will there be individual mix and match pieces in future releases? Or will they all be complete sets?
We will continue to release mix and match armor skin pieces
Really? that’s the only thing you’re replying to? What about all the other questions that have arisen after your longer post that have remained unanswered?
Some of the questions that have been unanswered for:
Q1: Which town clothes are making the switch to outfits and which to Tonics exactly. You haven’t been clear with this in the slightest. Are you going to turn glasses into an endless tonic and just slap an entire set of clothes on it? Or what?
Q2: How give outfits and single set outfits more variety when it’s blatantly making things more limited?
Q3: Why turning things like hoodies/cargo pants and such in tonics and not in a 4th ‘armour set’ which are only ccompitable with other ‘town cloth’ type armours. It does not make sense to remove that. There was a reason they were called TOWN CL.OTHES.
Q4: Why are refunds ONLY offered on items that become endless tonics and not items which are glued together to a single set? You are changing something we bought in a way we would never have purchased it in the first place if it was a single set. Removing the ability to mix and match is horrible no matter how you turn it. You have not given enough good reasons for us to see this is a good change. Perhaps it’s a convienance change for Anet but horrible for the players for sure.
Q5: Why should I even bother buying anything in the Gem store anymore cosmetics wise when you can just screw over people by changing things on a whim and only accepting refunds on half of the stuff that got changed.

So from april 15th Im supposed to run around with that INCREDIBLE UGLY wintersday hat instead of the cute earmuffs I bought with REAL money on my asura. The hat makes her bald…. I’m having tears in my eyes I spend my hard earned honest money to buy gems for these outfits.
And the witch outfit? I deleted the hat because it was ugly and I didnt have the space. I gave my char a different witch hat that looked much more awesome. Not possible anymore? And no more colouring the town clothes? So we have to deal with the non personal colours your team picks out?
Removing restrictions you call it. Adding annoying new restrictions is what I and the entire rest of the community calls it. At least if I see the reactions.
ANET: I think this is the moment you can show the side where you listnen to your community and stop this before it goes life. You have two weeks left to tell your programmers to take out this rediculous move on towns clothing. YOUR COMMUNITY is asking. And if you don’t believe the over 1200 replies here. Give it a vote system. And realy listen to the community.
Yeah, the the way they’re handling townsclothes is pretty abysmal and a slap in the face for anyone who ever purchased them. Even if only a small % of people purchased those it’s still something people paid real money with to acquire.
The worst part is that there’s no way to get a refund monetary wise since every refund will be in gems. So even if you get a refund out of principle it doesn’t matter since it doesn’t lose Anet any money. Long term they could lose revenue of course since I’m very unlikely to purchase things again if things change like this.
People are so much fanboying whatever game is better. Having pre-ordered Wildstar myself after spending a few months in the beta I’m personally really enjoying it. There are things Wildstar does better then Guild Wars (or just different) and there’s things that Guild Wars 2 is better at.
Also, I feel the two games are more complimentary then competing with each other. Guild Wars 2 doesn’t has the end game of raiding and stuff (and warplots and various things). The housing in Wildstar is amazing and so is the combat. (I love the Esper and Stalker in particular)
The combat in Wildstar I find a lot better, and there is a strong sense of progression as you level through the game unlike Guild Wars 2 where everything scales when you go back to lower level zones. Sure, you do more damage then at lvl 1 but not enough to feel as rewarding.
It is that combat that carries the game so much. Without the strong combat the old style of questing would become incredibly dull really fast.
I personally love the artsyle of Wildstar and the fact that the game’s zones are seamlessly connected without loading times. Only switching between continents and going off the planet is a loading time. that’s something I did miss from WoW.
Dungeon design is one of the best I’ve ever seen in the mmo landscape. They blow the dungeons of Guild Wars 2 out of the water.
Housing is really incredible and very flexible as well. if you’re the vampire kind of person you can put your bed on the ceiling if you really want to.
Now all that being said, although Wildstar looks fantastic in artstyle I don’t think it’s engine is as impressive as the one of Guild Wars 2 on a technical level. Things like hair etc are done better in Guild Wars 2. The characters in Guild Wars 2 definitly have more weight to them, whilst Wildstar is a lot more bouncy. For some this is good, for others not so much.
Alseo, one thing I really like in Wildstar is the fact that you can put on armor of all three types (light/medium/heavy) in the costume slot without limitations (well, you can’t do it with weapons, rest is fair game)
I hate the changes to all of this so much and I think ANet is shooting themselves in the foot with this. That being said, what I’m even more upset about is the absolute horrible commincation from Curtis Johnson. Many of his answers simply don’t make any sodding sense and is making the situation so much more unnececarily frustrating.
