes? Any response if this is worked on whatsoever?

Despite patch notes, utility skills and traits are still possible to swap after match start when out of combat. Swapping weapons is blocked correctly.

You guys from EU need to calm down. When Anet releases stuff like this it’s always been by PST. Everybody is going to get the content at the same time. You’re not special and are going to get it earlier than everyone else just because it’s almost the 15th over there. This isn’t WoW you know.

Edit: I’d also like to note that you EU people don’t wait for this any longer than we do. Everybody gets told at the same time and the wait time is the same for everyone else.

So your idea of fairness is that we get patch at 3AM instead of prime game time?

What about some reply about this error and not just trolling playerbase witch merging threads messages devs? It is extremely frustrating to lose a matches because you are unable to repair the same bug you “repaired” before.

Love it! Amount of visible ground is essential for pvp side of this game so please leave it as it is – great
