if you not afraid of reparis i found very useful the firs talent of Deadly arts: Back Fighting.
Double the damage while downed.
This helped me a lot during leveling as a thief
Also, i think that leveling with a condition build is the best option for a thief without spending lot of money in low-levels equip

All i want is to know wich is, in your opinion, the best way to equip my thief at level 80, to be competitive in WvW and helping my team much more than i do now.
Should i buy the WvW set? should i buy the berserk or what else?

I know that the set depends on my playstyle, but i don’t know wich playstyle is better for a thief in WvW.
I suppose that pure DmG won’t help much my team, maybe is better a condition or self healing build? or not?

OK well, this really is a question with no single answer. What play style will be better in WvW? Well, I’ve seen backstab thieves, shortbow thieves, I’m a P/D condition thief; they can all be helpful, it’s what you do with the thief that counts.

Are you going to stay with the zerg? Are you wanting to just travel with friends and hit smaller objectives? What are your aims in WvW?

If you’re soloing thief in WvW you can cap sentrys (as with any job) and also go solo supply camps.

I think we need a bit more information from you really.

as i say in my first post: “i know that there are not a “best” answer to my question, but all your opinion are important to me, cause i can learn much from people that know better than me the thief class on WvW.”

However, in WvW i stay with my guild. but not with the random zerg.
we’re from 10 to 20 people and we did all the things that are need to be done in WvW.
Defending Towers, camps and keeps, attacking towers camps and keeps.

Actually i’m asking wich is the best way to equip my thief to be competitive in WvW with the less cost of time-money and karma for the reason that i explain.

Hi guys.
I’ll post a little background here.

Back to old days, i use to play games like this or Quake, CS ecc.. for hours and i use to own the game and the opponents with deep knowledge of the game mechanics.

Now days, i’m a family man, i work a lot and i can play for only few hours in the evening and only 3 or 4 days a week. but is still enjoy playing games.
I just reach lvl 80 on my thief, and i’m quite happy about the class. I really enjoy it

I’m not so good. That’s because with a limited playtime i cannot study the game mechanics, the skills and all the thing that makes a player, a good player.

I play basically WvW with my guild in the night when i can, but i feel like i’m useless.
i do my best, but i don’t know if i’m playing my class with the best spec combination or combos.

Now that i’m level 80, i ask for your help. I hope that all the thief and also all the guys that can play more or better than me, can help me to not losing my time trying builds and loosing all my money and karma buying items that are useless. That mean loosing lot of my playtime…that is gold to me

Hi guys,
i’m level 52 Thief, so i don’t want to talk about nerfs/buffs/balance ecc…
I don’t know my profession well as most of you know.

I see that Thief is in hotspot about nerfs and that’s because they do mass damage in short period of time combined with good mobility. But this isn’t supposed to be how thief should be?

My question is: What do you expect thief should be? Why you choose this class?
If i choose guardain, it’s because i expect to have a lot of survivability, helping other teammates with supporting skills and heal. I’m no expecting to have a mass damage.
If i choose a Ranger is because i want mass damage from distance and so on…

I choose thief ‘cause i like glass cannon, goes around with stealth backstabbing people with the aid of venoms. But when i’m exposed i’m vulnerable and easy killable.
Lot of concerns about thief is that they do too much damage, but if you nerf the damage on a thief, what we get?

Thief is not about stealth in GW2. I’m so sad about that, because i like stealth classes like Assassin in SWTOR or Rogue in WoW or a Thief-build in Skyrim.
In GW2 we can’t run around in stealth, i think this is because of WvW balance so it’s ok.

So, if you have to spend more time uncovered and unstealthed how you imagine your gameplay?

I’m a little worried about that, ‘cause i’m afraid the rage nerfbat can change the meaning of being a thief and not about the damage but about the background of this class.
