Corpse scouting has been going on a while and yes, I agree with you that it is no bueno. Either method you mentioned would fix the issue although I think that it is tough enough to kill a guy twice without adding yet another death to the list of tasks that I have to perform in combat.

You are 100% correct about the invulnerability ring. Trouble is, that is not what I am talking about. I might not have described it too well so here goes a different description of the issue at the Northern supply camp exit:

Walk out of the glowing door (red/green/blue) hang an immediate left. Walk to the edge of the arch that surrounds the glowing door and hang another left. You will note that you are now facing a cliff that you cannot get up to re-enter your invuln zone. There is no invuln icon but, you cannot be damaged with direct damage for some reason. AOEs might work, I do not have the means to test it. Its a glitch and some are exploiting it.

The same sort of thing happens in the SW supply camp. You do not have the invuln buff AFTER you jump off the cliff into the supply camp area but there is a spot that allows you to avaoid taking any damage.

I would like that VERY much, yes. But I would also like the act to stop. I have seen it fighting Crystal Desert and IoJ as well, I just did not know how to get the details of the offenders account back then or I would have posted their account info at that time.

I am not a fan of cheater, hackers or (off topic) those who pirate software. I am over 40 now and have seen all three types ruin perfectly good games over the years. I do not want to see that happen again here and I am MORE than willing to “Name Names” if it will help.

FYI to DR and FC – We (Kaineng) have a botting issue just East of our spawn on the DR map. 6 bots killing the sharks over and over again. I have whispered a few of your guys to go gettum but this post might be more effective. Please kill them repeatedly as I cannot.

Besides, I am too occupied killing the DR bots up north near the spiders (on DR Borderlands map) and the Ferg bots in the lake (on the Ferg Borderlands map) even if I DID have the ability to kill toons on my own server.

As an aside – please report the accounts just prior to farming them for badges. I know that it feels a LOT like relieving yourself into a strong headwind but I still hold out hope that someone at Anet will eventually address this issue.

I was sure that someone must have reported this before I noticed it but a search of the forum gave no results so…

There are more than a few folks taking advantage of the fact that if you stand in a few spots on the WvW maps, you cannot be damaged. These spots are generally small sharp inclines that, if stood upon, make you invulnerable. One spot is just to the left of the exit gate that leads to the Northernmost supply camp (Titanpaw for example). Another is the cliff in the SW supply camp that prevents you from re-entering your side’s spawn location. You can back up onto it and not be hit.

Is this a known issue? If so, how do we report those that exploit it? There is no “Report the Skill-less” option in the game client. Not that I can find anyway.

When I whispered him to let him know that I would bring this to Anet’s attention he let me know that he was not scared, Anet would do nothing and that I was an idiot for thinking that a ban/sanction would result. Is he right, Anet?

Reforming D/D Glass Cannon Thief looking...

…for a mentor. I am a WvW player almost to exclusion and have tried a condition build. IMHO it takes too long to down an enemy with a condition build in WvW as you never know how many friends he has incoming/when they plan to appear.

Next up was the glass cannon BS build. All Beserkers, armor, weapons, trinkets, etc. Works wonders at getting THAT guy killed, and quickly. Trouble is, there is often 2 or (gasp) maybe three guys and I do not like spending the 30-40 secs after downing the first one running for my life. Soo….

Now I am shooting for a POW/VIT/TOUGH build and hoping beyond hope that it has enough damage to satisfy while keeping me alive and in the fight long enough to down more than one NME. I want to be flexible enough to melee and keep range with stealth abilities but not an all stealth build. Basically a balanced thief that still has some effect. I went ahead and got the WvW Invaders set armor-wise and I am thinking S/P as a main weapon set. I am looking for advice though so I am flexible.

Is there anyone out there in Thief-dom who is playing a like build and is willing to be free with advice? Some of the questions that I would ask are:

1. How many HP are enough?
2. What about toughness?
3. If you are using Invaders armor, how did you rune it?
4. Did you stay POW/TOU/VIT with your jewelry? What about your weapons?
5. Did I neglect to ask any other relevant quesions?

Advanced warning before new builds

Its basic courtesy to your players to give them advanced warning when you are going to take the game down for a patch.

Pretty much all other companies do this, why doesn’t Arenanet?

Likely for the same reason that it takes hours for us to be told what the patch “fixed”. It’s almost as if the patches are a surprise to ANet. Both in timing AND in content.

As to why that would be the case, I can’t help ya.

Most Imbalanced Match in GW2 History?

The current score of the Blackgate / Henge of Denravi / Eredon Terrace match is approx. 255k / 11k / 10k

Out of morbid curiosity, is this in fact the most imbalanced match yet or have there been other “super fun, glad I’m playing” matches like this?

Any idea from the vox populi? Has any other match beaten the much vaunted “10 times the combined enemy scores” mark as of yet?

ANet, do you have any historical data that we could draw on to answer this question? While we are at it, we could use that SAME data to make a graph showing the decline of relative entertainment levels vs number of server transfers.

I’ll lay 5g that the descending “fun” line crosses the rising “# of transfers” line on the graph at juuuuuust about the point that the free transfers went into effect. Any takers?

Run. x3 Infiltrator’s Arrow will outpace most anyone. Add to that your Signet of Shadows passive run buff and you should be good.

Failing that, stealth and hide behind something / pass through your pursuers and end up behind them running the other way.

Failing THAT, pop Shadow Trap and, when they set it off, run the other direction while stealthed.

Failing even THAT, turn a corner, pop Shadow Refuge and, once they pass by, run the other way.

You will be surprised how few WvWers look behind them…

There is basically no excuse for an aware Thief to be caught when trying to escape, save some REALLY bad luck. And having said that: Good Luck to you
