So here I was, at my max level with my max level gear, having a jolly old time, when suddenly, new, better gear comes along and I have to do a dungeon to get it.

Developers: I’m not upset with what you did, I’m upset that you had the nerve to tell me you wouldn’t.

That is how I feel at this point. I don’t have full exotics yet and they added another tier I have to reach. I never liked running dungeons much in other games. Bought this one because they said it wouldn’t be needed. I’m sure some others would feel similar if it involved forced WvW or something. Just look at past complaints about the monthly achievements (some were upset they had a WvW requirement in them, other upset when they added dungeon runs).

That said, I am waiting at this point. No reason to freak out yet. Who knows… The upcoming news they announced may introduce new ways to obtain this new bis gear.

Don’t know what its like later, but at lower levels I’ve found it difficult to get Gold on events with my Mesmer when using a Staff. Staff damage is pitiful, so it makes makes me think the events ignore the damage from my phantasms, explosions, and such. Or maybe it ignores the bounced effects caused by the staff.

If I switch to something else, I don’t seem to have the problem nearly as much. But then, just about every other weapon does more damage than a Staff for a Mesmer.

Not sure if that is it. I don’t know what the problem is exactly. But something seems off about it. None of my other characters have had trouble getting Gold credit. With any weapon. Not played Engineer yet though.
