Just wanted to say thank you to the dev that made this beauty. Combat feels a lot better for me now that I don’t have to use auto target to aim ranged attacks, unlike other combat modes.

Easily beats all the other features combined in my opinion.

Totally unconstructive praise, but figure it’s okay?

In Roy’s defense, it sounds like his primary concern is not the ranger’s ability to boon share on its own, but the ability to have other players cast boons and then share those.

Hopefully he’ll balance it to address that specific concern.

Im not really concerned anymore. Was just just watching a tpvp stream and Jon said that every trait line is getting at least one change, some as much as five. Im sure other stuff will be changed to compensate since they are trying to increase build diversity.

Well… What optimism I have is always tempered by the memory of the infamous Aquaman patch lol

And their track record of build diversity is generally nerfing the kitten out of whatever works currently while giving miniscule buffs to unused specs :/ Here’s to hoping I’m totally wrong.

I was really psyched after seeing what the LS team could do with F&F, so it’s sad to say SoS came as a real disappointment. Overall I’d say if F&F was 85-90, SoS for me would be something like a 60 which is roughly the same as how I’d rate being Trahearne’s kitten in the personal story.

1) Didn’t care about the NPCs so I didn’t care about the story. No memorable NPCs that you can ‘bond’ with like Rox or Braham. The NPCs in F&F also seemed to have more of a story to tell on the whole like when you’d return trinkets to them and things.

2) The dungeon fights were just bad and I also hesitate to call it a dungeon seeing as it’s just a single room.

The single player fight vs Canach was all about using a gimmick that’d been set up to defeat him and not about using a character’s abilities. At no point did I feel threatened either because Canach was incapable of dealing real damage. I just stood there and kept disarming the same mine over and over while popping a heal.

The fight vs Null was focused on the things around him. The main boss was no real threat, it was the mines, the electric balls, and the DPS check auto damage that could kill a player. Think there needs to be a better balance between gimmick and actual fights. Maybe 20% gimmick, 80% actual fighting?

Also having mobs spawn around the entrance/exit of a dungeon without warning is bad design IMO. I had the ‘misfortune’ of going in when the path was clear and assumed it to be then popping out to see a crapload of Karka in my face and even more along my escape path.

3) Southsun as an area is unfun because of mobs focused on taking control away from the player and being HP sponges. The terrain is a pain to traverse because the design allows a player to go off the path easily (jump off, swim), but provides no easy way to get back on it due to elevation. Also having WPs constantly contested due to events makes travel an even greater pain in the kitten .

Hope Living Story team makes more stuff

Just logged in to say I really like what the Living Story team has done.

STORY
The first 2-3(?) arcs were a bit slow pacingwise, but once Rox and Brahm entered the picture things got a whole lot more interesting. I found myself caring more about Rox and her pet devourer than I ever did any of the Destiny Edge members and their petty squabbles.

Even the NPCs that you deliver relics and stuff to seemed to have more interesting things to say than Personal Story NPCs. I actually wanted to learn more as opposed to just hit skip.

Was kinda disappointed there wasn’t more story when I delivered the letter I found in the dungeon lol After the Personal Story’s order arc kicked in, I figured I would just ignore GW2 story, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by what the Living Story team has done

Really enjoyed the cutscene approach that was taken instead of the Personal Story method.

DUNGEONS
Love how the traps you dodge initially are tied into the mob attacks you encounter later. Trash mob fights were fun and refreshing too.

The dialog was pretty funny and I absolutely loved the final boss fight. It was fun without being gimmicky and it was a lot more interesting than the standard 5 on 1 or zerg on 1 formula that gets used elsewhere. Brought back memories of Transformers or some cheesy villain dialog (which is good!).

I hope the Living Story team is in charge of any expansion related stories and future dungeons. Thanks for making this stuff

Rather than trying to get people to do content by making them count towards dailies, please focus on making the content entertaining first and foremost. Datawise you’ll probably see more people engage in underwater combat and keg brawls, but probably not because those things have all of a sudden become fun

From what I’ve seen, our main focus seems to be Fractals and Dungeons. Seen 1 or 2 peeps discuss PvP/W3, but definitely a minority.

In many ways I’d say the guild and the peeps recruited reflect Visaeria. Lots of silliness and sexual innuendo in chat, crazy antics in dungeons (3-4 manning content when members go afk lol), and zerking all the way (both gear and playstyle), but it’s also backed up by knowledge of the game so even the crazy kitten is doable and more importantly, FUN

Oh, and Visaeria is a chick <3 That’s all the reason you need to join us!
