Showing Posts For Shivva.1904:
We’ve been in T1 for a few weeks now and I’ve never experienced such bad skil lag.
Also, and perhaps this is a side effect of whatever the performance issue is, we’re getting invisible zergs again too. (Definitely not just veils)
Got to say, seems to me that Ogro has entirely the right attitude to this situation.
No point in moaning about it, just have to fight harder.
Great fighting MOS tonight on Deso border, always a pleasure and a challange fighting u guys. Cheers
Yep.
Respect to MOS for bringing it.
Yep. Having taken Anet to task for showing no signs of listening only yesterday, I’m very pleased to be proven wrong in this case. Thanks guys.
Plenty of people on low-pop servers having severe queue issues since 28th patch.
See this thread:

One can live with culling and wait for the patch (although culling is also worse since 28th according to a majority of people who voted in the poll)
People who can only play for a few hours and those at peak times can’t live with queues that eat up most of their available time though.
So a fix is much more urgently needed.

I think the main issue, at least for me and a lot of people I know is the impression Anet are creating of not listening to WvW players concerns still less prioritising accordingly.
For a lot of people the queueing bug (or feature) has a substantial impact.
If you only have 3-4hrs in which to play, losing half of it to a queue (or all of it if you d/c or crash) is rapidly going to result in finding some other way to spend your time.
It’s pretty clear that this problem is affecting high and low population servers and it’s a severe enough issue that I would expect Anet to be prioritising it over everything else, even culling and certainly over adding more PvE, grind and meaningless vanity stuff.
This thread would have been a perfect opportunity to show WvW players that Anet were actually listening to their concerns and were prioritising sensibly to address them.
There certainly do seem to be a lot of people on low-population servers also reporting queue issues.
Yep. Like a quite a few other people I know, I’m an older player with a demanding job.
I don’t have time to grind, so I certainly don’t want to see PvE grind introduced to WvW.
When can I play, I have maybe a 3-4hr window between work, family and sleep.
GW2’s original promise of grind-free casual WvW fights was tailor-made for me and I’ve had a great time with it despite all the flaws, at least until the latest patch.
Right now though, about half of that 3-4hr window is spent trying to get in to WvW.
For me and for many players like me, the present state of the queues is therefore completely unacceptable. I was hoping for some indication that Anet recognise that queues are broken since the last patch and that they were treating a fix as urgent.
No such indication above though, just an update which has slipped again and which is full of stuff that sounds like it’s introducing more PvE and/or grind to make WvW less fun for people who are actually interested in WvW, in order to attract PvE’rs perhaps.
I do appreciate the effort to communicate here, but I’d appreciate much more some evidence that Anet are actually listening to and responding to the feedback from committed WvW players.
Please fix
1) Queues
2) Culling
… then think about all that other stuff.
This is completely unacceptable.
I’m giving it until Feb patch, and if it’s still 1-2 hr queues, I’m gone.
Respect to Nuke for bringing several fun fights tonight.

Magnificent fight for Arbor Garrison last night.
Great job by both sides.
Looking forward to more of the same during this match-up.
Welcome to Desolation Kaz Legacy
Looking forward to some great fights alongside you.
Some great fights over the last few days. Especially that multi-hour epic at Hills (phew!)
Thanks for to Arborstone and Elona Reach for bringing it and looking forward to more.
I think they’d have to stretch those rules quite a bit in order to block an honest attempt by the leader of a large, WvW-only guild to request some sort of attempt at engagement and consultation by Anet with WvW players about WvW gameplay changes.
That sort of thing isn’t an unreasonable request after all, it happens in other games and they’re stronger for it. The lack of such engagement in this game is clearly being perceived by players as a serious problem, certainly from the point of view of WvW.
I think there are two issues here.
1) Why are we fighting an NPC in WvW? I don’t know about anyone else, but I do WvW to fight other humans. If I want to fight NPCs there are many options outside WvW for doing just that, I don’t want to see Anet blurring the boundaries between PvE and WvW by introducing any NPCs who are a far more significant threat than the opposing players.
2) The above point raises the wider issue of consulting the affected players about fundamental changes to their game and working with the affected player base to test any such changes in a realistic way, i.e. with actual players on a public beta test server.
It’s extremely disturbing to see Offski’s honest attempt at communication with Anet being censored. That’s not indicative of any kind of respect for their paying customers.
From the perspective of a WvW engineer, the 30% nerf to grenades is just appallingly badly thought out. What exactly is the role of an engi supposed to be in WvW now?
Did Anet even think about WvW when making this nerf? The rationale presented makes almost no sense in PvE terms that I can see and none from the perspective of WvW, as many angry customers and/or soon to be ex-customers have pointed out.
Signed,
WvW players are often older gamers with jobs, and hence more likely to trade cash for time.
Making changes like this without the slightest thought of consultation is a sure way to lose customers who might otherwise be spending hard cash on gems to buy WvW gear and buffs.
Currently on Seafarers but willing to transfer. Playing Thursday through Sunday GMT.
Not interested in PvE or in sPvP, strictly WvW and spec’ed for it with full Exotic gear.
Looking for a guild with active commanders, voice comms discipline and fighting spirit.
I have to say, I’ve enjoyed WvW more since Millers showed up.
Challenging opponents, good fights, especially the small gang stuff, good for them.
Well, tougher opponents can be considered as a source of fun.
Yesterday the very disciplined Germans had all the maps locked down, and as a consequence, we were running around instead of beating on gates.
I have to say, as a former Eve player, the difference was like stopping boring POS warfare, where you shoot a space station for hours and hours while watching porn and drinking or moving to fast small gang stuff. Night and day and I know which I like better.
