you could add something like an option for new players (below lets say 200/300 AP) to send a request to people they want to chat with.

This would be an excellent addition. Preserving the friendly community we’ve come to love while shutting out the gold sellers for good.

What other purposes are you referring to?

Give us an option to ignore all whispers/mails sent by people below a certain AP threshold.

If you guys aren’t implementing anything to stop the influx of gold sellers, at least offer us some line of defense against this never ending harassment.

I do agree that the UP/OP issue arises when there are stat differences, but I wouldn’t think it to be a waste of time even if the changes made no stat differences. It would at least give a sense of accomplishment for getting uncommon pets and add some variety to the pets we see in towns, pve, wvw, or spvp.
Besides, implementing pet skins would be much in line with GW2’s spirit of making your characters unique via customizing their looks.

Well, not specifically. I just want more things to do when I’m wandering around being useless.

…but we should have pets that level up and evolve (we all know what I am referring to, right?).

Make them gain minuscule and random increments in stat boosts so that every pet would have unique stat distribution. Give perfectionists like me something fun to work on. Even better, forget the stat changes, make them fancier as they evolve (appearance, skill effects, etc.) so we can show off to fellow rangers our dedication to the profession.
Or maybe make ultra rare pets that spawn randomly around the world that has different color or looks.

Every time I explore the world and see herds of juvenile something, my passion for collection dies unrequited. Just my 2 cents.
