I think this is an issue with the teleportation. It tries to place you around the target, but it also places you within 600 range of the target, which means you’re not necessarily in range to do what you need to do. Sometimes it’s a clone that gets put that far away, but they instantly move towards the target to do the leap attack, while you as a player sometimes don’t end up leaping (thus missing the 5 Confusion burst).

Additionally, I had one instance where I ended up facing the wrong direction and it completely shut down my auto rotation while I had to figure out where to face. It didn’t take me a long time, but it wasn’t fluid by any means. The problems with the Axe3 skill and IAmbush are the same as they are functionally the same effect just with different riders.

The problem with axe 3 isn’t as bad as it is with IAmbush due to the last one giving you the ambush window yet it doesn’t last nearly long enough to then run close enough to the enemy to hit them. Hopefully they increase the ambush time window to fix some of the other stuff. But then you’ll still on occasion be teleported quite a bit away from your enemy which isn’t as bad with weapons besides the axe but due to the axe not really having a gap close it becomes annoying with that weapon.

I’m just getting annoyed by how unfinished and clunky the elite spec feels. I really hope they can solve it in the release as they have already been working on fixes and tweaks.

I had a decent time killing stuff in the new map while being mirage. It was hard to tell how much damage I was doing though, it surely felt like less damage than a berserker power spec.

I’m more worried about the mechanics that come with it. The ambush windows were too short and I hardly ever was allowed to use it in the ambush window due to not being in the right position to actually use them.

Mirage mirrors felt absolutely useless and pretty much just get ignored because you don’t have the time to run around and it will result into a dps loss. You likely get more dps by just autoattacking instead of having to run to the mirrors to pop them.. to then not be in range of the enemy anymore to actually hit him.

The teleporting from axe 3 and Illusionary Ambush felt horrible. Especially Illusionary Ambush, this skill did activate the ambush buuuut… it would constantly teleport me too far away from an enemy so the ambush from the axe wouldn’t be able to hit. Axe 3 often also teleported me too far away which resulted into me having to run to the enemy to hit him afterwards.

So many traits just feel useless from the mirage, and due to being clones based, no shattering, the illusions trait line even felt useless. Illusionist’s Celerity didn’t even seem to work on Axe 2 ammo recharge. So I ended up with chaos/dueling/mirage as a setup, which just feels odd and you have to take so many traits that don’t do anything for you with whatever spec you go for.

In the end I’m hoping they will still spent quite some time on the mirage with tweaking and changing mechanics because kitten it really needs that.

yes cause raids are the end all be all of dps. /sarcasmoff…

To who is this reply? I personally never stated that raid is the end all be all of dps, I’m saying that compared to the options we already have the viability of the new elite spec is way lower than the options we already have. Even in open world, fractals, etc.
The only place where it might be viable as is seems to be pvp.

Looks like its a PvP spec and maybe open world PvE if you like the flavor but the numbers are so weak from a DPS standpoint. I have a feeling this was intentional since mesmers are already so wanted in raids.

The dps really is awful, old specs (pistol phantasms and sword OH phantasms) do way more damage from what it seems. Phantasms are skills that you don’t want to use at all as a mirage, so we have 1 skill on every weapon combination that you don’t want to use.
Shattering still seems like a dps loss over just not using it.

Due to chronomancers already being wanted in raids doesn’t make it okay at all to have an insanely weak damage based elite spec which so far only seems good in pvp.

I’m really saddened by the elite spec and it makes me really consider not getting the expansion pack as getting an elite spec that is awful and not worth using as I don’t pvp makes the value drop way way down. I’ll wait till we see some actual benchmarks though but it doesn’t look good at all.

Freaking anet can you do balance right for once?!

I would rather say:

Is there any reason that you chose Sword/Shield over Sword/Axe? I’ve always assumed that axe was better. (Also it doesn’t cover up my wings, but that isn’t too important.)

Sword/Shield gives better sustain, which I feel works better in the new maps and if I want to get to the next enemy faster I’ll just use the Shiro teleport instead of the Axe.
The Axe also gives no defensive options (atleast, I can’t count the vacuum on Axe #5 defensive).

But then again I love the shield on the revenant and don’t consider it weak at all (the trait fix would be awesome though). It often allows me to stay up close to my targets more often than sword or axe would allow me to and thus I get more dps in.
Having more dps on your other skills isn’t always the best option if you loose more dps by having to move. It comes down to your preference though, but yeah I would highly advice investing quite some time into the Revenant shield as I love it.

,

Sadly this trait working as intended. One effect overwrites another one which is kinda funny as it doesnt work with Ventari at all. I bielieve the daze effect should be delayed by 3seconds once youre done casting elite. But then again that may be a bit confusing.. would be better to just delete it.

Shared Empowerment.

That is intended by desing. There are other ways to get max of this trait. I personally use sigil of str for that reason as it proc nicely with sword 2might/sec.

Could you provide me the link where this has been detailed? I don’t get why they would do it this way so I would love to read up on that if possible.

It’s just some small tweaks. I’ve found that it is perfectly possible without dying much (if ever) to play in the new maps on berserker gear as a revenant. When you’re completely new I would advice putting on some tankier gear (like knight, soldier, marauder, whatever you have access to and isn’t too expensive as you’ll swap back to berserker lateron) so you can learn how the new enemies work.

You can also swap out some traits for more sustain or condition removal if you feel the need for it (like Soothing Bastion).

The rune of rage is a cheaper option than rune of strength, but use rune of strength when you do have the option to do so. Stay away from Rune of the Scholar in the new maps as you likely won’t be above 90% hp in the fights most of the times.

I also found the Sigil of Strength together with Unreleting Assault (and possibly Facet of Nature active) an easy way to get 25 might stacks going while in combat and even last long enough to be able to switch to the shiro legend and use quickness till your energy has run out.

This build is what I’m currently running (although mostly in exotics) and it works really well. However this is my experience.

Shared Empowerment.

The trait in itself isn’t bugged, but its interaction with your facets is.
The trait has a 1sec cd and you can have multiple Facets active. However all the facets pulse at the same time no matter when you actually activate the facets. As such they all pulsate at the same second, which leads to Shared Empowerment only activating once every 3 seconds.

Now if your facets would be able to pulse at seperate times from eachother then the trait would likely work right (I haven’t tried this as it’s hard to try by applying boons between the 3sec interval and also keeping an eye on the might stacks) the trait could be too strong but then it could just get a 3sec cd so it doesn’t feel off. It might also be somewhat hard to activate the facets at the right times to get the max out of the trait that way.
