if they give too much advantage to winning a wvw matchup, people would just mass flood that winning server. it’s already happening, and there’s not much incentive to win other than prestige.
@ Matt Witter
Why does your Wiki say people will be able to make a party with up to 30 people in it? thats the only reason why I paid 100 gold for the commander upgrade.I tought it would be cool to make a party / alliance with 30 of your guild members, so you can make a large group and have fun all togather.
Basicly I just threw away 100 gold and all the admins would say if I would make a ticket is “bad luck, cant help you”.
The guy or woman who posted that information on the wiki was clearly not knowing the facts straight, and the user has to pay for it (me in this case) cause they pay the crazy amount of 100 gold for something (in my eyes) which is totally not needed since 90% of the people I know (my guild for example) uses TeamSpeak or what ever communication device to talk and coordinate people.
So please remove that false information from your wiki and I hope you guys will get your stuff straighten out cause this is no fun at all. I could have gotten a load of crafts to 400 with that 100 gold which I (my personal opinion) just threw out of the window.
wikis are run by the community. it’s not something arenanet is doing.
They either need to make it account bound or add an item in the shop to lets us turn stuff account bound (soulbind on use) so we can char swap them.
More money for them right?
Kinda lame when you make a new char and/or abandon an old char and the soulbound stuff is just wasted.
it’s more money for them when you need to buy the thing for every character again and again.
here are some issues i’ve gathered from the last 4 patches. note that these were not the only bugs, just some of the more obvious that should have been spotted when they tested their feature even once.
in the september 17th patch, this bug was introduced and quickly hotfixed:
-Fixed a bug that allowed the Iron Hide buff to persist after a player stopped using a flame ram.
in the september 3rd patch, a couple of bugs regarding SAB achievements were introduced and quickly hotfixed:
-Fixed a bug that prevented players from completing the Bachelor of Baubles achievement. (among others)
in the august 20th patch, this bug was introduced and quickly hotfixed:
-Fixed an issue whereby some mini-pets could enter combat.
in the august 6th patch, this bug was introduced and quickly hotfixed:
-Runes of Perplexity now correctly apply confusion to the enemy target instead of the player.
They look awesome, good job anet, and bad job anet for making it RNG based….
At least it isn’t cash-shop RNG.
Besides, I’d say this is similar in GW in the way of having a specific skin tied to a boss.
yeah, i definitely have no problem with RNG if it’s not cash-shop and not temporary.
good job arenanet, i’m starting to get the feeling you’re listening to your community.
people seem to be missing the fact that guild wars 2 never promised to remove the holy trinity of tanking healing and dps.
the idea was to give a new trinity, one of control/damage/support. the idea was that everyone could do a part of this in varying degrees. for examples,
control: a ranger could cripple an enemy and kite it. a thief could stun an enemy.
damage: well, pretty much what it is now
support: a warrior could shout buffs to the entire party. a guardian could provide defensive buffs.
in one of the forum posts, a dev said they were looking to address the support part in the october 17 patch.
they can’t fix orr because of the living story in there.
one solution would be to phase like world of warcraft does (am i allowed to mention that game?), which would splinter the community across 2 phases. which Anet also doesn’t want.
so yeah, i’d love to see orr getting cleansed (that’s trahearne’s wyld hunt), but i’m not seeing it happening. maybe an expansion that alters the living story, giving us a reason to replay it?
i really like the fact that they’re using their living story to actually update things from the core game. i was getting tired of getting these short rushed content patches that were full of bugs and were temporary.
seeing them fix tequatl, possible TA as the release seems to imply, the recent forum post of them looking into fixing their trinity of control, dps and support…
i’m getting hopeful. cautiously hopeful.
this bug is still occurring. putting VOED on autofire did not help.
i can’t continue with my personal story because of this bug.
edit: i finished the story step by dropping the VOED at the very edge of the water, diving under water and grabbing it from there.

one of the minor gripes i have with guild wars 2 are the influence of night and rain on the game.
let’s start with something quite a few people already mentioned: night is simply too bright. i see almost no difference in lighting between day and night (using the highest lighting and shadow options available).
while i understand this is so visibility is not impaired, i feel it takes away from the atmosphere.
proposed solutions:
-make night darker
or
-tinge the light a dark blueish colour.
my second suggestion is about rain. right now, you see raindrops falling and that’s it. no splashes on the ground/in water.
my proposed solutions
-more raindrops in general.
-add splashes on the ground when raining. it doesn’t even have to match the raindrops, but it would make the game feel more immersive.
-overcast weather. when it rains, the sky is usually very cloudy.
-less bright spots during rain. when the sky is overcast, don’t expect sharp shadows.
-maybe add some watershader to spots on the ground to simulate pooling water.
let me know what you think!
what.
why does my juvenile marsh drake look nothing like the picture (which was the drake i actually wanted)?
i think something is wrong here, either the model used or the portrait.
