AT&T in Illinois, no luck. Friend with AT&T, also in Illinois, playing for hours.
I also have AT&T. Does everyone else having this issue have the same ISP?
Hi, I had the same problem. The solution for me was that to delete this line from the hosts file.
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com
or just put a “#” at the begining of the line like this
#174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com
Having the same issue as the OP, but have no idea what this means.
Exploiters not understanding the OP
Good lord. Nobody understands the mechanics of this fight since they fixed it. It’s not hard, I promise.
This poor Queen is stuck in a dank, nasty dungeon. All she really wants is a beer and a shot of whiskey. If you bring her some, then spend 2-3 minutes RPing with her, she’ll give you a buff that makes Kohler start a dance party. If you can Simon Says him for 1 minute with dance moves, he’ll give you the Triforce, and then you can defeat Ganon and cleanse the world of evil.
I thought everyone knew this already.
Sounds like exploiting
Mindless Zerg [ING] is recruiting for organized WvW! Raids take place during pre NA prime (1400 server time) and NA prime (1700 server time). Raids take place six days a week; every day except Sunday. Raids aren’t mandatory, and the only time you have to rep the guild is during said raids.
Requirements:
-At least one level 80, geared in exotic gear. Ascended is a plus, but in no way required. There is no class requirement.
-Represent the guild during raids. At any other time (or if not raiding), you are free to rep any other guild.
- Have a working copy of TeamSpeak 3. You do not need a mic, but you do need to be listen to the leaders during raids.
-Run a build that benefits the group. We don’t have required builds, but if you are unsure of what to run feel free to ask the leaders; we have multiple recommended builds for each class.
Raid Times:
Pre NA prime raids are at 1400 server time, or 5 PM EST.
NA prime raids are at 1700 server time, or 8 PM EST.
Pre-NA prime raids take place, then the guild transitions to the NA prime raid with a different leader. You do not have to attend both; you can attend one or the other, or both, or neither.
Havoc Squads/Roaming
[ING] also frequently has roamers and havoc squads/roaming parties. One of our leaders is dedicated almost entirely to roaming. As a guild, we feel that roaming does have its place in WvW and can contribute to the server’s success. However, we don’t have set times for this; it’s a much more relaxed and casual environment.

Someone stated previously that it will be account bound. It will not. It will not be bound to anything until you equip it; upon equip it becomes soulbound to that character.
Also, you can un-soulbind your Twilight off your Ranger using a transmutation splitter. It’s been done many times and a simple search should bring up directions on how to do so.
Defiant Stance is borderline OP in large scale fights of WvW. It’s is a high risk high reward but once you know how and when to use it it becomes really powerful. Outside of GvG or ZvZ it is pretty much less than useless.
This person is correct. Defiant Stance may not be useful for PvE or tPvP, but for large scale WvW it’s insane. I feel like it was designed with WvW in mind anyways, and I don’t think it needs changing just because it isn’t viable in PvE or PvP. It isn’t like Warrior doesn’t already have good healing options.
Solid advice has already been given for PvP (10/30/0/0/30) so I’ll talk about PvE/dungeons. For PvE your trait distribution is right, but I’d change weapons. D/D should be kept on one weaponset, but the other should be S/P. Shortbow is not needed in PvE. S/P would be for trash mobs, as the AoE blind pulses and cleave are extremely useful. D/D would be for bosses, where single-target damage is more useful. For gear, Berserker everything with Scholar runes. If you can’t afford Scholar runes, you can use Rune of the Ranger, or Ruby Orbs (they are the absolute cheapest option).
For WvW solo or small group roaming, D/P or S/P is generally the way to go in my opinion. D/P has the better dueling potential, while S/P is significantly better at soloing supply camps. The cleave on S/P coupled with the defense of Black Powder (and the evades on Pistol Whip) make it one of the easier specs to solo a camp with, across all classes, in my experience. Daggerstorm is nice for soloing camps as well, but can obviously be run with any set of weapons.
Ultimately though, play both builds (or try some others if you wish) and decide what you like to play. S/P is better at capping camps, but I personally don’t like the playstyle as much, and thus don’t play it often. A friend of mine who I roam with frequently (though not always on my thief) really enjoys D/D, and he still captures camps.
Another thing to consider is that capturing camps is, in my opinion, far less important than performance during an actual fight. I’d rather have a build that’s terrible at capturing camps but awesome against other players than the a build where the opposite is true.
Also, what does it mean, that they “remove” pvp chests?
Does this also include the unopned chests I have in the inventory?
I’d like to know this as well. I’ve been saving my chests, hoping they will update and/or improve rewards in the future.
I agree with a previous poster that said that one month prior to the removal of glory is not an “advance warning,” but I also think that the soon we as players start receiving rewards better than glory, the better off the PvP aspect of this game will be. Rewards attract more players, and I’m all for them.
I have far more glory boosters than I can ever use, and ever since they’ve announced the future removal of glory I’ve been using them 24/7. When they remove glory, I’ll still have a ton of glory boosters, and will lose them all. Is it an ideal situation? No, and I would like to get at least something minor for them. However, the vast majority of PvP players have always had more glory boosters than they can ever use, and I recognize that the ease of obtaining them means they are relatively worthless. If I don’t get anything for them, that is less preferable, but fine nevertheless.
I can play the following builds:
Warrior: Sw/Sw + LB (condi), Hammer + LB, Hammer + Mace/Sh, Hammer + Axe/X
Guardian: Bunker (weapons vary, generally hammer + mace/shield or staff + mace/shield), meditation DPS
Mesmer: Shatter
I also have a Necromancer and an Engineer but have little experience with them. I am a fast learner and am willing to put in the effort to succeed. I listed the above builds because I have experience with them, but I am willing to try new builds and will run whatever the team deems optimal. I have TS3 and a mic, any further questions mail me in game.
Hint: you can also solo the boulders and the gate lock
How would one going about doing this?
Very interested in this
Character: Sammich Khan, Guardian. Also have Warrior fully geared, just have to stop being lazy and get him to the gates of Arah ~.~
Gear: Have full berserker exotic and full knight’s exotic
Traited: Switch between AH and 0/30/0/30/10 depending on what is needed.
Experience: None in Arah
Time: Afternoons/early evenings most weekdays. Pretty much never on weekends.
Other: Have no issues skipping trash, or killing it all. Either way is fine with me. Want to complete DM and get a full Arah set for my Mesmer, and looking at the site you guys do FotM too, which I enjoy as well.
Dragonbrand is open as of the time of this post.
