Guild Wars 2

Just did a search, and you could only have 8 during the beta. Once GW2 got out of beta, I didn’t bother to try to get more slots (under the assumption that 8 was still the max).

This question might have been answered before, but I cannot find it, so I apologize in advance if it has.

I am wondering if we are allowed to have nine slots for our account. I already have eight, which I believe to be the maximum, so if I use another character slot expansion (either from the gem store or from pre-ordering the deluxe or ultimate package), will it let me have nine or will it say I’ve reached the maximum character slots for my account?

If you could answer with a quote/link to someone from Anet saying “yes” or “no,” that would be preferred. I know there’s speculation that it will increase, but I want to hear/read it from the people that make the game.
