How rewarding was it for you personally?
Server pride, achievement title, feeling of accomplishing hard content, whatever it may be. Was it worth waiting the hours and camping the spots?
Is it worth attempting to kill him again now that you understand how it’s done? Or are you too fed up in having to deal with multiple variables that guarantee failure just because of the map you were placed in.
I’m trying very hard to grasp why I should continue trying through the multiple failed attempts (in both my server and in guested servers). I want the achievements, and I want to feel the rush of fun hearing 60+ people in TeamSpeak talk about unicorns again. That was a kitten attempt that actually net us the 75% mark, it was a great improvement than the first serious attempt! But that 75% HP mark was it, it hasn’t gotten any lower since. And because of that, other players have insulted and kittented upon our effort even though our group was the one who organized and did it. Is the meager taste of winning worth the hours of watching my own home server demoralize each other?
On a side note : I am well aware that there are guilds and servers guesting to low population servers to help out, but I’m interested in knowing how many of those who won stick around to teach/share the information with others. It’s apparent that only the guilds who organized and have defeated it, are the only ones who return to do so. The others who fought and won with them seem to have left with their achievement, leaving the rest of their server SOL.
Answering “no” to the first question nulls 2 and 3.
Here’s what it’d look like as Sylvari.

Personally I prefer male LA on a Sylvari, it’s more battle oriented and utility-wise does more than a flowing gown hanging off my leg.
*Edit: Not to mention I find it funnily easier for a Sylvari to accidentally set themselves on fire if they don’t have anything to cover their bare… leaves?

If you have a specific class in mind, you can gear it towards that.
ex: Mesmer ? “Target Dummy”
If you really want to keep your character identity, you can add accents to specific letters (á, é, í, ó, ú, ü, etc).
Just note that capitalized characters will not be allowed to pass off as other characters mid-name
ex: cannot fake Illusion with 2 capitalized i’s in the middle
From what I’ve seen, Guardians with GS can easily gather mobs and obliterate. It’ll just take some time.
From experience, axe/shield is very effective even if you’re traited for something else. 4 stacks of vuln from Axe 2 for 8 seconds compared to 1 stack of vuln from GS for 8 seconds (plus bleed). One of my favorites is sword/shield because of the massive bleeds I can inflict, if the bleed is high enough it’s almost as good as the mob dying to a single heavy blow.
I’ve yet to try sword/warhorn for solo PVE, but in dungeon instances the sword/warhorn warrior usually outlives my GS/axe warrior 80% of the time (watching their HP shoot up from their traited heals is impressive).
If your char can make it, I recommend taking both chars to northern Mt. Maelstrom into the spider area to test the variety. It may not be the best, but it’s alright considering that there is a vet spider that travels with a group of smaller ones that ought to make you keep an eye on your health for a bit.
Same, although I let the download run through. It got to maybe 15% before it said “Connection Failed”, then I closed it and came up with the same screen as you did.
