Sir Cusfreak.5971

Hi Folks. I’m looking for a 2nd guild to hop into during prime West Coast hours. I’m not on the West Coast. I have a home guild that I’ve been a part of for 6 years, they are family, friends, and “home” to me. BUT – after about 9pm CST (7Pm West Coast hrs) they all log off and go about their lives. I’m still on and ready to play for a few hours at this time, and would love to jump in some teams for fractals, dungeons, SW, LS S2 achievements, or anything else that may be going on.
This means No 100% rep reqs, and understanding that for the hour or two before and the hour after reset, I’m on, but will be repping my long-time family guild. After reset, after Teq, etc, I am looking for people to play with to do other things, because about 8:30 -9pm Central, that guild starts logging off.
I could probably meet a 50% of my game time req, or close. Anyone looking for people during West Coast Prime hours that will be ok with me (and possibly later, my wife) coming to join in activities after first hanging out with our “home” group?
My IGN name is Clinkk. I don’t WvW, so I dont care in the least about servers or home worlds..
Give me a shout.

New precursors still be obtained using RNG?

I hope that the new Precursors can be obtained by drops as well as “the journey”. BUT I must say that if a new precursor is obtained by a drop, or by the forge, it absolutely SHOULD be able to be sold. I like the idea that if I use “the journey” method, it’s mine and mine alone – because I chose that one. But if it’s obtained by drop or forge, and it’s yours and yours alone, that’s not cool. If I got a precursor that was for a legendary I don’t want, and I can’t do anything with it, that would really suck. That’s not fun. I hope they clarify this soon.

iMac Retina 5K for GW2?

OK, so we all know it crashes often on the 5k imac. I have a PC but my wife has been playing on the i7 5k m290x imac, and its crashing pretty consistently at Vinewrath, or any large event. We’re not trying to play at 5k, we know thats not going to happen, and thats ok, but we’d sure like to be able to play and not crash at every large event. Other than bootcamp, I’m not sure what to do. We really don’t want to set up bootcamp. What will make this playable?

How exactly would this be done retroactively? Based on the way the achievements worked there is no way to know if the event proper completed or not.

When you get a full Triple-Trouble event success, you receive a Daily Chest. This is different from The Wurm’s Bronze/Silver/Gold Chests that drop when all three decapitated heads aren’t killed in time. They keep logs of this drop. They could apply the title to anyone who has received this item. They track every step every character makes and which kill of which species was made with which weapon, etc. They know how many kills you made with a longbow yesterday and they know how many people in Lions Arch last night got an endless Green Quaggan Tonic. We know this for sure, and they absolutely could tell, if they tried, who has succeeded this event. Every move you make, every step you take, every vow you break – they be watchin’ you.

I’d buy it immediately and without hesitation. There might be a bit of animation adjustment to make, but I don’t care if my Charr, who now looks like an Asura or a Human or a Norn goes to cast a Charr racial skill and the animation becomes…idk, fireball, or healing spring or tome of wrath or whatever they decide to throw in there- who cares as long as I don’t have to look like a Charr anymore. Please make this. Can I pre-pay for it?

None of these are really good reasons not to retro the title, though. The thing is there are lots of times I’ve been in full support of title & achievement changes, and if I could just log in this evening and go get the Wurm kill, I would agree with this one 100% – and in fact, I do agree with this change, it’s a good change…one that should also be retroactive, though. The people arguing that it shouldn’t aren’t even affected by the change one way or another. Right now, the Wurm event isn’t even being done by the people who do it. And the LS is in the way of getting maps. Maybe, somewhere down the line, we can get it again, though we can’t right now. Fine…but that doesn’t mean this shouldn’t be retro’d right now. In any case, I came to express my opinion, and I have, but “you can just do it again” isn’t a very good argument and I would bet noone who this actually affects would feel that way about it. Only people it doesn’t. I hope that the people who matter in deciding this will at least look at it and consider what we’re asking for and why. A bunch of Devs were in our runs, and in our TS, and know exactly what a lot of us were doing for many hours at a time . Maybe they will at least think on it. The data is there. There’s no real reason not to.

I posted my displeasure with the title change last night, and I’ve thought a lot about it since then. I figure there are, maybe, idk…1000 players this affected (who succeeded the Triple Threat event fully before this patch). Maybe not quite that many, maybe a few more, but the point is, in the overall scheme, not many…however many it is, definitely less than 1500, I believe (based on 150 people per kill, there havent been very many kills, and of those, many were the same people.) But for those players, it didn’t feel good. Anyway, it’s not that big a deal, but I really felt like – they have the data to track who has been awarded that chest, I know they do – and they could have retro-acted the title. It may not be a large number of people affected, but those people earned it. Honestly, it wasn’t easy. We put in some hours, ya’ll. I can pretty much guarantee every single one of those people saw that title change and went ’ “hey…wait. I did that…that sucks” and that’s never a good way to make your players feel, especially those who go the extra miles for things. I don’t want any confusion as to what exactly my problem is with it – I am glad they changed the title. I really am. I’m glad there’s a distinction between “I’ve killed all three heads” and “I’ve been a part of a successful Triple-Kill”, I think that’s a good distinction, and personally I’ve done both things. And we talked about in Teamspeak, even, how we wished there was this title. My problem is “You did it once, you can do it again” is pretty ugly, and tbh that isn’t even really very accurate right now. I mean, the players who did this want to be doing new patches. We worked our kittens off racing to 1st kill, and guess what, we want to get 1st highest score on this LA fight too, hell, maybe 1st reclaim LA! Maybe 1st full win of the LA event, who knows…and the next patch we want 1st Scarlett Kill, and the next 1st New Dragon kill, or whatever…not going back over hours-long achievements we already did…and with so many people in Bloodtide for LA gating right now…Wurm isn’t even happening like it was. So “You can just do it again” just doesn’t feel right to me. Am I raging? Of kitten course not. But am I disappointed that they decided to give some recognition to players succeeding one of the most complicated and coordinated events in the game but didn’t consider the players that did it to begin with…yep. It didn’t feel good, and I wanted to say so. So, I ask…please retro the title. I’m certain you can, right? I feel like you should, that’s all. If you don’t, I will probably (eventually) go back and get it again. But we really shouldnt have to.
Thanks

I have to fully agree – but worse than that, the players on Deso, on BG, and in TTS who had already gotten the sucessful runs, these players did all the work, and yeah, hours upon hours working on strats, working on developing plans, what works, what doesn’t, and got it beforehand, these players dont have the title, but someone who jumps in on a new run does. I was there for the first time a worm head was decapitated, I was there when we discovered there was a phase 2. I was there the first time a worm flopped around, and after 2 weeks solid of spending 8-10hrs at a time in the same OF with TTS, I was there for their first success (I already had my title at that point, because for those 2 weeks I did nothing else.) Now – we weren’t doing it for titles or money or reward, we were doing it because we wanted first kill (didnt make it but thats ok, we still got a lot of firsts) but we did succeed killing it (without pulling it out of the arena, btw – 1st run was clean) and it’s like “oh well, here, now the strats are made and these guys can show everyone else how, lets toss titles to everyone who jumps in from here on out” urgh. Why? I’ll have the title before long, but, people who have done it should already. And yeah, if you aren’t at a worm that goes down, you shouldnt get anything for others in the zone killing it. Bad change, imho. But oh well, they knew we’d feel this way and changed it anyway, because more people won’t feel this way. Thats business, but still gonna say how I feel about it. EDIT: I don’t even mind chnages to title, but there were a lot of us who worked hard at that, and I know they can tell how many male humans killed how many Orrian Horrors with a Longbow on any given day, because I remember seeing the charts – it bugs me they didn’t retro this to the people that got successful runs prior to the change, because I think they could have. Thats my main gripe.

Guesting is Coming

If there really are technical limitations on guesting – then don’t add it. The current form of guesting is damaging to a decent sized portion of the player base they built over the years. The current build of the game is better right now than it will be post-patch. It’s a bad addition. If they can’t guest cross-region, then they shouldn’t region-lock. Period. If you are one of the people who will benefit from this “feature” then great, but you will not benefit enough to justify the damage international guilds will take. What they are doing to every guild with cross region members is just plain horrible. They should either rescind the guesting feature entirely, or make cross region transfers stay free like they are, and only charge for inter-region transfers, or otherwise come up with a solution that doesn’t do this to guilds who are using cross-region transfers to play together occasionally now. It’s wrong. This isn’t something they should be doing to guilds.

Cross-region transfers do not affect WvW. The guesting in inter-region servers is the intended use of the feature, and also wouldn’t be affected by a free cross-region transfer. The only real purpose of cross-region transfers is people playing with their friends and guildmates – no one is playing alone or manipulating WvW cross region. They shouldn’t charge for that.

Today ANET made a post that describes some upcoming “features and improvements” but they weren’t specific when letting me know if splitting our guild was considered a feature or an improvement. I was really curious.
Because today I also read a post made by one of our guild’s oldest allies – six years, almost seven now we’ve been playing together, one of the core of our group – about how the choice has been laid before her: choose a server to play with her family, or one to play with her guild/allies. She didn’t say whether she thought it was a feature, but I kinda got the feeling that, like myself and many, many others, she wasn’t looking at it as an improvement.

Sir Cusfreak.5971

I would like to officially apologize to ANET. I was wrong, and when I’m wrong I say so.

I stated repeatedly that the new guesting system would prohibit our guild’s NA and EU players from being able to play together, and that isn’t true, of course.

ANET has given us choices. They’ve given us an option to choose which 1/2 of their players we’d prefer to separate from. And we have an option to pay a fee to play with anyone at all. So if we want to play with our NA friends today and our EU friends next week, we can. It costs, but so would going out to dinner or drinks together or gathering a group for a concert, right?

If I didn’t play with my guildies anymore, it’s not because ANET wouldn’t provide a way for me to, it’s my choice to pay or not pay the transfer fee every so often. The option is there.

No one should be saying that ANET kept them from being able to play with any other GW2 player on any server. The option is available. It’s just not free anymore. They are allowed to charge a fee for any service they provide, right down to a log-in toll or charge-per-click if they wanted to. That’s their choice.

So, I’m sorry my statements were inaccurate.

But I will say I think ANET chose poorly, because out of all the many choices we can make once they separate our guild’s members’ accounts, paying the server transfer fee – that isn’t one we’re going to make. I doubt many will, but I could be wrong.

My opinions of this update haven’t changed in the slightest; it’s still the worst patch I would have ever imagined and it’s still doing far more damage than benefit, none of that has changed, but I’ll be sure to word things more carefully in the future – others here should as well. Don’t say that ANET won’t let you play with your friends, make sure to be clear that they provide you the choice to play with either group, and you can always pay to change to the other group any time.

An idea for making cross region guesting work

in Suggestions

Posted by: Sir Cusfreak.5971

Sir Cusfreak.5971

Here’s how it could work.

Create a new field on an account, lets call it ‘loyalty’ On logging in after the patch you are asked to choose a WvW server you are loyal to. This loyal field would not change even if you moved servers.
If you change to another server and its not your loyal one you cant enter WvW or indeed see the map.
If you want to change loyalty that will cost you gems, and have the same restrictions as now.

I like the idea a lot. And ANET could still make money from it. I’d pay to see this implemented, for example, and people would likely change loyalty more often in this scenario than they are likely to change servers with the guesting feature as it’s described now.
This, or something like it, could actually save the international community.
I doubt they will limit gathering in any case, but thats so much less important than splitting the regions for good.

A toggle off feature would still be useless, because people would just decide not to add anyone they couldn’t inspect first (anyone remember ‘show stones’? )
Inspection is no good, I’d hate to see it added, even with a toggle off option. It’s bad. Wanna see the weapon, check Dulfy or the Wiki or the PvP locker. Wanna see what I have? Ask.

Not sure if sarcasm… >_>
It’s pretty clear the intended purpose of guesting is simply “play with friends”. The splitting up of international guilds, and this increase in access to resource nodes and treasure chests, are just side-effects.
I recall some people screaming “exploit” when they realized others had repeated the karka event multiple times via overflows. Server-hopping to farm other treasure chests, albeit less lucrative, is practically the same thing.
As for resource nodes, we’re basically going to see a doubling/tripling in supply without a corresponding change to demand.
It’s not hard to see the potential impact these can have on the market, but it’s not for me to decide if these are acceptable or not, hence my request for official clarifications.

Yes my response is sarcasm. Sort of. To be honest, I actually thought your question was sarcasm as well. I apologize. (really.)
As for the real intended purpose of guesting being ability to play with friends…I think it probably was at one point, originally, but this iteration fails at that so spectacularly that I just can’t imagine how anyone could think this version would accomplish that goal. I can’t see it being ‘pretty clear’ as the intention, because it doesn’t do that. I don’t consider them splitting my guild as a side effect - that’s an effect. If there was some other, larger effect that was also happening, then it would be, but there’s not. No one gains the ability to play Guild Wars 2 with anyone they can’t play with today. But a lot of people now have entire servers full of people they can never play with again. So while I worded my response in a fairly sarcastic manner – every word is true, from my perspective. I honestly do see this and added gatherings as intended effects – they know exactly what they’re adding.

EDIT: The ‘loyalty’ idea is a very, very good one, Shan.
I doubt they will limit gathering in any iteration of guesting, but who cares? When talking about the important stuff like the complete elimination of anything that could even be called ‘international community’, if Johnny Joe wants to swing a pickaxe on 3 worlds a day, great. Enjoy your Ori, Johnny. Johnny Joe wants to kill Jormag nine times a day. Neat. Have fun, Johnny.
Loyalty is a very good idea. Yes, ANET should definitely look into and do some research on Loyalty – btw, ya’ll can quote me on THAT anywhere

Would like some clarifications on appropriate/acceptable use of guesting.
1) Guesting to harvest resource nodes that normally have 1-day cooldown. Since we’re allowed to guest on 2 worlds a day (which I assume it’s on top of our homeworld), this is effectively tripling (or at least doubling) the number of T6 resources I can gather a day. Is this OK?
2) Guesting to farm dragon/chest events. These normally have very long cooldowns, but with guesting and appropriate timing, the number of times I can access these events in a day are increased. Is this OK?

Server-hopping for extra gatherings & extra dragon chests, and dividing the international guilds look to me like the entire two intended purposes of the gusting feature. These are the inherent design features, so they must be the primary uses meant. If there’s any other benefit anyone could gain from it remains to be seen, though it is doubtful. Hope this helps.

I think a lot of players would be satisfied by several readily-available options, the first being – please don’t implement this iteration of guesting. Take it back. “Ok, we thought we had a cool toy that would build community and add a feature that would benefit our game – turns out that helping the regional communities, it damages the international community in a way we don’t want, so until we can manage a different way to do that, we apologize for the false-alarm, and we’ve rescinded this decision.” That is an incredibly respectable approach. No one is losing out big if they move fairly quickly. (sorry, but regional servers can already play together, being able to do DEs together isn’t that big. It’s just not.)
Letting one group of players benefit from a feature that another group doesn’t benefit from is fine. Harming one group so another can benefit in a way they don’t even need? That’s not.
Otherwise, assuming they’re not willing to do that, then any of the suggestions that allow ANY form of international play without paying to permanently switch home worlds would fix the problem we have. (international servers de-coupled from WvW, cross-server play for instances only, some other network solution, whatever – we’ll take it. Not gonna be picky about it.)
But putting in this version of guesting is damaging to every guild with members cross-region, and it’s not right.

“For those of you whining about this… do you have any idea how much it costs to keep servers synced between continents? No you dont its readily apperant from your posting. You also dont seem to realise its not simply a matter of sending the data from one data center to the other, not do you seem to realise the issues with global routing, peering of tier 3 networks, BGP and several other issues that crop up when you try to do this globally. Ya all sound like spoiled kids. wha wha I could do this in GW1.. well GW1 isnt GW2 you assume they work the same network wise but they dont.”

Ok. You’ve pointed out the things you think we don’t realize. Allow me to return the favor, as I believe there are a couple things you don’t realize as well. (one being if you’re going to use big words, use spell-check too. Its built-in for Kittens sake.)

I’m part of an international alliance that have been playing together for SIX YEARS. We’re friends. We play this game together. We have 8 guilds. Each and every guild has members from across the globe; no exceptions – no guild from only one country or one region. We have members from the US, Canada, France, England, Germany, Hungary, Turkey, Trinidad and more. One of my friends, an Officer in our guild for years now, is in Hungary. Sometimes, he will transfer to NA server for a day or two, we’ll do some dungeons, he’ll go back to EU server. The lag is too bad to stay permanently. After the 28th, we can’t even do that without a fee. (twice. Lag still included.) This is just one small example of how this implementation is going to negatively impact just one group in one guild in one alliance.
There are many more who are far, far better off with things as they are today, then they will be after this update. All thoughts of “Fixing” aside – guesting, as it’s described now, will be worse than no guesting at all. Any guild who has cross-region members are losing. We’re not just not gaining – we’re taking a very nasty hit. Do not expect anyone in the international community to be glad about this. They’ve basically eliminated our alliance – which we were willing to try to work around, but splitting my guild is not something I’m going to appreciate in the slightest. Do I sound ungrateful? GOOD. I AM. I’m Very KITTEN ungrateful for it. So for now, our friends will gather on a server, and we will have an “ANET Basically Screwed Us” party with a guild banquet table and some fireworks. Then everyone can go back to their home worlds where the game is playable and watch them build the walls that keep us from continuing to play together and then maybe we’ll sit and ponder and consider how we sure did sound like spoiled children.

“We know how important community play is” – Colin, blog post
“We have 4 teams worth of people ready for this mission, so everyone meet in international and we’ll race!” Our alliance, back in the GW1 days.
“We know you’re disappointed…” – Martin, this thread
“Why in the LOLCATPICTURE can we not get opening quotation marks that face the right way?” –Me, right now

No…I was -disappointed- that after playing in an alliance of guilds for 6 years – a large and fully international alliance who almost wholly followed the game through to the sequel – we didn’t even warrant a simple alliance chat channel like we had in the original. That is pretty disappointing.
The words I use to describe how I feel about the rift and split they caused inside my guild with regional walls would need a lot of Free To Good Home signs if I tried to use them in this fluffy place. The fact that they “know I’m disappointed” isn’t really making me feel any better about it. The fact that they would release a statement one day that says “We know how important community play is” but don’t have even the most basic support for our communities and then do this the next day is pretty insulting to some of us.
If we couldn’t play together anymore, we should have been told that. But that’s in the past and isn’t helping now.
What will help now? What can we expect going forward?
They can claim that international play isn’t possible or feasible, (and I can hold my opinion that it sounds like a kitten dropped by a male cow to me and I can flat out say “I do not believe you.”) I do believe international play is possible – I do it in other games. Some of us played on some German BF3 servers with no more inconvenience than a bit longer load screen and definitely didn’t have enough lag problems to keep us from getting plenty of headshots, but whatever, I’m not here to discuss the difference between GW1 International districts and German BF3 servers and GW2 renown hearts. They’ve shown us that international play is feasible in instanced play – that is something at least. So – let us only do Dungeons and Fractals and Personal Story instances. There are instances in the game, instanced play is possible internationally, the conclusion to this sentence isn’t a real large leap in logical progression…

But what I’m seeing here is people say that it’s a false-entitlement QQ. Really? Should we not expect the company that gave us these great tools to create our guild and our community of guilds and the game we played for years and built friendships through, to give ANY sort of continuing support to that group? Any at all? Because it doesn’t really feel that unreasonable to me. Ok, so they’ve come upon some limits…but you cannot expect anyone to believe an alliance chat channel is beyond feasible, or that any international play is impossible.

I sincerely do not see the point of this being implemented when it’s not ready yet. We could already play with people from any NA server. We could dungeon together, we could FotM together, we just couldn’t WvW together…and we still can’t. I have several friends on EU servers isolated from the rest of our guild, and we’ve been waiting anxiously for the guesting, so we could play together on a regular basis. Now we can’t, and we’ll be even LESS able to play together after this “fix” then we can today. Before this, we could at least transfer for a day or two every so often. The lag is too bad to be able to stay permanently, but it was bearable for short terms. This is supposed to build community and strengthen guilds. Ok, so it doesn’t help us. But…honestly, who is this helping? If you have friends on a different server in the same region, then the only thing you will be able to do on Jan 29th that you can’t do today is…grind out the renown hearts or watch vistas or whatever together. If thats what you’re into, great, but I think more people group up for dungeons and fractals, so most groups aren’t gaining anything with this, but our guild, and any other guild with EU and NA members are actually losing an ability we do have now – because every so often some of us would swap servers for 24hrs so we can team up to do dungeons and fractals, but now we’re just cut off from each other completely unless we want to pay? Forgive me me for raining on this parade, but my guild just took a nasty hit. I would feel better about it if I felt like, say, most of the rest of the game was getting a benefit we just happen to not benefit from, but I honestly and sincerely do not feel like anyone gained anything substantial enough to warrant them severing the already strained ties they imposed on our guild to begin with. I get they’re trying to add good things to the game. I want them to do what they can to add good things to the game. But this isn’t it, and any guild with split membership is guaranteed to be disappointed. And for no reason good enough to justify doing this to us.

I'm looking for just the right guild for me.

We’re a 150-ish member guild and I would guess at the very least 90% being over age 25, and I would be pretty surprised to find out even half are under 30. We have several couples/pairs and there are some RL family ties amongst a few people as well. We keep a 30’ radius of drama-free zone at all times. We have a good time. We have an excellent group of people and zero BS.

Honestly, we have stopped heavily recruiting for right now because we’re pretty happy with our group size, but we are still keeping our eyes out for folks who we think may be like-minded or fit well with us.

If I’ve caught your attention at all, you can see our main recruitment post for a little more info:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/Alchemy-Incorporated-AI-is-recruiting-on-Sorrows-Furnace-and-Gunnars-Hold/first#post103769

Feel free to give us a shout if you like. If not, best of luck and hopefully you find a good home guild.

Happy Hunting

+1 for this. Better group interface for WvW would be a huge improvement to the game. If we can’t get a commander-type group, even gold dots for guild members, like parties have blue dots and allies have green would be a big help. But 5man parties in WvW just aren’t enough for that format.

I don’t know if we’d be a good match for you guys or not, but we might be. We’re at about 110 members right now, so I don’t know if we count as small/medium.
We have a lot of fun, and we’re a bit silly at times, but we have a good time. We have groups forming for dungeons, random map clearing, pure chaos, and WvW on a very regular basis, and even a little sPvP.
Many of our members are US Central Time, but we have some EU players and some from both coasts as well. We tell people we’re trying to add members in various time zones to diversify so they dont catch on that we’re expanding our influence to eventually take over the world.

Anyway, if you’re interested, you can see our guild recruitment post here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/Alchemy-Incorporated-AI-is-recruiting-on-Sorrows-Furnace-and-Gunnars-Hold/first#post526517

or check out our website at www.alchemyincorporated.net. Give us a shout if you’d like to get some folks together to play a bit and see if AI might be the spot for you guys. We’re always looking to add fun people.

We are again looking for a few fun people to join our ranks.
On a side note, we’re also looking for information about who keeps buttering the guild bank. Yes, you read that correctly.
Anyway, if you aren’t a member yet we don’t expect you to know who this heinous offender is, I only mention it so you understand what you’re walking into, because when you’re dealing with the kinds of people who would do something like that, it’s best to be prepared. For anything.

If (a) you find the thought of completely buttering a perfectly good guild bank funny, or (b) you snickered, or you’re still snickering, because I used the word heinous, then you’re in the wrong place. You should be on our forums instead.

This is mine.
This is an armor mix.
The Mask & Gloves are HoM, the chest & legs are crafted, the boots are another set, and the shoulders another (there’s two different shoulders in these shots, I like both, and sometimes use either.)

Grave, you cant tell em that! There’s gonna be a ton of seriousness, just piled up, all willy-nilly, right outside the door for anyone to trip over. Someone could break their neck. We have drunks, you know.
OK. here at AI, we’re not your mother, you have to clean up your own crap, alright? No littering the walkways or the doorsteps unless its with corpses.
And someone keeps putting Soiled Rags in the guild bank. C’mon.

But really, we’re growing quickly and you know what they say, “The Moor Will Marry Her.”
I don’t know why they say that, it makes no sense. But they do.
So, yeah.
Hit us up for an invite.

The devs have glaringly omitted a function that allows us to earn a living IRL while playing (seriously, someone needs to address this, ANET. Get to it. This whole ‘have to earn a living IRL’ is crap, and it’s totally cutting into my play time, and really ruining my game experience. FIX IT NAO!)
But, until they do something about it, several of us are going to have to keep going to work. Its not fair, and they should have warned us about this before launch. But it’s true anyway. As soon as this work crap is done today, I’ll get you an invite.

Gmornin’

My wife & I went to go clear Lornar’s last night, and it seems most events there were not working, across the map.

There was a stuck Dolyak Escort quest, the NPC and Dolyak are just hanging out in the road, not moving or being attacked. There is a mining camp that is supposed to be being attacked by waves of Skritt, but where there should have been 7 waves, the last two never appeared, but the townsfolk were all still in ‘in combat’ mode – wont speak or trade, cowering down. An hour and a half later they were still this way. There is a skill point next to the Point of Interest “Mettes” that would not do anything, which was widely being discussed in local chat. There is a pirate camp (Suwash – HA! made me laugh) where a champion/world event (big orange horned skull icon) pirate is supposed to spawn. The pirate was dead, but the event was not registering as completed, or restarting. When approaching, the ‘New Event Nearby’ would flash, the description of the event would come up, but the health bar was empty and the pirate was laying dead in the middle of the camp with the big orange skull over her head. Her body never disappeared like it should have.
We were in Lornar’s for probably two hours, and none of these events registered as completed or restarted their chains, or changed at all. When we decided to go find another map, we did a pass back through the places we had been. The miners were still cowering, stuck on ‘Skritt wave 5’ when we left, as they were when we came in. The Dolyak was still in the same spot (still showing New Event Nearby when we approached them again) and the pirate was still dead, not disappearing.
So we went to the Hinterlands. In this map, any time she and I would get more than radar range (blue dots outside the visible area of our compass maps) away from each other, it was like being in a split party, or with someone in overflow. Her character’s face would disappear from my party window, and her blue dot would either disappear completely from my compass map, or would appear in some random area half the world map away. When we would walk back to the same spot, we would ‘rejoin’ each other. (We have side-by-side computers on one long desk, we can see each other’s screens) Also when we would ping a spot on the map, (shift-click) or draw directions, the other person could not see them. This happened whether we were showing up together or not; those functions just weren’t working in Hinterlands at all.
