I’m male and play female toons and just pretend I’m female when someone draws attention to gender or tries to flirt or whatever. I just let them know my toon is a lesbian that makes things easier to deal with from a personal perspective.

But really why not just flirt back or try to have fun with it? It’s just a game dude, you’re not a magical sword wielding gladiator in real life but you have no embarrassment pretending to be one online. Why should sexual orientation be any different?

it’s been a couple months since I played, and somehow my chat is now on the top left and my party is on the bottom left, they used to be the other way around, and I can’t figure out how to move them back.

i have 56 mystic coins, and i have no idea what to do with them, 77s is just too low to sell on the TP i’d barely make 40 gold, and apparently they have a lot of utility that i’m yet unaware of so i don’t understand the concern behind coin prices

I’m back from a long time break from the game and I went through my inventory and level 80 boosts that I have and organized everything, it looks like I last started working on ascendant gear and also had a mind for making my own 2h leg sword, i think the twilight one… anyway it’s been so long that I’m not sure where to pick it back up

What are the best, most updated and recent guides to follow for building up an end game character? I’m a warrior

I appear to have resolved my TDR crashes, I had to use an older driver for my video card and also underclock my RAM from 2133 to 1800.

They should bother because it would be a simple change, I doubt it would take very long to adjust a few numbers in the MF progression algorithm, and it provides more progression.

Also I get driver crashing in certain zones, never been able to resolve this, had it on 3 different nvidia cards, over many dozens of driver iterations,

Now I’m in the timberline falls zone at the northern part and I’m getting a lot of crashing, it’s doesn’t break the game though, the drivers crash, screen freezes for /half second, goes black half second, returns to game play, if I run back to the area I can trigger another crash, if I run away I can stay crash free (tested standing still for 1 hour) but then running around I can maybe encounter another area that crashes, other zones have done this but I can’t remember which specific one.

hmm ok, i’m looking into options to upgrade my cpu, 3770k is the only update i can get without having to also upgrade mobo, and it’s still a pretty pricy CPU, will the devs come back around to these issues? I’ve seen that years ago they committed to resolving cpu-thread usage and workload

Have you tried rolling back the driver? The latest version was messing up for me and rolling back solved a bunch of problems.

thanks btw, i will have to try this, i’m currently using the 362.00 drivers

(but really I update my drivers usually with every release, and i’ve had these type of problems with GW2 and my card for as long as i can remember)

The game is CPU intensive. If your video card isn’t running at a high enough load to trigger the boosting it just won’t and it is also a sign that it doesn’t need to. I’m running 780 GTX’s (SLI) and they never get above 60%.

Does that mean FPS drops I see are because of CPU bottleneck? I thought it was just the GPU can’t handle all the players and models.

Yea, I heard anet design this game around nvidia 9800 gtx to be minimum settings. Things change a lot since then

I don’t know what you mean, 780ti classy is way above 9800, I shouldn’t really have a problem with FPS I think, and I typically don’t, in non-main city area’s i usually get ~ 90-100 fps, but if I got to Lions Arch, even with “number of player models” set to “medium” i get around 40-45 FPS, and it kind of depends on which way I look sometimes.

My CPU is 3570k at 4.2ghz, it’s not really a superior number cruncher today but it’s pretty decent.

I just want to understand what’s happening, my GPU does not boost, so it’s not being pushed to the boost levels, but the FPS is dropping below 60 and still no boost? That part doesn’t make sense, but if you’re saying it’s a CPU bottleneck then I guess it makes sense, the CPU is having problems calculating things (although I can’t imagine what kind of vast calculations are being done when in a main city not even in combat).

Any help?

Hi, I have a 780 ti classy and it’s default clock is 1097, but the boost clock is 1215. Whenever I play GW2, the card never enters boost mode, even when it clearly needs it like in Lion’s Arch with lots of players, or really, any place at all, since I have the card set to maximum performance + single display mode, and unlimited FPS, all vsync disabled (game and npanel). Any ideas why?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the positive support! It would definitely be something to grind and yes it’s impact is so minuscule that someone buying luck would be wasting their money so I don’t think there’s any fear of that

mmm i think skinner box is gems and trading post, magic find would give LwS3 players something to do while they wait

I’d like to see base Magic Find to be able to be pushed beyond 300%, just keep the luck requirements increasing.

I’m returning to GW2 after a long time off, I see there are lots of reasons to return and I generally enjoy the game, but I’ve only really played low level PvE content.

I’m currently at level 62 on a warrior silvari. I’m working through finishing My Story while also clearing zones and getting achievements/chest rewards.

I understand how to play and progress pretty well, but I have really no idea about end game content.

I’m looking for a guild that would be the perfect fit.

I’m not a super active player, but I do plan on trying to play often (daily or semi daily) and making GW2 my main game.

I want to play everything, PvE and PvP + WvW, etc. So if you’re a guild looking for active players and willing to accept someone who hasn’t mastered endgame content then please let me know!

I’m getting the same issue as lots of users in the past where my whole game and PC will black screen and crash.

This only really happens in specific areas like around Lion’s Arch.

I’m running a 780ti and 3570k, and I really don’t have issues with hardware or setup else where.

F.e. Guardians with Staff #3 and “Retreat”, Thiefs with their fancy Signet, etc.

And Flying mounts will never be in this game because of the “zoned” world.

I don’t think that the appeal of mounts is purely in the movement speed boosts. It is also a visual treat. Although there is a lot of GW2 > WoW and GW2 =/= WoW on these forums (personally I don’t understand it, I like and play both) I don’t think that adding mounts will make the game “like WoW”. It simply completes the RPG experience. Even in FF7 we had mounts. It’s just a classic mechanic that needs to be looked into seriously with the intention of added it to the game. Visually, which do you think is more impressive, a hero walking, or a hero riding on a mounted dragon? Which brings the points you raised. If mounts are discussed so often then clearly there is a high demand for them. The “zoned” aspect of the game can be handled just fine, once again, I’m not saying GW2 =WoW, but WoW handled flying mounts beautifully, by only allowing flying in high level areas, and then redesigning the zoned areas for flight in the future..

I don’t understand why anyone would have a problem with mounts. They should be present in the game, both ground and flying. And PvE and PvP and WvW, not only that but mounted combat should also be allowed.

I think of it like this. When battles occur, whether in real life or fiction, very rarely do the sides fight “fairly”. So I don’t see this as a “fair” battle issue. So you have some footmen who get slaughtered by a knight on horseback, that should be part of PvP. If the person is good enough to combat while on a mount, allow it to happen.

And I don’t see a P2W issue either. Who cares if someone acquired their gear/level/skills from the store? We all know time = money, so for those who don’t have enough time to put into the game, they just pay some money, for those who don’t have money, put in some time.

All is fair in war. And personally I would love to ride and fly around the world.
