I think the problem is that the server are not closed and people (rather bandowagner) prefer to stack one server. Now you can stack FSP more with 2 linkings. WTF! We had alot (it felt like we overtook the whole) SFR influx in past 1,5 weeks ago, but i think A-Net ignored that (because they used their overall data from past 2 months where we were “normal” -> place 3-7) and gave us 2 linking server. I believe, more people will join FSP. Not FSP directly, but using our linking partner for cheap access.
We can see now that linking system is not working anymore like intended.
I prefer that all higher tier server are closed for WvW and you can only move in every 2 month. For PvE/PvP it doesn’t matter where you play
Oh yeah, something is missing. That is bug.
I am not complaining as FSP member or for FSP. Just pointed my finger on the problem what i see (look topic title). FSP is just example, but spoken in general
Same happened for you guys though. Gunnar’s Hold got a link with Underworld and about 2 guilds left Underworld for FSP so it works in multiple directions.
I wouldn’t deny that. That’s why i say – we need something to prevent. Or the Matchups in EU become never equal in all Tiers in 2-3 weeks. ^^

Hey guys and dear A-Net.
Everyone (hopefully) know it needs time until the matchups become equal, but serverhopping is still huge problem that cause more unbalance matchups in next weeks.
At the moment FSP is linked with Vabbi, but player of Vabbi left their server to move to Desolation or RoS (partner of Deso) or to any another server (Gandara, FoW, Piken).
It feels like the linking system is not working like intended. People bandowagner/stack to 1 or 2 server with or without linking system..it’s still big issue.
Until the gems prizes don’t become higher for the linked server , or hoster and linked partner aren’t closed for 2-3 weeks – it needs much more time until the matchups become equal.

A-Net should add 2 factions like in Gw1. The guild choose the side and play for 1 side.
That “Alliance Matches” will be 15 vs 15 and can be played on the normal PvE maps, only with limited rooms. After you won many fights against the enemy side, you control the area.
increased. The price for solo server (w/o links) is okay, but the price for the linked partner is too cheap. For example: Desolation.
The cost is/was 500 gems to join a T1-server with high population. Since it’s cheap as kitten, people try to stack one or two server again. That needs to be fixed.
My solution would be:
1.) Link partner has the same prices of gems like the host server.
The hoster has “very high” population, so the “medium” link partner has the price of 1800 gems aswell.
or
2.) Base gems cost (500 gems) + additional gems addicted to the population of both server together.
Medium: 0
High: 1000
Very High: 1500
-> 500 + 0 = T6-T5 (Tier)
-> 500 + 1000 = T4-T3
-> 500 + 1500 = T2-T1

I’m really afraid of such mixed borderlands, because i like to play on both maps (especially DBL after improving) – but as rotation.
It might happen that mixed borderlands end up ABL is full and DBL is empty. DBL will the “Free PPT” map while the most of player joins ABL.
A-Net have to rework the DBL abit more, then it’s fine. It’s better than mixed things where you’ve to balance the PPT dramatically.

Let’s say, the number XvX is debatable. It can be 5v5, 8v8 or 12v12 for example.
But a gamemode of PvP like that would bring in new fresh air at all – even with hybrid classes, or ?
In the end, HA/HoH wasn’t the arena when the best of best fight each other, but rather who can survive all instances. Ofc, if there are 1 super strong team and alot weaker teams, then the super strong team would win always HoH.
It was designed for organisized/GvG teams, not for randoms :P
HA cant work because there is no such thing as a frontline, midline or backline in this game to have different game modes, everyone is just a hybrid running around. Unfortunately, I think only conquest works based on how they made the classes. (which is fine for pve, sucks for pvp)
Ofc there are frontliner and backliner. The midliner would be like “focus party”. Go into WvW, follow a Zerg and you can see that roles
But who says that we need frontliner, backliner or something else in HA? Those roles became Meta in Gw1 because it was effective. People will make their own Meta in HA for Gw2, too.
When they develop a new expansion, hopefully they’ll add something like HA. PvP needs fresh wind.

Some (or alot?) people might know the competitive mode from Guild Wars 1: Heroes Ascent (HA). It was a 8v8 competitive mode for guilds and organisized teams to get famous and honor.
After a team was able to survive all instances of HA, they joined into HoH (Hall of Heroes). HoH was the last arena and there were 3-ways fights: 8v8v8.
I wish that A-Net would add that gamemode into Gw2 aswell. For me is 5v5 pvp like “solo q” pvp…like Random Arena (RA)(4v4) of Guild Wars 1. I know it’s pretty odd to compare Gw1 with Gw2, but more (or better) competitive in PvP would be nice for everyone!

I started after longer break to play Ele and it feels good again. I play with the Action-camera since release, but i’ve one problem about:
I can not control the length of Burning Speed. You know if you adjust the camera above the character, you can reduce the length. But the same way doesn’t work with the Action-camera.
Did someone find any solution about this?
Thus Desolation is the ideal EU server if you want casual 24h7 PvD / K-Train action.

Desolation [EU] is the new SFR 2.0 ! That means: overstacked with f2p player, guilds, PvE Heroes and bandowagner. At the moment the silver league is the most balanced part in term of population.
To notice that 11 EU Server are marked as full. Hell what? Even with this state WvW feels empty out of prime time…and the problem is: PvE ppl join WvW in primetime and play their dailies and logg off – that’s the reason why server are marked as full, sadly.
If ,,full" means WvW is not dead, then we should(!) have more ppl in WvW at the moment.
EB is known as lagging Map. It’s horrible when 3 blobs are fighting each other on reset day. But sometime map lags happen – and i think it’s an issue of the Map and A-Net Server structure.
If the PvE event on the border pop up, then here we go: Ping spikes. Everyone! Like on EB, it’s a map failure.
I know this, but the points are raising fast after HoT has been released. It’s now easy to reach the 300k mark.
So, where do the points come from? A-Net added something i believe, but what?

since the expansion is released, wvw changed – now i ask me how is the score (WvW points -> PPT) made? After 1 day, many server reached the 40.000 point mark!
It feels like that PPT is a bit unnecessary now. It’s not bad at all, but i want to know how the server get their points beside of PPT, killing doylaks ?

Stop whining, i’m all for experiments, even if they don’t work. Atleast they’re trying to solve it.
Nobody would say against the testing stuff to solve problems, but this way of A-Net is absolutely crap. No announcement nor testing on Beta/testing-server.
Before you change something or need some experiments, use testing area (like Virtual machines for example) and NOT the live-Server.
Do the same Way like A-Net in company without announcement, your boss will slap your kitten when he is unfriendly. At least will get some problems.

Ping before: 50~ ms
Ping since Friday: 90~ ms with PingSpikes and worse skill lags
Problem: level3 hotspot / routing (kitten this kitten)
Solution: VPN (pls no….)
And A-Net, stop doing experiements on Live-Server! Use Beta/testing Server for this. Invite people to play there and test it out (like some other company cough RIOT Games cough do).
My conclusion: experiement failed.
WvW is working different than PvP and has more different types of Roamers. First of all, don’t build somehting like 2700+ armor or 2500 power as base stats! Never! Such stats are overkill. You are squishy (die fast) or tanky (kill nothing) as kitten.
Cele has the best mix what DD ele needs in WvW. Condi dmg is strong, heal is needed and power you get from Might and Lord stacks. With that you will get your buffed 2,5k power.
Makes sure that your fero, condi and healing power stats are ~350 (without cele gear), and then build up with bersi/knight/soldier stuff.
Begin with accessiore then armor gear.

The whole WvW gamemode should only be for paid member, not free user.

Wut..? Zerk Medi was a staple of the previous meta.
That was before condi got buffed and the trait changes. You’ll never run full Zerk now or you wish instantly to die against condi bombs?
I spoke about after the big changes, not before. Maybe my mistake that i didn’t make it clear.
Hammer medi over shifting the team fight with a well played JI/Ring.
I didn’t talk about hammer guard in my previous post.
I have doubts about staff too. Giving up focus didn’t feel right.
You are too dependent on the Focus, too much. Be more flexible and try something new. My staff-play works fine. I can stack 12 might, heal my mates, give swiftness and the wall can shine if placed rightly. Staff can be more useful than sc/fc in teamfights.
Maybe I’m just jealous of all the gimmicks that other classes have going for them right now.
Guardian is far more than crazy DPS-kitten
Medi guard with Marauder-Amulett was never the best option to fight and win any teamfights. If your focus on teamfights with premades, go for cele/cleric/soldier amulet.
Otherwise you can try following setup for 1on1 and teamfight (in soloQ) – avoid to camp “mid”. Better run & fight to close or outer:
Amulett: marauder
Weapons: GS (Condi Remove on Crit / Hydromancy) | Staff (5% damage / Hydromancy) —> hydromancy is really strong when you hit someone! 5% boost your Staff-autoattack enough (and far better with class skill #1)
Traits: Radiance (2-1-1), Valor (2-2-2), Virtues (1-2-3)
The disc contains the basic data of Gw2 – approximated 4 GB. If your installation is advanced then the client is downloading the needed data of gw2 and the disc is not needed. Finish your update via downloading.

As Ubuntu-user i can say that Gw2 runs with Wine/PlayOnLinux. The huge problem is that you can only use single-core….sadly your other core are ignored from system. So you must set your graphics on ,,low" for fair FPS of ~40 outside from city. Inside is <30 fps.
If many player are around on you and use skills (ex. world boss), then your fps dropp dramatically!
The more power has one single-core, the better performance in gw2!
I prefer Rad. over Zeal. It looks far stronger than zeal.. ?!
Don’t feel that zeal is worth to use as GS (weapon).
For WvW Roaming/Small Scarle Groupfights:
Gear: 5x Knight +1 Sentinel
Accessories: Berserker
Weapons: Valkyre
With these (exotic) gears you’ll reach:
Power: > 2000
Armor: 2500
HP Pool: 14.000
Crit chance: ~40 %
Crit damage: ~190%
That’s far enough to survive hard-engage thiefs or condi bombs. As meditation guard you’ll reach your 60% critchance because of the Fury
