I would like some kind of confirmation that this isn’t a sign of problems to come.
What the heck happened with your post there, Shaileya? O.o
The forum likes to go utterly haywire like that sometimes. There isn’t a way to fix it as if you hit edit the post looks perfectly fine. I reported it on the forum bugs forum ages ago, but you know how that goes, lol.
My main is a Charr, and she hangs out with her Charr buddy who is my friend’s main as well. We’ve both been 80 for a while now, and never really go to the Citadel, so I rather doubt that has much effect on what people play.
However.. on the ‘prettyness’ side of things.. there is a lot of armor that just does not look very nice on our Charrs. A lot of the helms and some of the other armor types just do not end up looking very nice on them. The helms tend to look super ackward on them in some cases when they would have looked perfectly fine on anyone else.

I hope down the road that they’ll get better at designing Charr armor appearances so we have more variety without the lumpiness.

Those who enjoy the story side of the game are really missing out if they don’t try them.

They could certainly use some more hair and face options. If I had made a third one, I have a feeling I would have had to resort to using the same hair as one of my existing Charr. I wouldn’t have to resort to that for any of the other races, except maybe the Asura as they do not have a great deal of hair options either.
Are your criticisms mostly being leveled at the personal story and cinematic conversations, or also with the ambient scenes and events?
The audio is just like the writing, really. The background conversations and banter tends to be fairly consistant with it’s quality. I can’t say i’ve ever stopped and thought ‘man that was an unconvincing read of that town banter’.
The quality of the audio and writing for the stories, on the other hand, is all over the place. We know the story writing was handed off to different teams, which is likely what resulted in the quality difference. Sometimes it worked out really well.. sometimes not so much.
I am wondering if perhaps those seperate teams were involved in the recording process as well, or perhaps the recording environment is just done better for the banter? Because some of the story audio does sound very read-off-the-paper. Do they have any awareness of what sort of scene they are attempting to voice at all emotion wise? Sometimes it certainly doesn’t sound it.
So I went to log in and got a solitary cannot authenticate error. It worked fine after that.. but I don’t use the authenticator. Should I be worried about this? It only happened once thusfar, and let me log in afterward.
+1 still does not do anything we can visablly see, and I kind of doubt that will ever change at this point.
However.. it is back to having issues once more. It ‘forgets’ that it is being clicked now, so every single time I return to a thread I have +1ed people in, it is now re-clickable each time. This is no longer occasional like it was the last time I reported this way back. It is happening each time now.
Take heed! lady in Hoelbrak makes me hate even going to the city. I also loathe the Sylvari cook in Lion’s Arch with his Never leave a wrong line.
We were told ages ago that the audio team was going to look into cutting down the frequency of paticularlly obnoxious NPCs but i’ve not seen any evidence it happened in game.
I have to say though.. after being used to my female charr ele’s lines for swaps/arcana, hearing the male norn ele’s from a friends character just made me laugh. They certainly got the short end of the being an ele audio stick.
My guildies often recite my swap lines in a sing-song voice. ‘Might makes right!’ is a paticular favorite.
For Great Justice, however, is so irritating I cannot bring myself to use the skill anymore. Mostly because a guildmate spammed it all the time in groups and we got tired of our ‘For kitten justice!’ jokes (It’s not a swear, by the way. The forum is just overly babysittery and thinks someone might feel their intellegence was insulted by it).
(edited by Shaileya.7063)
However, ArenaNet’s failure to acknowledge, address and discuss hotly debated issues is insulting. “We’re very excited about the new content, and from the reactions we have seen, so are many of you”? Have you read the forums? Have you checked the map chat during the infamous reinforcement phases? “Having said that, we’re also aware that there were certain aspects of the event that could have worked better than they did”? Yes, that’s nice, but what issues are you taking into account?
It’s not even PR drivel, PR is casting a positive light on negative issues, but this is actively avoiding them, which is far worse.
I can only explain this article as a reaction to server demands without compairing it with the actual feedback. Sure, some people love the new dungeon. Other people have expressed that they feel forced to give up doing anything else but grinding that dungeon, which they may even passionately hate in some cases, because if they do not, they feel they will find it impossible to find a group without having the correct level access that others want them to have.
People have also stated they are only doing this dungeon because of the added treadmill gear. To those who ask if you hate dungeons, why do you care about the gear.. That is because the gear is absolutely not ‘Just for the dungeon’. It has been stated in many threads now that this gear has a significant stat boost that has nothing to do with the Agony condition. This means if a player who does nothing but WvW wishes to have the best stats on their gear, they must go grind dungeons, until they get around to giving us other means to get Ascended gear. Something we have no ETA on, I might add.
We were also told we would have such features as.. WvW not being ruined by free realm transfers. We were told cities would have minigames simular to keg toss. We were told we would be able to guest on others servers without transfering to them. Some of these features may be less important than others, but considering the waiting game on things that have already been talked about long prior to release? Assuming that Ascended gear for non dungeon grinders is just around the corner in light of all that is a bit much to ask of most people’s optimism.
Making something popular for all the wrong reasons does not automatically mean that people are enjoying content, something this article seems to fail to address at all.
As for the aspects not related to the dungeon, the extremely vague nature of refering to what did go wrong gives the whole thing a very evasive feel. Talking up the event like everyone loved it and not even addressing the fact that the majority of the event functioned so poorly people were actually not able to enjoy it, let alone have a grand time with it is just plain disappointing.
I didn’t see a single person talking about how great this event was while we all stood around unable to cast spells, being downed by attacks we could not even witness on the first day of the event. I would be pretty suspitious of anyone that did say they enjoyed that at all. How did I enjoy the event? Well.. let’s just say.. this attatched picture is my favorite screenshot from the event. The time where my character layed on the ground in downed mode animation for five minutes, while my spellbar reflected my non-downed state spells.
So please.. do not tell us we enjoyed the event you gave us when we clearly did not. It was broken. It was frustraiting. I was never more glad that my friends did not have the time to take advantage of those free trials. I would have been embaressed to show them the game at it’s absolute worst. To try to PR spin this around like it never happened is really distasteful.
A better business move would have been to at least be a little humble about the whole experience. Admiting the event didn’t really work out like was planned would have at least given us a sense of striving to do better, because we all sure hope this wasn’t ANet’s vision for this. But to read this, you’d think it all went to plan and we just loved every buggy second of it. Presented in this tone, it displays no intention to learn from the mistakes that were made, when the company is outright pretending that customers are happy with what transpired.

….exaggerating much? The Amazon rating is still pretty good despite the pathetic attempts to review-bomb it. You made it sound like the game suddenly had a 1.0 Metacritic or something, but it’s actually just 30-40 people review-bombing it on Amazon. That’s….really not that big a deal.
And frankly, basing your purchases on user reviews these days is a questionable decision, since most people are very bad at giving even remotely objective reviews of anything.
Well.. their other way of basing their purchase of this game was to try that free demo, which ran for the length of Lost Shores.. I’m pretty sure good ol’ buggy Lost Shores said more negative about the game than an Amazon review ever could. So.. why are we worried about Amazon reviews again? :P
The leveling system is terrible. I just have a sneaking feeling that in a few weeks or months, all the low lvl fractal runners will have a hard time finding a group.
Also, I have not touched any other PVE content since the patch because I want to keep up with the masses that are progressing their own fractal levels. I havent seen any other part of Tyria other than LA since the patch because of this level system.
I agree. We already see this kind of exclusionary nature with people struggling to get Story mode done so they can do Explore if they took their time getting into dungeons (Which I personally have, though I mostly avoid them now due to their flaws making them not feel worthwhile to even try).
The leveling system of Fractals seems to have taken no notice of this at all. It will force people to keep up, or not find a group anymore, which is hardly going to make the dungeon ‘fun’ in the long run.

Thanks plastic spider toting around a rotten egg, whoever you might be. It might not be the most photogenic screenshot, but it was certainly amusing to watch.
I got an upgrade (entirely non-halloween related), and I gave my guildie an upgrade (non-halloween, again). I was pretty happy with that.. though the 10 slot bag was pretty ehh.. I would have been happier with an (Account bound) recipe to make a bigger bag that looked like a halloween bag, personally.
Most people in my guild already have 10-12 slotters on all chars or up. Because of this, I don’t see the bag skin getting a lot of use since it will be replaced so early on, and I would have liked to get to use the bag’s skin.

My guildmate had this problem. Seems the mailbox sometimes decides it cannot recieve a gemstore message even when it isn’t full. Something about the count of the x of 10 being inaccurate. Even if your mail is half empty, clear it out and see if it helps.
Though I suspect they won’t be amending the fact the costumes only unlock a solitary version.. we already have free devil horns, and a free GW2 hat.
So there is already plenty of reason for a hat maker. We also cannot get back our standard basic town clothes.. would be nice to have that at an npc.

While I do like the ghost quite a bit, the green spider is the one I prefer. Watching it twitch and hop around just makes me laugh for whatever reason. It is now being toted around on my main, who previously only carried around the chromatic ooze, my favorite mini.
I’m sure Mad Queen Malafide already knows from the other thread, but I agree completely with their sentiments here. I think a mini made out of candy canes in some way would be nice, too. Mostly because my guildies keep accidently saying ‘candy cane golem’ instead of ‘candy corn golem’, lol.

I was a mini collector in GW1 but it only took me the first taste of beta of 2 to know I wouldn’t be a mini collector in GW2.
Anet has a history of making minis that no one is honestly ever going to walk around displaying. Many random human npc models that don’t really make much sense from a storyside perspective, that don’t even look nice in many cases. Why on earth would I want to run around with a mini Logan following me?
In 1 the fact that we had a lot of minis that were more filler and less vanity didn’t matter all that much, since we didn’t pay cash for them, and we could chuck all the boring ones in the Hall of Monuments and forget about them.
In 2, unfortunately, pretty much every vanity item is regulated to the gemstore without Anet actually getting any better at figuring out what people want out of minis in general.
They seem to have a mini picking process of throwing a list of existing mob and npc models into a hat, pulling random ones out, and shrinking them. So instead of getting an awesome Branded Scorpian Mini, we get a tiny Big Nosed Ted because Anet just seems to make minis willy nilly instead of stopping and thinking ‘Hmm.. would I ever actually want to show off a Big Nosed Ted? Or.. would I want something that looks interesting following me around?’
I never experienced actually running out of mini-equivs I liked the look of to collect in other games, but I found very little of the minis in 2 to be appealing. That said, the Halloween pets are fairly nice, so I actually had a reason to buy a mini again. Good job, Anet. You didn’t give us a single boring npc turned into a mini for the holiday. Now if you can just figure out to do that in the future more often..
Unfortunately.. putting a pet in the forge in such a way is again, highly iffy. It has an extra income potential right now, for the gotta collect them all folks. That can work in the opposite direction, however. When a serious collector feels they cannot justify a purchase and thus end up with an incomplete collection, sometimes they stop buying anymore of the collection in general, because they feel bummed out by the incompleteness.

I’d rather Trading Post forage for what I want than RNG the standard pets, and throwing chainsaws at the skelleton pet sure doesn’t make it worth another 500 gems on it’s own to me.

Charrs can smile too! ;D
My sylvari honestly looks depressed while riding the broom. She doesn’t really do the smile. The human is pretty hilarious.. but i’m quite happy with the charr. =P
When did I decide it’s not worth playing? I’ll still play the game, but I’m definitely not supporting them with my hard earned cash anymore.
I imagine they inferred that your intention to get a refund means you are done with the game. When done via credit card, they close your GW2 account, as has been stated in a number of threads on the Account subforum. I rather doubt you’ll get any sort of refund that will not lock it.
I feel ripped off. The Happy Thread is completely devoid of psychotic grinning. Here, let me fix that for you.
In Queensdale, halfway between Vale and Crossing waypoints, there is a bandit cave near the bandit skill challenge. Inside the cave, there is an event to kill the champion bandit (you can see the event text in the second screenshot). The door that appears in the water there below the champion is the one that spawned on me and shoved me under the world (see minimap from second screenshot if more clarification is needed. That hexegon building is Dalin’s pumping station on it).
I was standing in the water, semi afk after the door despawned from earlier. I happened to be standing exactly where it popped up from when I went to get my loot apparently, and the result was I ended up under it the next time it came back, and was swimming, though the water in the area is not deep enough to actually swim in.
From that point on I was unable to find any holes to crawl back up through. Happily I wasn’t killed by falling into nothingness thanks to that handy ocean. I tried relogging at one point.. and the ocean went away and I was just standing on some cobblestone under Divinity’s Reach’s front facade (where I swam to while exploring the underworld, lol). Without my handy ocean to swim in I quickly became stuck where I was, and had to waypoint to get out of the situation (should this happen to anyone else, logout isn’t going to fix it. Waypoint is the way to go).

By the way, Jerkstore, taking any damage will automatically boot you back to your armor. You don’t have to toggle, it will self toggle for you if you get in a fight. Though.. this post really is a reminder of how badly the game needs maor tutorial tidbits.
Barring the multi-guilds suggestion, I like most everything else. Some of these are threadbare basics that were in GW1 and I cannot begin to comprehend their lack of being in 2 quite frankly.
I would also like to see some fostering of recognition, in guilds, though. We have a robust achievement system that is pretty much shoved in the basement. No one knows when you gain an achievement. No one in your guild knows you hit 80 until you tell them yourself, etc. A little effort to encourage friendly banter would be nice. Not hiding the achievement system under the floormat with the dustbunnies would make a bit more sense, as well. What good are achievements if you can’t boast about them and congratulate others on theirs?
People with the ‘entitlement’ reaction seem to have a seeing the forest for the trees problem. They only see the unhappy customer and race to spout ‘Hey you got something for free and some chest filler items, and I was happy with that, so if you are not, you are acting entitled, so I will dismiss that there is a problem in the first place’.
They don’t follow the scope of things to understand that from a business model perspective, the result of such a situation is not as simple as ‘Person A is happy with what we did, Person B isn’t. Oh well, we made 1 out of those 2 people happy’.
It’s a bit more like.. how much profit potential do we have from more happy customers, versus our profits from a divided, feud filled community that is spending a fair bit of time during what was supposed to be a fun holiday event arguing back and forth on the forums. The insult hurling cannot be adding much to the event for either side, quite frankly. So, does placing RNG gambling in the cash shop work out for them in the long run? That is the real subject at hand.
Posts like yours, Szthesquid, don’t answer that question much because.. you stated you were happy with just the freebies. You made no mention of if you did buy premium holiday content, nor if you plan to in the future. Posts where people talk about how the outcome of this event effect their spending plans in the future in regards to the game are a bit of a forecasting tool.
Anet can either gamble on the odds that disappointment will have faded by december, and retry their RNG setup as is, knowing that it’s highly controversial now, or they can use it as a meter to how much tweaking they would have to do to lower the number of dismay for future concepts.
The choice is obviously theirs, but calmly stated posts like Senophs do give a fair bit more insight into things for them, than several hundred posts where a person shows up, calls others ‘entitled’ for not being happy with just the freebies, and express nothing on what their intentions towards the cash shop in general are in the process.
If you are happy with the arrangement.. do you plan to buy RNG cash items in the future? Would you be more willing to spend on an assured item, or the feeling of added rarity that comes from a low drop rate premium item?
Personally, i’m not angry, and it hasn’t ruined the holiday for me. Will I spend on RNG cash shop items in the future? Likely not. As a GW1 player, I do feel a sense of disappointment, as this was not the sort of sales tactics that Anet used in the past, and I do feel that past history with the company did cause some people to have a sense of expectation that Anet would not place such a low chance on a premium item for a holiday.

My guildies had the bug that effected you Yareon (As per usual, the eternally broken forums won’t let me quote you). They used my cauldron to get into the combat, costume brawled for a bit.. then got stuck for quite a while being ‘in brawl mode’ when we were going to go start the quests but had no costumes. It was funny at first, but quickly got annoying for them.
I was glad to get bank space back by clearing out a bunch of those boosters. Annoying that the killstreak ones do not work though. I consider them to be one of the most worthless ones out of the bunch. They should just be removed as a standard Xp booster is far less irritating to attempt to time the usage of to begin with.. but why nix those from this recipe?
The contents were quite.. odd.. however. A ton of onyx, charged, glacial, etc, etc.
I had no real expectations of the skin drop rate being any better than pretty much nil — just like the normal chests going in, but I wasn’t really expecting the mats that were in them, either.
So, I went to send three of my guildmates some food for xp boosts. I’m the first person in the guild to max my cooking, and I routinely send out food to my guildies when I have extra mats.
The third message cannot be sent.. to my own guildmates, who are on my friends list mutually, I might add.
I get that this is meant to curb the gold seller spam.. but.. to be unable to mail 3 of your own guildmates that have you on their friends list? That’s just overkill.
Basic Trans Stone: 1-79 items.
Fine Trans Stone: Level 80 items.
So.. did ya know theres an entire ocean under Queensdale? Thanks to a door spawning ON me in a bandit cave and shoving me under the world in the process, I do. It is the door that spawns near the champion bandit.

I am honestly too tired to do much with the event tonight, but I do know there are new Discovery recipes in crafting. I have discovered two cooking recipes, and I can see part of a third one that I likely need to hop on my max chef for the non-collection tab ingredients for.
You can also buy the Karma recipes at the candycorn merchents.
Someone’s posted a guide they are in the process of making here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/halloween/Scavenger-hunt-guide-with-pictures-spoilers/first#post509606
I don’t know how spoilery you want your aid, but there are also some guides offsite like this one:

Good luck with your holiday journey. ^^
Donato: Those last for 4 hours. Then they go away.
Here is the Deathly Bulls shoulders on an Asura Clothie, for sizing concept. She’s a lowbie, so preview only on this one. Shoulder items are still relatively cheap with the state of gems to gold ratio right now, though the weapons are rapidly climbing.
Aewyn: Today it is Akujin’s problem. Because Akujin is out a lot of money and is now a dissatisfied customer. No one made them buy the chests, sure.. however..
For every special event in the future? This is now Anet’s problem, because the extremely low ratio has taught their customers a few lessons on trust. They will be the ones seeing the reflection of that in the future, not the customers.
Customers will now be far less willing to give Anet the benefit of the doubt with the gemstore, which will effect their profits. This isn’t just about giving flak.
It’s simply not a good business decision to make your customers feel like they need to be weary and distrustful of you. Thusfar, that is the outcome from this Halloween event for some people. They need to hear it, because going forward, they will either learn from this, or see a profit drop when willingness to buy keys, and other limited edition items, sharply drops.
(edited by Shaileya.7063)
Yeah, I turned into a witch frog when I drank from it.
Here’s a picture of the familur and the broom riding in case anyone is interested.
The various abilities do costume brawl things, though the cauldron is useable by everyone once placed. Melting is also like shielding. It casts protection from costume brawl attacks on you.
@Shaileya those are the Deathly Avian Shoulderpads correct?
Yep. I just went ahead and got the medium ones from the TP after realizing they are tradeable and way cheaper to buy from other disappointed users, lol. Considering they appear identical.. Why seperate the skins into armor types, Anet? Just adding even more lottery into it for no good reason.
[The feathers are color-changeable. I didn’t notice before taking the screenshots.]
(edited by Shaileya.7063)
Heavy shoulders.. would have been great if they had been for medium or light armor. Completely unbefitting for my warrior, so preview mode pic only.
Anyone know if these things are actually tradeable? It doesn’t say soul or accountbound.
The other day I was in a dungeon with someone who ran out of money to repair. I suppose by your ideals we should have no means of helping him out and should just abandon the unfinished dungeon and get no tokens, because clearly there are no legitimate reasons to be able to send others money.

So how ‘efficient’ is it to have Churning Earth still stating it is a ‘hold and release’ ability? :P I’ve heard that may have been accurate in the press only beta.
Yes, it is supposed to be interactable. Not that i’ve had much of a good track record with the buggy thing.
The first time I played it.. the door opened.. to a treasure chest I could not loot.
The door re-closed after a while. A random person played it. The door opened. My guildie who was partied with me wandered up to the chest after the person left, having never played the organ period. She looted it successfully. I, again, could not loot. So I made an in game report, and gave up on it.
That was about a week or two after the game came out.
A week ago I went back to try again, hoping the bugs had been ironed out by now. The organ could no longer be played. I made yet another bug report. I’ve already reported it in game, but, Maguuma, for the record.
Just figured i’d come give this thread a nudge after rolling my eyes at one of the moderators posting a spiel about using the Report Post function if someone is harassing you on the forums.
Very cute. Because we all know that button is accessable ever so often, just like edit, quote, and the +1 that still doesn’t do anything.
Bored guardians have moved many, many NPCs in Lion’s Arch around on Maguuma. Miyani is now missing, the bankers are standing on staircases, repair guy swimming, the guards by the city portals are all moved about, etc.
I dredged this post up to show just how old this bug is and still in the game.
I cannot type frankly, followed by though. It turns into frankittenhough.
Come back when you’re 80 and tell us what you feel then if you really want to go about this thread seriously. I actually felt I did quite nice damage at low levels.
Ele starts pretty strong compaired to other classes. It’s when those other classes get up to unlocking more and more of their traits that the Ele starts to really fall behind, damage wise.
Should you take up that challenge, please do try out some different styles of builds at 80. Try the one where you try to be high defense, then discover you cannot really kill anything. Try out the high support builds while soloing (You wouldn’t pay to respec every time you wanted to step out by yourself, would you?). Please do this while keeping in mind the part where ANet told us every class would be able to fill every role. Play your own way! Goodbye Holy Trinity! Etc. Once you have an actual grasp on the situation, then you’ll be able to apprechiate the currant viewpoint.
Quite frankittenhough, I could level my Necro to level 25 and not have the slightest grasp of what the level 80 ones are complaining about.
Ouch, reduced whirlpool damage? Really?
Ok, guess I’ll go back to hiding behind everyone else in any water fights and doing basically nothing. I want to believe they don’t just hate elementalists, but it’s getting harder and harder.
I’ve honestly given up trying not to believe that. The only other class on the bugginess plain that Ele lives on is Necro, and they just got a huge round of bug fixes.
What do we get? A fix to our buggy only underwater elite, which we didn’t even have in PVE period until recently, when our underwater damage is already horrible? Nope. A nerf.
You don’t need to be able to see your character, or not have your RTL make you a sitting duck while that Veteran whales on you when it fails to launch. Nope, you need to do even less damage, that’s what you need.
Starting to think ANet has backpeddled away from the idea of each class being able to do everything.. seems Ele is going to be delegated to supporting other damage dealing classes only at the going rate.
Re ‘Fire 3’ (Burning Speed): It doesn’t even always go in the direction your camera is pointing. Case in point: Yesterday I was facing a mob, I start to run up to it, I hit Burning Speed to pull it, and went directly backwards for absolutely no reason at all. This skill is so completely and utterly broken, it is likely multiple bugs in one. This isn’t even uncommon. I go in absolutely random directions all the time.

I like some of these suggestions, but disagree on others.
Disagree/Needs more input:
I have absolutely no interest in seeing mounts implimented this way. First off, it does not fit the game. We don’t feed our Ranger pets, why would we be feeding a mount?
You are also attempting to make the mount have an artificial cost to maintain to negate the lessening of Waypoint use.. but stating that unsummoning the mount means the cost goes away? What was the purpose of making the cost, if it is avoidable? Even if I liked the idea of getting mounts in the game, this method of going about the cost difference wouldn’t make any sense. If you want to have a cost to use on the mount, then make it get hungry at set times with a level-scaling fee. Otherwise, it’s just something to sidestep around and avoid.
My mount is hungry? Well lets just unsummon it right here next to this Dynamic Event/gathering node. Then when I want to leave.. i’ll resummon it. Who needs to pay for feeding? That cost is never going to be seen.
As an aside.. having to return to where you dismissed your mount has the potential to cause your mount to be stuck somewhere for a very long time. I can certainly think of some scenerios where people would dismiss their mount in a bad spot, then die endlessly trying to get it back to ride off. Which.. wouldn’t be so fun with your Waypoint suggestion. Which brings me to..
The Waypoint change.. what would the point to this even be? People already whine they cannot get across a map fast enough (thus people wanting mounts), and try ever doing this in Orr where the Waypoints are constantly Contested and non-useable. How would you ever Waypoint to the average of 1-2 Waypoints in the entire zone that are not contested at any given time?
Reforging: Not enough explanation as to how this would benefit max level characters.
That said.. I do like most of the other suggestions. When I read about the Ritualist suggestions, I saw Possession, and immediately expected it to be an ability to send one of your spirits to possess a mob to make it temporarily fight for you, however. While that would be rather fun I suspect, maybe call the ability something else since it doesn’t do that..
I do think there is room in the game for both Ritualist and Dervish in their prospective territories, as well as the return of some of the weapon types. I also think the Paragon Weaponry could still fit into the game as well. I do feel the weapons need to be used by a few more classes than suggested for proper rounding out in the loot tables, however.
click to move/interact
ping spamming “im attacking X” in the party chat
drawing crap on the minimap
8 man parties
12 man parties (elite missions)
party search window
being able to chose skills
team camaraderie.. becoming an extremely scarce thing nowadays..
You do realize you can still draw on the mini map for the party? You can draw on both maps, mini and full as long as they are looking at it (full map, and the section of the map you are drawing on). Just hold down shift, then draw on it.
I miss having a Guild Hall.
Hunting weekly stuff down for Nic.
The booze, sweets and party items (I know.. theres booze in the game.. but it’s buy only.. and that I know of has no drunkness effect. Can’t be bothered to waste a ton of money on it to be sure).
The store costumes (The currant ones are kind of meh..).
The holiday wearables (I know we might get them.. but I suspect Gemstore only).
Perminant Tonics being slightly more accessable (I only know of one from the forge that is (no longer obtainable?) in 2).
Siege Devourers! (Would have been hilariously fun in WvW).
Rare pets for Rangers (I so want a Branded Devourer).
Ritualist and Dervish.

This completely ignores the fact that the DR is hitting those who are not farming, who are nowhere near a legendary, and who are playing the game as intended. I am one of the many who has been hit by the DR while playing the game precisely how it is intended.
I’m not farming anything at all short of cooking ingredients, but I too have hit DR as well. It is highly demodivating when you’re pretty much not even able to play the way that ANet wants you to, let alone the way you want to, without hitting it.
I’ve hit DRs by trying to map complete a zone, or just wandering around trying to gather some cooking mats in Orr which ends up resulting in me getting almost no loot from mobs I wasn’t even trying to farm because they nonstop respawn and are in my way.
