Hi all,
I wanted to show the build I came up with in the last few weeks, to gather suggestion for improvements (or to tell me I’m insane XD)
What I’m trying to have is a mesmer that does damage mostly with condition (especially bleeding), but avoiding confusion, since it’s not that reliable in PvE.
Moreover, this build has also a bit of spike damage due to sword (blurred frenzy), focus 5 and shatters.
Mobility in this build is everything, since the lack of toughness and vitality makes it very squishy, but there are a lot of skills (staff 2, focus 4 to relocate, 5 for projectiles, sword 2, shatter 4) that makes so you’re almost untochable, if you play it well.
There’s also crippling dissipation: with such a high production of clones (2 staff, dodge, 3 sword) I never found myself in cooldown for clones.
For the usual mobs i do the sequence:
focus 5,
sword 3 / 3 to close up,
blurred frenzy (sword 2),
switch to staff,
staff 2,
auto attack (double bounce means the target gets hit two times with two conditions, this applies also to clones),
staff 3,
shatter,
dodge if needed
staff 5
staff 2
autoattack until it dies (or shatter again)
I find myself well, but I want to have the experts advice on how to make it better.

I like the clone spammer, but i’d prefer to go with a little more damage, getting the sword instead of the scepter (blurring frenzy ftw) and adding a few rampager equip instead of the rabid to increase power (especially with sword) and crit chance to 50%.
The traits are ok, except for Illusion 20 (VII) and Dueling 10 (IV)
Hwere’s the modification
The strategy with this build would be to start with the staff adding conditions and avoiding confrontation, then switch to sword get in iDuelist, blurred frenzy and a few sword clones for a spike damage, then switch again to staff to escape. Rinse and repeat.

I just wanted to share my build with you all so we can discuss it and make it better.
So, first the link to the build
The point of this build is to stack conditions on the target with staff skills and clones (especially bleeding and vulnerability), while having little bursts of damage with swords and shatters, and in the meantime being as evasive as possible by mantaining always three phantasms/clones active (mirror images, evasion, etc…).
Destruction of clones is not only expected, but incouraged, since i got all the traits that gives extra condi on the killer.
Protection vs ranged are provided by reflect field and iWarden, while shatters, chaos field and distraction mantra offer plenty of interrupts.
I’m not certain if it is feasible to have all the two kind of offensive (cond / shatters) or if it’s better to focus on one (i’d prefer condi, but I read here that there are better classes at that than the mesmer) and i think that this build is too squishy, so i’d choose different gear to get a little more survivability.
What do you think about it?
