Hint Completion Achievement Bugged

-Server: Tarnished Coast
-Map/location: Entire game in general
-Character info(level, race, profession): All characters
-How to reproduce issue: I’m not entirely sure, try to complete the Hint Completion achievement in hero and find several that you get but don’t get checked off, reach the 80’s and get unlucky enough for several checks not to count?

I especially cannot seem to fulfill either of the 2 remaining WvW hints “score” or “traveling to WvW” despite having followed the directions for both on multiple characters in every WvW map.

Even so, I actually have 85 items checked off but my achievement progress still says 81/83

For those having a similar problem, I also had issues with filling my mailbox. I discovered that game-generated mail does not count for hint completion, only player mail, and you must receive an 11th mail, get the full icon, and delete a piece to receive the extra mail before the hint pops up. THEN you have to click on the hint and it should show up within the next few seconds to a few minutes.

I’ve gotten super-delayed hints before.

I have only 4 more checks that I can get, and of those 4, I’ve tried multiple times for two of them (the WvW) from different areas and characters. I’m fairly sure I can get the last one for guardians in skills and traits when I start playing my guardian.

The last one, laurels…well, as you can see, I have 40 laurels, all earned from over 5 different characters. I’ve even seen the laurel achievement at least once, including recently, on multiple characters. It is still not checked off in the list.

Edit to add: I actually have earned far more laurels than I currently have, I bought several things though.

Character Name Display Request

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I did search for this topic (both in google and these forums directly) and only found it on other websites, rather than these forums.

The gameplay has been great and the graphics look awesome (I’m actually new to the guild wars series, started last week).

What I would like to see is (or at least I think it is) rather simple, actually. I come from WOW and LOTRO which both allow this and I’ve missed it while playing here. That’s the simple ability to see my own name as well as others…I also would like to see my own portrait that other people see when clicking on me.

I like to call this the mirror effect. I’ve gotten so use to the target and name mirrors in other games, that I dislike their absence here. It’s not a big deal, I suppose, and it’s not like I’ll forget my own name. Granted I can see what my character looks like, overall, but these are both visuals other people see when looking at me. I’d like to “check them in the mirror” to make sure my title or shortened guild name doesn’t look awful with my name, or just to satisfy my weird curiosity for what other people are seeing when they look at me/target me/etc.

I’m actually not obsessed with mirrors in reality though, but I do check them before going out to make sure my shirt isn’t half tucked into my underwear. Since names are visual in the game (as are target icons), I lump them under appearance maintenance.

Also, on more than one occasion in WOW and LOTRO I’ve completely recreated a character because what I liked in character selection wasn’t visually appealing over my character’s head. I’ve also tinkered with guild/kinship names in both games, titles, etc. because what I wanted actually looked sloppy or just way over-done hovering over my head (ie wait where’s my name in this whole mess…I don’t even wanna read all of this, let alone expecting other people to).

Hopefully, especially if it is a rather simple thing in code, we may see it implemented in the future.

Or, am I just blind and they’ve already installed this feature and I just can’t locate it? All I found was for turning other people’s names on, while still holding mine in the blind spot.

Thanks for reading either way!
