About enemies resetting/invulnerable...

I only recently started having this issue. I noticed that it happens a lot more with lower FPS, it’s like the mob doesn’t recognize you are there, then it does again. I am wondering if the bug on this is more related to connectivity issues that everyone has been having the last few weeks, rather than preference of how to ‘contain’ mobs.

I like the story idea to this instead of basic grinding.
I am not sure why someone would be upset about having hard times or limited methods to get top gear. I also agree that it is ‘top gear’ it shouldn’t be an option for someone to ‘google’ then using $$$ get it in 20 minutes either.

No I don’t have any gear, I am not sure I even understand the whole current process. I have only just started the process, but I can tell you that ‘fun’ isn’t watching TV while I repeated hit the “1” and “2” key for a few hours, hoping to get what I need. Rinse and Repeat for the next XXX months.

As for Halloween event… You didn’t have to follow the story to accomplish things. If you make that a requirement then people either will or they won’t get the ‘best of the best’ gear.

I agree with this, actually, with today’s maintenance there were a few other things to point out.
1) The client would give an error code to me of 42.0.9001.3858.101 which according to the support site is likely due to firewall settings on my PC. The client should know ahead of time if the port is blocked on via communcations or if is a port forwarding issue on the server side (message like: Login Services aren’t available at this time). After clicking OK a ‘invalid user id / password’ would show up no the main form.

2) When using the client there is a link for “Forgot my Password”, using that it opens a new web page that said the feature was currently unavailable. However, if you went to guildwars2.com and used Login > Forgot my password you would actually get the form displayed but then be told that you were doing something wrong.

With both inconsitancies I wasn’t sure if I was being hacked at the time. I was in game having issues so I knew it was related to upgrade (intuitively) but shouldn’t really have to make that leap.

I would also recommend that if login services are down then it gets added to a main page instead of relying on people searching foums. New people that are logging in for the first time (just purchased) don’t really know how to use that feature.

Please don’t get me wrong, I understand unforseen issues and developments efforts to resolve as soon as possible. This is really meant as constructive feedback and suggestion to lessen the frustration on the gamers side. I have no issue w/ game going down to do improvements, but, I also need to know it’s not my computer (or spending 20 minutes troubleshooting my PC).

Hope this is helpful.

Video Card Crash

I have an issue in a specific area that will cause my video card to crash. Both screen will turn ‘purple’ usually and the sound card will play feedback like it is interrupted. The only way to resolve this is to unplug the computer, wait for the video card to cool off, then do a restart. Soft booting will not fix the displays even during BIOS evaluation.
I was able to complete the story by going into windows mode, changed Settings Preset from Best Appearance to Best Performance and manually sized the windows to about 1/3 of my visible desktop.

The storyline is “Bad Blood”. The spot is when you are running over the walkways to avoid the wind. I also get this outside of the story mode in exactly the same spots. For those that don’t have the story it is in area Lonar’s Pass, just south west of Pinnacle enclave Waypoint.

My current computer configuration is:
Processor: AMD Phenom™ 9950 Quad-Core Processor 2.60GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System
Windows 7 Professional

My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
NVIDIA Control Panel Version 4.8.750.0

I didn’t change any of the default application 3D settings on the video card, but here they are for reference:
Ambient Occlusion: Off
Anisotropic Filtering: Application Controlled
Anitaliasing
- FXAA: Not Supported
- Gamma correction: Off
- Mode: Application Controlled
- Setting: Application Controlled
- Transparency: Off
CUDA – GPUs: All
Maximum pre-rendered frames: 3
Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration: All
Power Management Mode: Multi Display Performance
Texture Filtering
- Anisotrip sample optimization: Off
- Negative LOD Bias: Allow
- Quality: Quality
- Tilinear Optimization: On
Threaded Option: Auto
Triple Buffering: Off
Verticle Synch: Use 3D Application Settings

I have not taken any options in my BIOS for overclocking, etc.

I have changed my secondary monitor to be my primary monitor and I use that one for the game play, usually on Best Appearance Manually sizing the window to take up the fill area of the desktop (2560 × 1600) this is on a HP LP3065 (31") monitor.
Please let me know if you need any more details on this.

[Sollution] Condition Stacking & Boons

I think replies like “If you can’t see what’s wrong with this, then something’s wrong with you.” are more attacking then constructive. I personally don’t see anything wrong with the system as it is now in relating to this area. If there was an improvement or modification to it, then the other suggestion about a ‘super’ would make more sense to me.

I believe that what is missing here is that the conditional damage can be area based, where as the attack methods are more single target. Even for the ones that do area it is a far less Range then it is on some other coniditional. Also take into account that melee jobs can also land conditional based, hat means they get more too. If you wanted to ‘even’ it out. Maybe ignore the stack of conditional from the melee since they are doing more direct damage then the ranged is. Just my thoughts, but again, I don’t see a problem with how this is working now, only that people want to claim they can do more damage to a mob.

Runiir, I completely agree with you on this. I do not see this as a huge problem.

Nurvus, no offense. I appreciate the amount of time and thought that went into your suggestion for this. With that said, you have really attacked anyone that doesn’t agree completely with your idea. Two others offered a ‘middle of the line solution’ (which I agree with more)
