The first major difference between the Mesmer and the ranger is the armor. Most heavy conditions classes are light armored. If you have the abilitie to stunlock them, what you can have as a ranger with shortbow/longbow, you can easily burst them down and prevent them to use to much of their conditions. In combination with for example signet of stone(and the right traits) you have the possibility to ignore all the damage for 6sec + Troll Unguent(which is a high regeneration skill) you normally can compeet with heavy condi classes.

Help me improve my build? Trapper

Hey,

In your build you have some traits focusing on your pet while you mainly are using traps. I would suggest you change this traits to make yourself stronger or your traps. Also I would stick to shortbow/longbow. The cripple, daze/knockback and stealth of the combination of those two weapons should help you keep your ennemies at a distance making you able to place your traps with ease.
Maybe use the trait that ables you to ground target your traps in combinations of the cc-skills of longbow/shortbow.

I’am not a trapper myself but I guess it is easier to use your traps if you have the ability to keep your ennemie away from you

Druid Spirit or Spirit of Nature?

if you are the kind of guy who uses longbow/shortbow/axe as main weapon you may want to use the spirit of Nature.
But you need to know that you spirits if you are in teamfight are very weak and easy to kill. You may not be able to trigger them before they get killed. But if you are sure you want to use Spirit Of Nature I would make sure you have “Nature’s Vengeance(XI)” to at least trigger the spirit once if they die to fast.

TA Aether Path - What could they have done...

The first time is always hard but that does not mean that we have to bring the old ones back. After a while this new path will be as easy as path fwup(with the tree with spiders at the end) in the old TA

Considering that fwup was seriously bugged in it’s last fight, and “easy” only if you used some sick gimmicks, that’s hardly an encouragement.
Most likely after the hype goes down, it will be done about as often as post-bug fwup, though, so i guess we partly agree here.

I know that fwup was bugged at the final boss but it wasn’t before. At the beginning I runned a lot of TA and died a lot against the 3 knight nightmare groups and that was the hard part. I know it’s not the best example of path but I just mean that you can fail at the beginning after the release of a new dungeon but that does not mean we need to blame anet for that. Try and error, everybody will succeed after a while. might be frustrating and discouraging but with friends or guildies you can play with makes it a lot more funny

The oozes part is easier if:

1) you see that CC (pull push etc…conditions will still affect both) affects elemental but not oozes
2) you have one or more mesmers in party

people need first to understand that they need a balanced team before entering a dungeon. People like to play one class but need to adapt to the need of the team

gold grabbing item… you can easily go back to town while the rest of your team stays in a dungeon if you really need to change your treats..and i think people are smart enough to know which treat they need for a dungeon

The oozes part is raging I agree, that part can be make a bit easier by changing the oozes to friendly but that is not a reason to delete the whole dungeon like a lot of people are saying

I’am far from spending my entire life behind my screen. I played this dungeon because I like the challenge of a new dungeon and not because I expect a big fat reward. If you want fat rewards go farm CoF p1 in 10 min but with no challenge.

the new dungeon is there sinds not even a day and everybody is raging and blaming anet to make the dungeon to difficult. I remember when I started to do dungeon runs I would die a lot, even in AC… You need patient, trial and error to make it work in a new dungeon. If you don’t want a bit of a challenge in the new contents go play runescape… I agree the dungeon is hard to do if you don’t have a coordinated groupe and a balanced groupe… but all of this will become better when people learn to do the dungeon. You also need to communicate with your groupe. Try to organize yourself before you enter a area and if you fail don’t rush in it over and over again, it wouldn’t change a kitten thing about the succes of your team.

My friends and I spend 3 hours last night to do the dungeon not becaused we failed a lot but we took our time to discuss our tactics and what we saw during battle and try to adapt our way to play. It takes time but It makes it more enjoyable fot everybody.

Ragequitting and kicking player means only one thing, you don’t have the teamspirit to play this game… this game needs patience and team-communication even with team chat. I did many dungeons with people who told from the start that they were new to a dungeon and I communicated with them. I told them what to do, you are going slower in the dungeon but everybody enjoyes it.

Come on people stop raging about a new dungeon that is brand new, learin to play the dungeon and i will be easier.

I can agree with the fact that some things in the dungeon are really hard to do without the proper team like the oozes. You can’t knocked them back like a normal ennemie but you can fear them. We had to fear them to the end to make sure that the scrubs wouldn’t kill it. Scrubs that can chain immobolize if they are 2 or 3 on the same target. And the fact that you can’t block for the Ooze makes it annoying…

The security room was easy to do if you understands how it works. Even I as ranger good easily get trough the end when I saw the pattern on the floor. I even had to lead the mob to the panel because he wouldn’t switch aggro to my teammates.

I must agree that the final boss is easy to kill but he’s mechanics like his big attack are hard to survive if you can’t tank the damage. As ranger I would die instantly when he was at 25%. We had to do the boss again 2-3 times because we couldn’t get the shield down.

The dungeon in a hole is enjoyable you just need to understand all the mechanics.

I can agree that the rewards are useless…I had no rares, no high tiers materials… Just the gold and achievement points are great.

Karma merchant in the sharkmaw caverns

I went checking the pirate weapon skins again and I came accros a rather hilarious situation.
AT the karma merchant after the pirate jumping puzzle the weapon skins and weapons description don’t match.
As the screenshot attached will tell the skin of the rifle is attached to the description
and states of the harpoon. This is also the case with:

-“Pirate Needler” : The short bow skin")(the same as the longbow skin).

-“Pirate Speargun” : has icon of harpoon, the description of the harpoon gun and the skin of the trident.
-“Pirate Brazier” : has the icone of the trident.

-“Pirate Trident” : has icone of the a staff, the skin of a staffbut had the trident description.

I hope this list helps to get it fixed. It is funny but I don’t think it belongs in the game. I have other screenshots if interested
