I wouldn’t call myself a full elitist, but I’d definitely say I’m well on my way, except for my guildmates (I run with them for fun, not for farm).
If I advertise something as a speed run, I expect my teammates to all be running at least borderline-meta gear for their class. As for what class they take, I really don’t care, as long as it does damage.
I also don’t join pugs on my ranger, which right now is my backup-main class. People don’t expect me to be good, and I don’t blame them, given how many very bad rangers there are out there, point blanking trash mobs out of aoes, or dancing around with their bearbow thinking that it’s a BAMFing pet or something.
As a ranger, unless you’re going with people who know your play style, all I can say is ‘do story and make your own pug’. I don’t have any trouble getting one going, even in speed runs.
That said, I have a real problem with pugs who don’t advertise as speed clears or what-have-you expecting their pugs to run meta builds. Personally, when I don’t specify ‘speed’ on my pug groups, you’re welcome to run whatever tickles your skritt.
TL;DR: if you get kicked a lot, make your own group. If you want a speed run, freaking advertise it as such. If you want a casual run, don’t join advertised speed runs.
I have sympathy for good rangers because bad ones give us such a bad name.
My guild leader is dragging me on a dungeon run now, so I’ll adjust/respond on the thread once i get a chance. I really like this topic, so I’ll be sure to pay another visit.
closed, thanks.
I’m not particularly wordy, so I’ll say it this way. I’d like a pretty casual guild. Mine has become a bit too hardcore for my tastes.
I do have a few requests, though.
- 100% rep requirement is a deal-breaker. I’m not interested in a guild who will watch me more than the police. I hang out in a friend’s guild from time to time, so I can’t rep more than probably 70% of the time.
- I’d like to do some guild missions. Not a deal-breaker if you don’t have them or don’t have them yet.
- Goofy personalities bordering on insanity are something I like, even if I’m not that way, myself.
- Copy-pastes will be ignored. Plus they don’t answer my questions.
- If I think of anything else, I’ll note it here as I think of it.
Thanks for the time and feel free to message me or whisper me or whatever you feel like doing. If you whisper me, you might have to get my attention first, since I do a lot of farming in my free time—might not see your message.

That’s understandable—you’re used to this kind of thing, I’m not. That’s water under the bridge, I s’pose. However, did the follow up make things a little more clear?
Long story short, enter the story mission, run towards the first cutscene, and you find an very large invisible mountain.
Surprisingly rude.
Anyway, as you could see in the top right of my screen, I had just started the story mission listed. Where you first enter the cutscene, there appears to be an invisible mountain.
But anyway, what you have posted here is frankly rude. You really didn’t need to add that last line. This is my first bug report, so I don’t feel the necessity to insult an innocent omission of information that I thought would have been accessible through viewing the screenshots.

I meant the second outfit—pictures 3 and 4. 1 and 2 are definitely cultural, yeah.
by the looks of 2 posts prior, viper, it seems?
My two main looks – first is WvW + multi-purpose PvE. Second is hardcore PvE.
Kay, I have to ask what your second one is wearing—I don’t think I’ve seen that armor before, but I really like it.
7/10. As you said, it’s simple, but it’s not bad.
Here’s mine. I don’t like flashy stuff. Finding something and trying to make it look ‘cute’ is fine by me.
Edit: put in a picture from the start screen.

The Renown heart ‘Help Doolsileep protect Moogooloo village’ is right next to the Tower of Nightmares, causing much of the area that has the enemies that count towards the task to turn toxic. One step too far one way, and I’m out of the renown heart range (though enemies can still be found), but one step too far another way, and I’m dead in seconds due to the toxic shroud around the ToN.
Possibly increasing the range for the Renown heart could help fix, or is there some other area where we are expected to complete the task? I have usually completed the task in the area around the Auld Red Wharf, but that area is toxic now.
