I simply so not understand why every kitten dev in the business is not taught rule #1 in game design.
1. Give the player the bloody option to set their FOV as they wish, for the LOVE OF GAWD!
It’s beyond me that this simple issue has to keep being brought up by gamers time and time again!
It’s lazy, it’s stupid, and it’s..LAZY!..Oh and it’s just plain bad game design not to give players some of these simple choices.
It’s 2012 and it’s as if design has gone backwards with the advent of this last console generation.
PC design must move forward. Please listen to your fans.
Thanks.
Thanks, my eyes are very sensitive to picture quality in games.
Screen tearing drives me mad, therefore i always have vsync enabled.
The bloom in this game is also way overdone in my opinion, and simply turning off post processing is a tough option because it turns off more than just bloom, but i wont go into that cause these guys have plenty on their plates atm im sure.
But i sure do wish they could optimize the engine a bit more so we can get steady framerates.
I’m sure they’re working on it. I hope..
My PC consists of.
i7 2600k
gw2 on 256gb ssd
24gb 1866 ddr3 ram
gtx680@1920x1080p
Yes the game mostly runs at 60fps, but it’s so bloody inconsistent, it sutters along in so many area’s it’s distracting to gameplay.
I run with most options on high, sampling on native, vsync enabled, refrsh rate@60hz etc.
This is a beautiful game, but at the same time it’s still a dx9 client and i’d expect a high end pc to crush this thing, but it doesn’t at all.
Pets in this game are completely useless at holding threat.
40 Ranger here and i’m constantly kiting and running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off, the constant kiting in this game has gotten way past old.
The lack of power or the feeling of power has gotten way past old.
Love the game world, but i’m beginning to despise the design under the hood.
I feel like no one ever has a chance to appreciate the beautiful environments in games like wow because of the mounts, I enjoy the feeling of adventure in guild wars when traveling so I vote no.
Since we’re using WoW as a reference yet again, i’ll just say some of my fondest memories in that game were sitting atop my dragon, flying over the beautiful world taking it all in.
I don’t understand your line of thinking, even remotely..
It’s called “choice” folks, choice is a good thing.
Look, if they never put mounts in GW2 i’ll be fine, but would i enjoy the choice? Sure.
And to those claiming it would ruin the waypoint system, i guess having more than one type of apple to choose from in your grocery store completely ruins fruit altogether..gotcha.
Some folks need to elevate their thinking.
I just have to laugh at those who keep using WoW as a reference to literally anything and everything, when almost every mmo ever conceived have offered mounts in their game.
I also love the folks here who get so angry at others who simply “suggest” a possible feature in the game, that they feel the need to insult and attempt to tell them to leave GW2 altogether.
After all, is this not the suggestion forum, or am i mistaken?
Now there’s an intelligent response.
It amazes me how closed minded people are.
It wouldn’t feel right in GW2? Would the saddle cause you chafing?
Honestly, you guild wars folks are an odd bunch.
Mounts would simply be another feature that many folks who’ve played other mmo’s for years would enjoy in this game. Let’s not even speak of the moronic price tag on Waypoints for just getting around in this world.
Choice is good, and the option to obtain and ride a mount instead of running endlessly from place to place would be a welcome addition.
And we all know Anet could create some amazing looking mounts.
Love the game guys, you’ve done a great job with your world.
But this downleveling system is is taking it’s toll not only on me personally, but i’d say most of my guild are growing tired of it.
On one hand it’s a wonderful attempt at allowing one to go to any zone and still have relevance, but on the other hand, i never feel powerful.
I always feel as if im running for my life from mobs half my(true)level and this is not what i play mmo’s for.
I believe i’m not alone feeling like this system is flawed, and i long for my other mmo’s where i feel like my work and progression has earned me the right to feel powerful.
I don’t in GW2.
I don’t have the answers, but i think we would rather have a choice in the matter.
Not sure if Anet is flexible on this or not, but i fear i won’t be sticking around for the long haul id all i ever do when i log into this beautifully crafted world is constantly fight for my life. Not fun.
Thanks.
I’m 33 and i couldn’t agree more. The Ele has issue’s.
And yet It’s always the ub3r dewdz telling us scrubs we need to l2play.
Ok noted, but when i can hop on my war or guardian, wade in and smash 4 mobs 2 levels above me while watching tv inkittenmode, then something is up. Meanwhile attempting to do that on my ele will get me killed. Of course this is after running around like timmy thekitten for 5 minutes trying not to go down.
Sure the Ele plays differently, and im all for diversity in classes and gameplay, but as an ele, the word of the day is PULL ONE and kite yourkitten off. Anything more than 2 at a time and you’d better just keep on running to the next waypoint.
In the end, It’s simply not much fun.
