Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this post.
Without further ado I’ll jump straight in. In my humble opinion the current UI is lacking a few options that would make the Guild Wars 2 experience that much more enjoyable and would like to know if you guys are working on improving it.
Next I’ll share some of the features I think would be useful:
1. The ability to remove or move and resize different parts of the interface. This could be useful in the following situations:
- removing the notifications from the upper right corner of the screen
- moving and rescaling the target bar to avoid accidentally casting AoE spells at our current location
- moving and rescaling the buff/condition bar, useful on higher resolutions where the buff/debuff icons are incredibly small and put an unnecessary amount of strain on our eyes
- switching features like the minimap from right to left. This is important due to ocular dominance, the tendency to prefer visual input from one eye over the other.
2. The option to show healthbars only. Either we turn all names off and are unaware of the position of nearby allies/enemies or watch as our screen is filled with a wall of text comprised of names that:
- reduces framerate
- obscures important information
- is distracting and generally uninformative
3. A clearly defined current target. As it stands our current target can be easily obscured by particle effects to the point where we have no idea what it is doing. This could easily be solved by making the outline that you get by hovering over a target with the mouse permanent.
Thank you for reading and I wish you the best!

Are you looking for a place to call home? Look no further! We’re a tight-knit group that seeks to create a fun and relaxed environment in which we can enjoy all aspects of the game.
About us:
Our community is a helpful one, you only need to ask for it and we’ll lend you a hand. If you’re a newbie geared in full blues and can’t seem to walk two feet before getting killed, don’t worry, we’ll keep you safe! It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or if you’re a veteran, you’re always welcome among us!
- Guild missions: Every Sunday we gather ‘round and have a blast doing all the missions available.
- Instanced PvE: Most of our members have already had a brush with all dungeons and fractals so it’s safe to say you won’t have to look far for experienced dungeoneers.
- World PvE: We’re part of an association of guilds called the Gw2community which organizes events such as Triple Trouble, Tequatl and Tier 6 Dry Top among others. World bosses beware!
- sPvP & WvW: We already have members that are dedicated PvPers but are looking to expand these areas once we’ve hit a relatively high number of players so we’d be able to host our own WvW raids.
What we expect:
First and foremost we expect you to have fun! Beside that you only need to install team speak 3 and join the GW2community server where we’re hosting our channel.
Recruitment:
If you’d like to join us you can whisper SebastianBN.4685, Reyoku.5016 or Sasou.4068.
We’re looking forward to meet you!
In my opinion, the interface is far from clean. Maybe it suits you, and I’m glad it does, but there are many who do not share your enthusiasm. And even if by some miracle addons will be supported, there’s no reason for you to use them.
I think GW1 had a feature that allowed you to reposition your UI (essentially an UI Addon), making the current situation look like a step backwards.
With the expansion just around the corner, I was wondering if Anet will support UI addons or any addons for that matter in their upcoming title. It would be nice to have some degree of control over our interface, seeing as how it doesn’t give an unfair advantage.
