How long does the War in Kryta plot take? It might be fun to grab some friends to play it with. And I think I read that you can get 2 weapons for that. Think I might be able to trade one of those weapons for another kind for some extra points?
When you obtain order specific gear, do you unlock the skins for all characters on your account, regardless of Order? Further, can you purchase gear of all armor types? Could my Durmond Priory Guardian unlock Durmand Medium Armor for an Order of Whispers Thief?
Second, is there any good way to go about getting more weapons for the Hall of Monuments in GW1? When I found out about the rewards when the game first came out, I tried to expand my list a little bit, but I found the game had died enough that I was unable to expand my collection in any decent way, since trading was impossible, and parties hard to obtain. If there’s any way to try to trade for any 2 of Tormentor/Destroyer/Oppressor weapons, I’d much appreciate it, as that would round me off at rank 20. I never went for those weapons when I played, I prefer weapons nice and simple in appearance. However, I really want Rank 20 for the Focus skin, because I’m tired of wielding Cowbells at people
The power isn’t in the base damage, it’s in the bleeds.
At first, I thought that might be it too, but then I realized that the bleeds were for a shorter duration than the basic attack. In the end, the damage output is on par with a basic attack. It’s usefulness above a basic attack seems to be almost solely in the immobilize. Now, that doesn’t mean it’s a bad attack, just that it’s specialized for something that doesn’t come up outisde of dungeons or PvP. Which unfortunately, isn’t what I’ve been doing, so I don’t really get anything out of it.
I figured it was just a PvP thing. Most control effects in games are balanced around their use in PvP, not PvE.
I do still like the main hand set though, so maybe I’ll use it a bit more with “Bonuses for having high Adreneline” skills and traits once I get them.
So, trying out Warrior, haven’t gotten to level 30 yet, but I’ve tried all the weapons. Easily my favorite class in terms of number of weapons I like.
However, I have mixed feelings about Sword. While I like it’s main hand skill set, it’s Burst seems… bad. It seems that it actually does less damage than the auto-attack, and it’s only real advantage is the immobilize. However, since it also immobilizes you, I’d be better off pulling out a bow or rifle when soloing, and it’s only really useful for keeping melee enemies off of your team-mates.
Am I missing something, or is the Sword Burst just not that good when soloing?
Was about to start a Warrior, and I’m trying to decide on a race. Norn (Female), Char or Asura. Asura in particular seems amusing, but I’m’ not sure how good it would look in practice. Just a small guy doing the same animations as a Norn… I’d rather have the muscles.
However, when I checked some youtube videos, it seems Asuran warriors are very ‘dancy’. Whereas Norn Warriors might make brute-strength strokes, Asura Warriors are incredibly agile (often with weapons that seem two sizes too big for them), fighting like Yoda from Attack of the Clones. Is this the case, or was the video I saw not representative of their combat as a whole? Or, alternatively, are all warriors that energetic?
