You guys are rude, it’s just a game you know, people play how they want, you can’t force them to play like how YOU want, i play what i want to play for fun, but you guys seems to be upset and elitists here so i’m not going to argue any longer with you because you’re stupid. It’s like those people wanting 5k AP Warriors when i saw 12k AP Warriors in my group yesterday that couldn’t run in arah p1 and ragequitted in the end because they were too bad skipping Drakes and Oozes, yet we failed because a mesmer aggro all of the champions instead of one small group.
oh my.
Why are they stupid? It sounds like you are the one who is upset. They are posting about how you are not contributing as much as a player who has skill/knows the encounter/builds to be optimized.
What does 12k AP warriors that couldn’t run Arah p1 have to do with ANYTHING? You can run most of the runs in arah naked with the correct weapon skills and utilities just by not getting hit. You brought this example up outta nowhere and it actually contradicts what you said. If they “do what they want”/“play how they want to play” then by your example they are selfish enough to just build for personal survivability.. doesn’t that mean they have way MORE of a chance to be able to survive the Arah P1 run than a skilled player running full berserkers + scholar, the glassiest armour + rune combo in the game?
Same thing for the mesmer.. you are just “stupid” because you shouldn’t call him out and let him “play as he wants” by making BIG mistakes that COST and kitten the team and pulling all the champions because it’s “more fun than having to spend sitting and learning the game you are already playing”.
EDIT: I just realized you said “you are just Like Those People” in Arah p1 that have 12k achievement points and ragequit after dying at runs, and pull champions"
man, so much unnecessary flame when in actuality, these are the kinds of people that learn the game and can run most of the runs in Arah naked by being out of combat for the whole run and if they can’t, then it is pretty close- they get hit by 1-2 attacks through the runs, or are working towards it.

@laharl: I usually start with axe 2/4 then GS 2(3 as well if on a wall) then GS 111 for the vuln and use eviscerate when possible. Obviously things change sometimes depending on the fight, like a/m 5 is good for knockdown.
@Grog: That clears things up for me. For some reason I always thought that when you see the GS numbers that was each swing, but makes more sense that it is a total cumulative damage. Duh!! (on my part)
EDIT: Thanks for all the input so far guys. I feel better knowing I am at least doing all I can short of getting into organized groups, other than maybe having the perfect DPS rotation and maybe some sigils in the wrong spots.
don’t use eviscerate on cd. only use it at the end of the boss. also when in melee range on your gs set, hit rush (gs5) after 100blades (gs2) as it does loads of damage, then ww through (gs3) and hit weapon swap to cancel the ww and then hit cyclone (axe2) for vuln as per norm. also, if your team isn’t counting defiant stacks and you can spam mace5 whenever you want, then do it when in melee range because it does double damage and is a dps boost. remember to not interrupt your axe chain as well, because the last hit does double damage.
=) +1 would recommend
Stalvros is also the leader of Fractals of the Mind (FotM), which is not a 100% rep guild (don’t be scared of early commitments!) but rather a hub where players are TIERED so that you can easily find people who have read and accepted the guild manifesto prior to joining and can whisper them to get a party going. This guild is the dungeon equivalent.
Hopefully this guild will be just as successful if not more =)
my female human warrior =))
you don’t have to drop an offhand slot.
for warrior:
i run my warrior with greatsword/axe+mace, and with the adept major trait signet mastery i have 30 seconds of swiftness from signet of rage on a on a 48 second cooldown.
for warrior + everyone else:
i always open up my inventory when out of combat to swap my mace with a warhorn to buff swiftness for 10 seconds on a 15 second cooldown (untraited warhorn) for me and my allies as well. put signet of rage and warhorn4 together and you have essentially perma swiftness. before a fight all it takes is a quick hero panel drag and drop to replace my mace with a warhorn.
if i’m in wvw i have warrior’s sprint 25% movespeed with warbanner as my elite.
I didn’t say progression is, based on levels but you haven’t found a way to give people a sense of progression if you take levels of away. What would you put into place that would give people a sense of progression that is not a gear grind. What would you use to keep people playing? Cause content is not enough to keep people playing as Anet found out when people got to lvl80 and stopped playing. There was a ton of content but not progressive content so they stated that there was no end game. So how would you fix this in a game without level progression or gear progression?
I told you already. Gear can still be tied to a level system.
unlock this model and gear stats at level x,y,z.
But dont lock Traits/Skills to level requirements and dont lock zones to levels.
So players can play and go wherever they want and create their own story and progression. They can play any event. The levels would be the reward for the fun, instead of how it currently is, which is fun is the reward for leveling through the gated content.
still has its progression. But not forced on people like it is now. its Optional grind, and comes with the fun of playing the way you enjoy.
some people enjoy defend events. well they can do that all day long and explore to find new defense events.
Some people like escort events, they can do that all day and find new events of that kind.
some people like champ zergs,
some people like hearts,
some people like jump puzzles,
etc.
they can play the way they enjoy, and still get their levels, but they wont be locked away from the stuff they enjoy simply because they dont fit a level requirment. can you imagine how this game would have been if they also locked SPvP and WvW like this around levels?
who actually likes defending events or escorting events besides maybe roleplayers (no offense to you guys)? enemies spawn on the side and you have to defeat them and this repeats for 5-6 minutes while waiting in one spot (defending) or having to facepalm every minute when the npc being escorted runs backwards to attack something way behind (escorting)? champ zergs are also for farming…
you are in the wrong genre. go play adventure/fighting games, because those are the kinds of games that you want gw2 to be. no offense to adventure/fighting games of course, but this is gw2…
