Guild Wars 2

The plan was set in motion yesterday, and yet we have amassed 428 (at the time of writing) guild members in the Yolobus guild. I’ve seen as many as 250 online at the same time, and we have had blobs on all borderlands and ebg, some more than others.
The guild will go down in less than 1½ hour most likely, and everything will return to what it was.

I personally love that the Gandaren Community could come together and participate in this event, and love that it is actually possible to see the number of players now, as opposed to culling =)

My sympathies to the people that didn’t get the april fools joke, and my regards to the people that had fun today.

It’s been a pleasure fighting you guys, and good luck with your future battles.

A lot are saying its a bad thing with the new paid server transfer, but it really isn’t. It will effect servers yeah, but even before this, guilds were moving around making a mess of things (though not as much, but they could do it every week if they pleased), and after 1 month of paid transfers, everything will have settled down and every server will have found their rank.
I’m sorry for the servers that will take the fall, but it just comes to show what community there is, and I know there are a lot of good people on those servers struggling still.
Paid server transfer was thought about from the very beginning though, and the only reason it wasn’t included yet, is because guesting wasn’t ready yet.

Really happy with this matchup, the last 4 weeks for us have been stressful as kittens, but in that time Gandara has really started to make progress on organization, even of the randoms roaming around.

Though I hope to see some more organized actions from you both. Like stated above, your zergs don’t have the impact they could have, but kudos to your defense siegeing and forces tenacity to keep fighting, we can learn from that =)

BUT

we’ve got a lot of gandarens adding fuel to the fire, more than Piken, though you Wamgor, you are adding so much with every post, though you might not mean to.
Currently the biggest winner in this forum is Augury Rock, since they haven’t really posted anything (might be because they are french, dunno).

This will also be my last post in this matchup in here =) and hope every last fuelbomb here would do the same and keep the flaming to their respective forums. And keep the “was a good fight at bay”, “wow that guild was good”, “who was that asuran thief that killed all our dolyaks?” posts for this forum where people can chat and have fun.

For the other people that want (hopefully), another week of good fights, I say the same! Even though the points may be a bit on our side, we’ll continue to expect your forces to give us some good challenges over the coming week, as they have done previously ^^

You must admit Piken went all out at reset though. If you can keep that up 24/7 it wont be many months till your Tier 1 =P
But I also think (just my thoughts) that you wont be as brutal the whole week through, as you’ve made your point. Also (just my thought again) I think you will get some good fights if AR and Gandara begins targeting Piken more than each other after this start.
I know I personally will spend a lot of time killing only Piken dolyaks, which I’m fairly competent at even when they have 4 Pikens (or other) trying to protect it again and again, muhahaha =P

It has been a fun 3 weeks regardless of the how the forum post has been, unfortunately is has come to an end by the looks of it. We might meet again and we might not, so lets get some good fights in the last week.

It is just hurting my eyes seeing the crap that has been posted here during our match up.

Totally agree, has been a fun (or was it really) 3 weeks, a lot of drama, bickering, server pride, exploits, ect. I just want it to end =(
But at least we’ve learned a lot, and had a lot of fun fights, so it wasn’t bad at all =)

But I hope we and AR can retake some of the maps, so we can have some good fights all 3. Not really much fighting when every random stands outside our taken keep simply to fight and die by siN =P

Edit: But at least I get to practice some more soloing of unupgraded supply camps, since there are plenty of them currently =)

Transfers most def needs to be changed for WvW to at least 30 days, as the 7 day window does nothing what so ever and might as well be zero days with the way WvW match ups are based on a 7 day cycle

Nah, its not like anyone is just jumping server to the winning side (though Piken is winning currently), its just they returned and had a week of fun fighting GvG with RG on Gandara. Sure from a competitive standpoint it should definitely change, but I know I’m here just for the fun (though getting this badly crushed isn’t exactly fun).

If i got you correct its AR BL bay, we attacked 2 gates at inner, one with golem and other with rams, the golem one took too long (switched to cata due golly loss actually). So when our guys appeared inside i was bit surprised myself and then found that wide open gate to walk through

Took us by surprise too. we had our force targeting you guys that the front gate, no supply left, and then I went to check north gate, 15% health left and quickly declining, barely got the word through TS before your friends came and stormed the wall.

But yeah, things sure went down fast, and I know I was tired already at the 3rd week of this matchup.

But not that we wont fight back, but I wish you well in the higher tiers Piken.

Currently the only decent map has been AR borderlands. was nice and colorful for a long while. But while held up on AR borderlands, seemed like everything else just turned green. grab a screenshot when the map is entirely green and post it plz, going to bed. nn.

So, right now me and my guild mate’s fra [NNF] was defending Greenbriar in Gandara borderlands! Really good time’s with the red Gandara, when suddenly, out of nowhere, a little AR group fly into the tower some how, all from the guild [LDF] (Larmes do Feu), and cap the tower while we are busy defending the gate (shame on us for not looking at lord room), but still. So, this look like hack to me, and I can send some screenshots (Anet don’t want us to post SS about stuff like that here).
Anyway, any know this guild, or is from it, that would care to explain what you just did before we report the entire guild for hacking?
Edit: We got Video footage of the mesmer flying in as well, one my m8’s was frapping the defence

Actually, there was not any denying in that post at all looking through it. Mostly it seems like they just want to see the video of themselves capping.

Definitely been better fights recently. But feels like you AR are just resting a bit currently, or might just be me. But none the less, has been a good ending of the week, and gonna be fun seeing who gets 2nd and 3rd (I have a hunch).

It’s not over till its over =) been going back and forth a LOT. But AR is definitely the winner of this weeks battle.

I know my thief gets loads of initiative, but not infinite.
Mainly because I can stealth 3-4 times via skills, and stealthing gives 2 initiative with ‘infusion of shadow’ trait. My main way is 3 death blossom, stealth from stealing and 1 more death blossom, and then another stealth and blossom if I have another stealth from the ability I stole.

Add to that Shadow Refuge, which can give you back all your initiative with that trait, it really is nice and almost op in my opinion.

Since CnD (I don’t use it much) gives stealth, you get 2 initiative back from the cost of 5 from CnD, and with your time in stealth regaining initiative, it can become just about infinite yes.

soloing a tower is near impossible, but not entirely, and just requires taking it slow when getting inside to kill the guards and boss.
Getting inside is another matter however, but can be done with a treb or cata, since a ram would be hard to defend from guards and build/use at the same time.
But if you are already inside because they didn’t find you, then totally possible to do it.

But I’d say if you can solo supply camp, you can solo tower (if the enemy is sleeping), and I might try it some night when I feel the enemy is sleeping.

But generally the rule of thumb is 4 people for a tower, since you need 4×10 supply for a ram.

If our little zerg had been there instead of taking over all of Piken borderlands, as we had done yours before, it could have been a good fight as well.

I really wish this thread could be locked and forgotten as it is, it’s getting far to bad tempered in here, though there are some sane individuals only wishing each other good luck.
It’s human nature to defend what you do, and in extension defending your server, but this has continued for too long in my opinion.

Each server has dubious characters to say the least, its a crying shame that people feel the need to resort to cheating in any form.. They taste much sweeter when they die too.

It’s a kitten shame, 1 small group or even 1 person ruins the reputation for an entire server. Would really love if Anet made it exploit free, so we would know it was honest work from all.

Well, I find it hypocritical for us (Gandara) to get worked up over an alliance (see last week’s match-up) and then turn around and start making alliances ourselves, FOR ANY REASON.

Second, when the player private messages you to laugh and say i don’t care…it makes it into a bigger deal.

Therefore, I’m calling our server out on this. Will post screen shot of conversation if you further doubt.

I know that we have discussed (at least on gandara forum and also in some guilds) that we would never want to make alliances.
Also anyone would realize that if such a deal was true, Gandara would indeed be the biggest hypocrits, and Piken would just sink lower in opinion since they would make such an alliance again, with a server they had made alliance against previously.

My thought is either he was trolling you, he was an infiltrator from another server that recently joined the guild (which I hope not since that would be spying and far worse than an alliance in my opinion), or a misunderstanding (which I doubt since you have screenshot).

Can definitely feel that there is no alliance, and that this is just because you 2 are taking us more serious this week.
After your alliance last week I personally played a lot more than normal, and I think a lot of other gandarens did as well, and I am happy you 2 did not win.

This week however I don’t really mind losing, cause that only means we can go down a tier and have more fun. But will try having fun this week as well though.

Regarding the alledged exploit, there was none, I was not there but I trust those guilds completely to avoid using them, and especially Tortun.

Hope we will have a good fight this week, though we are already far behind. Expect some fierce zergs coming your way to take the entire map again. =)

Has actually been a good day today, and the most fun was attempting to kill some doylaks heading past Wildcreek in prime-time, 3 guards from Piken had no chance the first 2 times I killed it, the 3rd they came looking for me and almost missed my chance, and the 4th time they attacked me the millisecond I came out of stealth to attack the doylak.
They killed me, and I gave them the prize of not bothering their doylaks at Wildcreek any further (for today), but the 4th doylak died to internal bleeding after I died.
Only respect for people that protect their doylaks =)

Also had fun watching our 1 commander in EBG giving his all and training a good zerg of players some new tactics, which I hope will stick since as said, we are not that organized on Gandara, but we have learned a lot this week.

I like to get the facts, I do not think it directly unfair to use such tactics, I respect my commander(s), but I never wish to use such an alliance against another server. Being on the receiving end (Gandara), I can tell you it was/is very tiring.

We did also not take advantage of Christmas (at least I have heard nothing about it in the guild I belong [WvW]), but we do however have a more populated server, meaning more players in general, many of which are of course also missing because of Christmas.

But I do hope we will get a fight against one another in the new year, so we can have a good and fun fight, instead of this weeks fight which has been as said, tiring.

Yawn, I’m tired. Having tried to defend against AR and PS for hours on end. I’ll tell you we only really had 1 zerg in EBG for a long while, and it is by far not easy defending 2 sides with that. But this is still the most intense battle I’ve seen so far, and kinda sad finding out here that you guys made a little alliance. Was actually kinda relieved when we had a break and AR attacked PS.

This battle is seriously the most intriguing I’ve seen so far in WvW, going back and forth night and day. 1 day AR getting pushed to non-existence, the other day Gandara, but it feels like Gandara has gotten more of a night crew here in the holidays, taking over most of the map, and then in the day being pincered in EBG, but I take this as Gandara being the populated server in the night, while Piken and AR being more organized during the day.

We already fought Riverside and lost Wamgor, and it’s not like we are really that great. Having seen [XxX] guild in action, that came down from Blacktide to Gandara (haven’t seen them this week), there really are some hardcore WvW guilds up there that we have no match against. But I do not feel that we have been fighting or pushing for a victory.

But what we will get out of this, is to learn some new tactics from our opposition that we will be able to use later, which is a really good thing.

And the reason we can amass zergs still, is because we have a few very good commanders that are good at giving directions to our otherwise pug-WvW world. A few good commanders can make all the difference in the world (vs world).

I really did not expect us (Gandara) to be in the lead at all this week, with us moving up a bracket and fighting Piken who came down from above and who were leading up till some time ago, while we were 3rd. Now 11k score in front and rising, gonna be interesting if the tides will turn again. I expect a continuing good fight from both AR and PS, as it has been till now =)
