maybe its the new ftp thing going on? there’s tons of people trying to downloading @ once. think of it as a torrent (need more seeds).

I was having trouble launching the game, was downloading at 20kb…I have a 100mb download connection….

- I attempted repair of the game, and eventually just uninstalled it…

I was able to launch correctly all day yesterday. I realized after uninstalling the game that they announced that GW2 was going free to play. I assume there are server side issues going on. I attempted downloading the game to re-install and it is slow as molasses.

So annoyed right now.

I am literally in the same situation. I didn’t know about the F2P. Just decided to log in for the first time in about 5 months. Wasn’t working at all. Uninstalled. Now trying to reinstall and seems I’m wasting my time tonight lol.

I am also experiencing this. I decided to fire up the game after not playing for a while. I can’t even get to the part of the launcher that let’s you put your password and user in. It gets to 3k-5k and I get an error.

I guess it’s only been one evening. I’ll try back again tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be fine at that point.

I gave it an hour, no communication. Chargeback initiated. I can’t be worried about their problems if they aren’t worried about mine.

But, only an hour and you call it quits? Why are so many mmo players now a days so inpatient. If you gave it a couple days with no resolve, I’d understand. Not to sound like a jerk, but we are probably better off not having you in our community.

Its over one day, not one hour. And: almost nowhere info to be found. People are checkin’i’net, firewall, etc, nothing works. A simple message could help, for example.

Did you even read what he wrote? He said “gave it an hour”. Meaning, while yes the issue has been around since yesterday. For him, its only been an hour today.

I can understand your frustration. Trust me, I’m in the same situation as you. But, only an hour and you call it quits? Why are so many mmo players now a days so inpatient. Yep, had this account with toons since release. Have no problem logging into the Launcher or going into the game with an existing character but cannot create a new toon because of “Network Errors”.

I am in the same situation as you. I have 4 characters I can log in with no issues. Cannot create a new character though. Hope it’s resolved soon.

Just be patient. This issue, to my knowledge, hasn’t occurred at all in the one-year history of the game. It’s only been a day. Things are especially complicated by the fact that the new patch is coming in two days.

In any case: be chill, be calm; it’s not like you’re being excluded, ANet’s just taking the time to study a problem they’ve (probably) never encountered.

What are they going to say about an issue they’ve never dealt with before?

Well, it would just be nice to hear from them. I can completely understand where you are coming from, but communication is required. Otherwise, we are in the dark. I am also having the same issue. My wife as well. I hope Anet can fix this today, would be nice to play a bit this weekend.
