Looks like I asked my question in the wrong place… Probably because I couldn’t search properly to see if it’s been asked already.
Here’s the original post. This seems like a pretty basic feature of a forum:
I’ve tried searching the Guild Recruiting forums, and I constantly get no search results. I’ve even tried searching for words that I know are there in subjects and in posts… and still nothing. Is there some trick to making the search work? Or is it just a known problem with these forums?
It’s too bad, because in looking for a guild, I’d really like to search for simple things like the server I’m on, the style of the guild (PVE, PVX, etc.), the atmosphere of the guild (casual, expert, etc.), and so on.
Why doesn't the search work on these forums?

Sadly, my current guild appears to be dormant. It’s too bad, because our group has been around since Guild Wars 1, Factions, but I think most of our group has just moved on…
So, I have two choices:
1) Try to rebuild the guild I’m in (I was a Guild Leader in GW1 for a number of years, and the previous Guild Leader for my current guild put me in charge of my now dormant guild. It has a decent number of upgrades, as well.)
2) Look for another guild to join
I already posted on the Looking for a Guild forum. I thought I would post here as well to see if anyone is interested in helping me reform my current guild.
About me: I have four level 80 characters (ranger, mesmer, ele, guardian), and I’m working on my fifth (thief). I’ve been playing fairly consistently since the start of GW2, but I must admit that I progress slowly. I also played GW1 for many many years and still occasionally go back there. I play most nights starting at 9:30ish EST, but I’d still characterize myself as a casual player… meaning that I probably don’t take the game as seriously as some players do. I primarily play PVE, but I can be talked into WvW sometimes. I’m not a big fan of PVP.
I’d like to be a part of or to lead a smallish, friendly, adult guild. I’m 43 years old, and would prefer playing with other adults, and I worry that I’d feel lost in a guild that’s too big. I’d also like a guild that has a casual atmosphere… no one yelling at me and others if we’re not playing to their standard, yes to people who like to play cooperatively and respectfully in PVE and WvW areas. I’m also not really looking for “help” as many guilds promise, but rather a group of people who want to play the game with and alongside me.
So, if I were to go the rebuilding route, as the guild leader I’d want:
1. A guild of respectful adults (18+)
2. A casual and friendly atmosphere (i.e. not an elite-only guild)
3. A group of people who enjoy exploring and playing the game with others
4. A PVE focus
5. Guild members who understand that everyone has a real life outside the game
6. Guild members who don’t judge other players or have elitist attitudes
7. A group where everyone knows each other and enjoys socializing in game while playing
Anyone interested in a guild like this? If so, let me know. Maybe it’s time to start rebuilding my former guild rather than looking for a new one.
Sadly, my current guild appears to be kaput. It’s too bad, because that group has been around since Guild Wars 1, Factions, but it is what it is…

I’m on the IoJ server… but does that matter anymore with the megaserver system?? I don’t want to pay to transfer, so if it matters maybe I’m looking for an IoJ guild.

So, does such a guild exist? Or if I were to try to create such a guild out of my dormant one, would anyone want to join it?
I think I’m looking for a change.
