I live in the US. For the first half of GW2’s life, I played on an EU server. Truly, the only issue that I had is when I played late into the evening, there weren’t a lot of people online, but first thing in the morning, and in the US early evening, it was pretty nice.
My hours at work changed drastically one day, so I moved to a US server, and it’s good for me. I guest around a lot to play with some friends on other servers, but in general, my server (Jade Quarry) is pretty full most of the time that I am online.
My advice t you is to move IRL first, and get the game up and running, and see if your home server is alive and kicking at the times you will be online before you spend the gems to transfer. If you decide to transfer, Jade Quarry, Blackgate, and Tarnished Coast are the most populated and high-profile that I have seen. JQ and Blackgate are pretty good in WvW as well. TC is the unofficial RP server.
Good luck to you!
Yes, I will do that
Thank you for the server suggestions!
Why do you have to transfer ? If you are only interested in PvE, you could simply guest.
If I could guest that would be great, but I can’t
Also I’m into pve and wvw
I currently play on an EU server but will be moving to America irl. Because of the time difference I am considering to switch to a North American server, but I have heard that even though the server populations are mostly ‘very high’ there aren’t many people around. Is this true? Would it be best to just stay on an EU server? As 1800 gems is a lot.& if so does anyone know if any EU servers have many American players?

Yayyy! Thank you for the help
I have been playing gw2 for a while now and pretty much have every class on level 80. At the moment I live in the UK but will be moving to America to live. I’ve read that you can’t play your EU game oversees and was wondering if I bought an American disk could I still sign in with my game account and play? As it would be a huge waste if I had to start over again, in which I probably will not.
