P.S. Sent out a PM to everyone here that mentioned they wanted one of their names that was “taken” just in case… so no one else duplicates the effort.
—I know someone asked for it but figured I would notify everyone of the good news.
I figured I’d try while I was in the game, and it worked. Thanks for the PM though! That was very thoughtful of you.
And thank you Susan, much appreciated.
My earlier post was actually a thread I started that got merged into this one, so I had to edit it a bit to make more sense. I remember deleting 2 of my 4 beta characters right before they were removed so I tried checking the names of those I deleted myself vs. the names of the ones I didn’t. The names of the characters that I deleted worked and were available. The names of the ones that I let sit there until they were removed are definitely still unavailable.
I’m sure I just repeated what we already know, but I figured I’d throw it out there. Wishing us all luck in the name recovering. Cheers.
I gave a name to one of my HoT beta characters that I actually ended up liking, but I made the mistake of not deleting her in time. I noticed that the beta characters are gone, now that the last beta weekend ended. I bought a name change contract to change the name of one of my existing characters to the new name, but it says that the name is unavailable. I checked to see if anyone else had the name, and no one else does.
I think I’ll wait til Monday and see if the name is still unavailable. Might send a support ticket then. I’m glad it’s not just me though. Hopefully this can be fixed. I’m glad I made a non-beta name place holder toon for my rev though, just in case.

The repair cost may not be much to some players, but it is to others. I’ve seen people quit dungeon runs after one mistake wipe because they don’t want to keep paying for a repair bill they feel that they shouldn’t have to if they were with a “better” group.
I myself have been taking some friends into dungeon runs to help them learn them, and the no repair costs sure takes a load off for me since I’m in the process of crafting a few legendaries myself, and we know how much that can bleed you dry. :x
That is not a bug.
Influence is accrued and spent separately by the guild members on each world. For example, a guild with players in Maguuma, Blacktide, and Riverside will have three different pools of Influence and three different build queues, one for each world.

Well that really sucks.. :/ Looks like we’re going to have to start over. Luckily I have a friend in our old server that can get all the things in the guild bank for us. Thanks.
Interesting.. o: thanks, didn’t know that was possible.
I’m not sure if this is a bug, but it is really disappointing.. Bf and I made a guild for the guild bank but then switched servers recently.. now all the points we’ve earned over time is gone and the guild bank is no more.. all the guild influence and upgrades history is gone too, and we can’t queue new upgrades, or do anything else for that matter.. It’s as if the guild is still in the previous server. Why can’t it move when we do? I had crafting materials and holiday items in there, it would be a shame to lose it all for good.
Edit: And all the upgrades we had (had everything up to at least tier 3) are now gone too.
Please tell me there’s a solution to this. :c (One that doesn’t involve rebuilding the guild and losing everything we had for good.)

Is that even possible? I’ve seen an Engineer and Warrior do it once, but I don’t think I’ve seen any runes or anything else that would let any class besides mesmer summon a clone.. I’ve asked around and have been told that it must be a hack of some kind. I would’ve taken a screenshot of a player who did it today, but it didn’t occur to me to do so at the time, and I wasn’t sure whether or not it was normal.
Here’s a video I found on Youtube showing the available animations of the new Bouquet of Roses item from the TP. Still not sure if it’s worth the 400 gems though. Seems a bit pricey, especially considering how terrible the gem prices are these days.
