To make my point a little bit more clear on new skills, I want new skills in the existing skill categories, not new skill categories with new skills in them.

All that you’re asking for is also asked by many players here, but more as a “skill overhaul” patch than an X-Pac.
There’s been rants about HoT being a half-baked expansion, that’s why an X-Pac without elite specs would get an even worse reception, should it only include the overhaul you’re asking for.

Anyway, I agree about the issue you’re raising : new elite specs will have to be really potent so that people see the expansion as useful from the skills point of view. I also think the next elite specs may become the new standard, which would fail bringing diversity as the elite specs claimed.

The only solution I can see in that is have a much much higher frequency of elite specs releases, and also skills overhauls as you’re asking for (those ones free of charge of course). But that’s not what ANet’s gonna do, unfortunately

Thanks for the response, I would personally value an expansion with more varied content and quality campaign than another batch of elite specs. A skill overhaul would also be a nice addition to the expansion, of course everyone would get it whether they bought the expansion or not. Finally, my point is that it’s time for a new expansion soon, the living story is nice but not for more than 2-3 days and I would like to see in the expansion that skill overhaul and a more quality campaign, not new elite specs.

Ok, so probably this has been discussed waaaaay back but i’ll post my thoughts anyway since I haven’t personally seen any threads like this one. So I have a problem with 9 Elite specs every expansion because that would require the new elite specs to be really good so people don’t say new content is useless but that would also make the old stuff (even more) useless as we have seen this expansion. So my suggestion is: just add a few skills to existing skill categories, redesign or simply change the numbers on old skills so they are more useful, add some new options in existing trait trees and give new weapons to classes that need them (so maybe not all). That seems like it would make more players happy, be easier for anet and considerably slow down the power creep that comes with constantly adding new skills. Any thoughts?

By the hint, it really looks like we’re going to the jungle to possibly fight the dragon. Speculating on the story, I would like to be helped by someone more interesting than freaking Rox or Braham or the detective girls, tbh. Yesterday, I saw a person I had totally forgotten – Dougal Keane from the first Guild Wars 2 book. He was freaking awesome there and says that he still craves adventure in the game, I’d like some of him if not this patch, then later. Also, maybe it’s time to get Destiny’s Edge off their kitten again.

It’s exactly the fact that they are awesome bosses that makes me want to actually be able to fight them. But I guess because some of the players like organising events, the rest of us get nothing. It’s not even the rewards, they’re probably bad as was said earlier. It’s the awesome bosses that anet spent their time on and that might as well not be in the game for A LOT of people. It’s stuff like this that creates the constant complaints that we aren’t getting any content.

These two bosses were specifically added for people who want the challenge of organising a group to defeat them.

There are in fact significant numbers of people who do fight these bosses on a regular basis, and succeed. And they love doing it. At the moment they don’t have anything else in the game that offers that level of challenge, whereas more casual players who want to play solo or in smaller groups have a huge number of options.

I haven’t been able to beat either, and I’ve rarely made a serious attempt (I think once for the wurm and twice for tequatl) because I’m not interested in devoting that much time to fighting one boss.

But that doesn’t bother me at all because I don’t need to be able to beat them. All I’m missing out on is some achievements and possibly some unique skins (I’m not sure if they’re tradeable or not because I haven’t looked).

So as far as I’m concerned there is no reason to ruin other peoples fun when there is already more than enough for small groups to do.

Also I don’t understand how a queue system would help organisation. Wouldn’t that just means you’re forced into a group with whoever queued up at the same time you did, instead of being able to form and organise your own group?

I don’t see how a queue system would ruin their fun, they still get to make their groups, they just need to enter a queue and get into an instanced version of the map with a party or maybe something bigger like a squad so they can bring all their friends? Then they would join other people and parties. Believe me, it will be leagues better for everyone, not just me and the people who couldn’t do it. I don’t know, I’m not a dev, I’m sure that anet can figure it out though, if they decide to take some of their time. I want to experience the whole game, I get that you don’t and I respect that but I do (and a lot of people I’ve read on map chat). It wouldn’t ruin anybody’s fun, they’re the same bosses.

The way these two bosses are right now have no place in the game imo. Asking a lot of times random people in the zone (not all of which are fighting the bosses mind you) to be able to cooperate and all know the strategy perfectly is a bit too much. It’s almost impossible for people who play solo or in a small group to defeat these bosses unless they get super lucky and land on a great overflow. The way things are right now is not fair at all. What I suggest is that there would be some kind of queue for these bosses and you get a daily try (or can just earn the reward once a day as it is now). Of course, level 80s only and possibly some kind of weapon/armor requirement. Finally, before you all jump at me and say that I’m just a casual, I want to remind you that you can only contribute so much to these bossfights on your own or with a 5-man party. Also, I’m not asking for any kind of nerfs to them, I just want the boss fights to be more organised since they do require a significant amount of organisation themselves. A lot of people, including myself, have long since stopped trying to defeat them as it has little to no point.
Of course, you can think of other ways to fix them but please take some measures!

Realistically, you need at least 3 times more men to win a siege and here i have the feeling that you can win 1:1 pretty easily by aoe on the walls (this should be disabled like asap) and roflstomping the weak keep lord.

Would you please make PvP mode without capture or points? I mean a 2v2 or 1v1 arena, it would be great to have pure PvP.

I too hope that ANet plans to add more personal story after defeating Zhaitan. I think it’s strange that suddenly everything is magically solved after the big bad guy is gone, I would like to go out and tackle the big mess the dragons have left behind them and maybe even discover new threats.

Also how is it that even in your world there ares still risen dragging there feet around everywhere when you have killed the source of them, surely your world after Zhaitans demise would be free of them ? So everything is not magically solved or just bad story writing.

After you kill the dragon, they say Orr still needs cleansing so here’s your answer. There is no way to remove or reduce the risen because there will always be new players that haven’t done the story yet and you know that very well! For continuation of the story, I would like to see Trehearne die because he is annoying as hell and useless to the story (he already fulfilled the purpose of his life so please rid us of him and introduce new interesting characters). Good luck Anet!
