You have to view crafting and RNG loot drops from the status of the original game release:
>> You picked up whatever you got that was close to your level (!)
>> You used the Heart/Karma vendors to get trinkets
>> you switched out “bad stats” with a crafted item (not too often, because you did not have enough fine crafting mats)
>> You usually made a happy dance to get a rare or exotic item from map completion you could wearWhen you reached Lvl 80, you wore a mix of green, are and perhaps two or three exotic items and piece by piece replaced trinkets with the temple karma ones. You had a basic green back pack (and the first Mad Memories was the first improvement you got)
Now, years later there is no levelling that makes use of anything you stated out with when the game was new. You can insta-buff a character to level 80 and wrap him in exotic of your liking.
The RNG loot drops, crafting and world wise karma vendors are still locked at the release state.
Heh I just started up playing again after being away for a few years and that is EXACTLY what my guy was equipped with.
Cooking has a lot of ingredients you craft that are then used in other recipes.
Some examples:
Ball of dough
Bowl of candy corn glaze
Bowl of ice cream base
Bowl of poultry stock
Bowl of meat stock
Buttermilk biscuit
Cinnamon apple
Loaf of bread
Bottle of simple dressingAnd a bunch more.
I’d also like to emphasize the various types of vision crystals. It’s never made sense that something mainly used to craft ascended equipment was never in the material storage.
For some reason, the song Material Girl by Madonna popped into my head. xD
So much this. Trying to level a cook without just power-leveling the same five recipes is an exercise in frustration and will end with zero free inventory in no time.
Back items are aesthetically displeasing, along with shoulder and many headpieces.
That is all.
Say that to my Mad Memoires: Complete edition…SAY IT.
How about a food store
Allowing us cooks to store those bits of recipes in progress:
Eg food/ parts- eg cookie dough etc — these are component parts which need to be combined with many other ingredients to get a final item.Crafting toolbox
Somewhere to put all those intermediate items we are crafting before we get to the final item. It’s annoying selling a helm casing/sword component which you’ll use a few months later for a new toon.
YES, so much YES. My poor ele can’t even swap bags right now she’s so loaded down with random bread dough and soup stock.
I’m a mainoholic (rare species), I have one main at 80 and an alt at lvl 2 that carries my extra crap.
Hello kindred spirit! I’m in the same boat. I’ve got one lvl80 that I play pretty much exclusively. A lvl 30 alt (via one of those upgrade scrolls) that I dabble around with when I want to play someone “cute”.
Oh and one beta toon I’ll probably be dumping after the beta.
One thing I would consider pulling over would be the lobby / training area. Surprised me when there was a whole set of tutorials for running siege, finishing enemies, and whatnot.
Do you mean Magister Sieran?
And Trahaerne just fit in too well to make a little fun of his controversial personality xD
Ack, yeah, I can’t ever seem to get her name right.
I also found her death too soon, and too contrived.
I think that’s my issue with her death, not that she died or that she sacrificed herself, it’s that it happened far too quickly. I would have added another two or three missions to the story. You go from “Hey new guy!” to “Let’s go have an adventure friend!” to “I will die so you can live!” in about that many missions. It’s just too accelerated of an arc to really feel right.
The toys could be miniatures, that would be cool xD
sylvari: mini Trahaerne (:D)
human: mini Countess Anise
charr: mini Tybalt
asura: mini Tixx
norn: mini Kodan
….and Xmas gift would be: mini quaggan O.o <3
A mini Trahaerne?!?! What have the sylvari ever done to you!
EDIT: Make it a miniature Sierin and we’ll talk.
I feel kind of bad this week, I haven’t been able to devote any time to WvW so far and probably won’t be able to for the rest of this match.
Fight on my brothers and sisters FOR MAGUUMAAAAA!!!
I’ll admit that the lack of a 3rd team hurts Maguuma quite a bit since Mag does …backdoor better then most servers
Giggidy….that is all.
I dunno if boredom is the right word but I do get a sense of futility(?) from it some times. As another post said it just feels like your going around in circles with no clear sense of victory save a final point score. It almost feels like there needs to be another map between each borderland. Something to make it feel like you are pushing into another territory or driving out invaders, right now the near instant re-spawn just feels like holding a keep is pointless outside of the point tally.
If it was the east tower on the Mag borderland I think we all just got lucky after a group wipe. I don’t remember even hearing the call to head to it just a slowly massing zerg formed.
But this bit was unintentionally funny, because Trahearne is such a fey, pseudo-Shakespearian flouncer.
Really, when I was playing my sylvari I wanted to say, “Well Mom, I guess I know who’s your favorite son… I’ll be sure and visit you in the old tree home… yeah…”
No doubt, I just had a little sad that ole Mom acted like she didn’t even recognize me during that part.
I liked the look of them and their personality is great. I love my mesmer and wouldn’t trade him for anything but I’m not sure if I’d create another Sylvari. I was a bit annoyed at some of the story and was much happier with things once I got into the Priory. The grove unfortunately doesn’t have anything on Divinity’s Reach even if it is well designed and fits with the theme perfectly, I tend to not go back there unless I have to.
I must just be picky.
Maguuma love fest engage!
The couple of times I’ve rolled around on WvW has been a blast. Sad we’re getting roflstomped right now. When we get a group going that knows what it’s doing it’s quite a sight to behold. I know I was in a few fights where we went from not controlling anything to owning the entire borderlands in about an hour or two.
And thanks to all my fellow Magumma brethren for putting up with the most ineffective mesmer ever.
