Guild Wars 2

I was about half way down my ‘what Anet should focus on’ rant, trying to cover all points to avoid being insulted and belittled by everyone following me, when I realized I couldn’t.

What Guild Wars 2 is really like is a bad relationship; to almost all of us we stick with the game knowing its flaws and being unhappy but never leave because of the time invested.

Many of us hope the game will get better and suggest, even plead with the developers to fix the bugs, restore the dungeons and wvw and just generally polish the game. Instead they unwittingly march it to the slaughter while they focus most of their effort into the gem store, it is as if they have given up on making things better and now just ride us for all we are worth.

I too hope that the game will improve when I know it never will. I always think if only I (or someone else with real priorities and common sense) were in charge of making the decisions I could fix the game (or my issues with it at least) within a few months. Me and my (good relationship) partner both talk over and over again about how we could turn everything around for this game – we would mainly do this by making players happy rather then ‘iterating’ all the time with their ‘creative collaborative initiative’.

Honestly they put themselves on such a high pedestal with so much managerial jargon talk that they seem to forget that game polish, bug fixes and player happiness should always come first, instead they seem to only make the game worse by offering yet more and more bugged content as if that will fix all of their problems.

It seems simple to you or me, if you make customers happy you get more customers, more customers is more money and since the new customers are also happy you get even more customers and so on – mmo’s are all about word of mouth and right now I cannot recommend this game to anyone other then people looking for a bad time loving and hating a product that slowly gets worse.

The most recent ‘what, really?’ moment to me was the very high amount of money given to the pvp tournament winners that could have been spent hiring talent to fix and polish the game, I even think people would volunteer their time to fix things if they just let them.

To go back to my relationship reference, just like a relationship you don’t want to think badly of it, right now I am insulting your partner, and you want to defend them because you feel like you should… almost like defending them makes them think better of you and that they will start treating you with respect, but they wont of course, they enjoy that you defend them no matter how badly they treat you and take it as read they can continue.

Some people will trick themselves into thinking that this ‘relationship’ is fine and nothing is wrong with it, and attack anyone who thinks otherwise.

Of course if anyone truly thinks this game is flawless you either are not playing much or you seem to not understand what a great game really is.

I’m not leaving the game, I don’t hate the game, I just hate how it never gets any better and just keeps getting worse.

These are my opinions and if you don’t like them don’t respond – not because I hate criticism but because if you want this to go away not posting on it will make it fade into the forum mists of time.

I have very few things left in the game that I can do for fun but I just had to put it on the forums where it will be ignored, because I sort of boil with the issue a little bit each day.

Ask yourself, when this relationship ends, will it be a happy ending or one of regret?

Hey all I haven’t seen a money (gems) off sale in months (for account upgrades) and would like to know if more are coming or what – I know the company wont go into details about when sales are coming but I cant help but ask.

I have been waiting over half a year for character slots to come on sale in the gem store and I have no indication if it will ever happen, that’s all I have to say really – if you have been waiting for a sale post a reply saying what you want and how long you have been waiting, maybe we will get a response

Hey all I cant go 5 mins without my screen showing ‘texture’ blackouts making it very difficult to play through.

This has only just started happening to me, see attached

If Anet tells me to take this down because set prices are wrong that’s fine I will, but I can’t work for tips or donations because some people pay too little and some people pay too much and I always feel uneasy about that in one way or another.

Set prices ensure people know what they are getting before we start and limits any bad feelings (guilt for not paying enough / pressure to pay more / regret they paid too much) people may have.

If people don’t want the service that’s fine, maybe someone will be cheaper (not in my experience with jp’s). My prices are negotiable the set prices are more like the ‘asking price’ so to speak, so people know what to expect. Its an in game service for in game gold, I don’t ask for real money or gem store purchases and I try to make it cheap compared to what I have seen others charge (20g for scavengers chasm, ahhh).

Sure some mesmers will portal a few jp’s for free, and map completion can be done solo – I’m here for people who want it fast and with very little effort, I have seen people selling jp portals for 3g short and 10g long and thought my prices would be better.

Feel free to say how easy these things are for you but remember some people (most in my experience) who cant stand to do jp’s or map completion. My partner who has way more ap then me and is great at the game cant bear to do jumping puzzles and cant read maps well. She gave me the idea to do this for others :-)

For someone bad at jp’s/maps I could save them hours of frustration but its only if they want them, I just try to be patient and nice and make my prices as low as I can personally, there is wiggle room on the prices too.

If I get anything official I will take it down but I see a lot of other people offering in game services for in game gold so I assumed it was ok, thanks for your post though

So hello everyone, I am offering ‘expert’ help with map completion and porting jumping puzzles on request – I try to make my prices as small as I can while still being worth my time not farming. I have done map completion over 50 times and know Tyria like the back of my hand, I would like to help anyone who hates it or would like to take the easy way round.

I know the fastest routes, the best way to complete hearts and can portal any vista. I can back you up with one of any 50 builds of varied firepower to make tougher combat easy, I also have plenty of thieves to stealth you through bits to save you time in Orr (like with a contested Balthazar plaza or Melandru commune).

I also know all the jumping puzzles very well back from offering that service with the lfg, most of them I can have ready within 5 mins of the request.

I have no idea how popular this service may be so here’s a little info on my availability, I play for most of the day or have an alt logged in a lot of the time who I check messages on frequently – naturally I go to sleep but I don’t really have set hours I usually progress an hour or two onto the 24 hour clock so if I’m never online for your time frame check on me in a week or so and I’ll be online then ;-)

Anyway here’s the most important part the prices;

Whole map (any) includes any jumping puzzles within the map – 15g

Whole Town map (if lions arch and want the 3 jps it’s 4g) 2g

Small jumping puzzles – 1g

Large jumping puzzles – 3g

If you’re unsure what counts as what just tell me what you want in game and I’ll be sure to let you know what it falls under – I think my prices are very low compared to others I have seen but I am doing this more as a means of helping people than making money.

As I say I have 50 alts so it’s difficult for me to say which one of my alts you can pm but adding my account in game is probably the best way – if for any reason it won’t find my account here are some of my alts names;

Hey all wondered if anyone was doing any guild missions today (Sunday 23) before the reset, my guild canceled the missions at the last moment and I wouldn’t want to miss out on my commendations…

My old email company just canceled all accounts and I have one week to get everything sorted out – made a new email account and switched everything except my anet account, I went into account details and there’s nothing that lets me change my email, how do I do it?

Yes I am having this problem too, I was going to sell some things and make a new character – but oh no neither work any more, that’s just great.

I have said it before and will keep saying it they need to stop bringing out new content and fix the current content to the point where it doesn’t break and keep breaking whenever someone coughs on the servers. They have the staff they are all just busy on pointless new content and putting more things in the store.

I’m trying my best to enjoy this game after a year but the game keeps shoving me away from it with stuff like this.

I can top the op, me and my wife currently have 15 characters with 100% map completion, I have done one more but deleted him and remade for another look… all of them have t 3 armor or dungeon gear of some type and we just play a lot – screenie with my claim too :-P

It must be update time! This problem crops up a lot around update time where European players playing on american servers (there are lots of us) cant join dungeons, or at least have to wiggle, rejoin, guest and cuss our way into them…

Well its coming back again shock. I haven’t seen any official word on this problem even though there are a lot of posts on it… it seems to never be addressed but after the update has been out for a while it calms down and the problem seems to be fixed, only problem is it doesn’t stay fixed and then the posts to the bug section start pouring in and get promptly ignored.

Maybe its just tonight but I thought I would post this and see if anyone else is having major issues joining a dungeon like I am having (also my partner)

I know it doesnt have as high a power as zerker or as much support as a heal bot but it looks like it would be fun to play and I dont think I would let dungeon mates down with it, if it has any major flaws let me know – thanks

heh, I made a rant on this topic while you posted this – yes count me and my wife all in for having this problem

A lot of people playing from Europe in American severs and vice versa cant enter dungeons any more without incredible luck, we always had problems but simply re logging, rejoining the party or guesting usually solved it – but now it doesn’t.

This is breaking the game for us, and there’s a lot of us with this, many people have put up these posts but everything is being ignored, if you anet devs are aware of this, please respond to us I feel like no one is looking into this.

Furthermore I cant do a lot of the new achievements that you would rather work on instead of bug fixing, now personally I don’t care about the new content, but I want to do it for the points and its very hard to do that when I cant enter any dungeon (or fractals) no matter how hard I try.

I would like to vote for one npc that forgets making new content and tries to make the current content playable, optimizes the game and adds more options to style of play (easy, medium and hard dungeons – the ability to do dungeons as 2, 3 or 4 instead of enforcing 5).

That was a rant I know, no one likes hearing a rant but sometimes you cant stop yourself ranting when these problems persist in the dark. Please just let us know your going to look into it, we cant play…

My idea behind it is to have high damage and high health (because I make mistakes) so I can charge in and deal lots of pain through dropping wells and auto attacking so I can read the enemies attacks and dodge easier, the staff is for utility but mainly as a fall back weapon if I’m out of alternatives .

I should say that I’m pve only and never intend to bring this into pvp or wvw, I want to know if this will be any good in dungeons like fractals or if I will be snubbed for carrying a dagger and not being a conditionmancer.

Any advise is welcome other then L2P as not everyone is a pro, the elites and utilites can change dependent on the situation but the stats are what I really need the good or crud on, thanks all

Couldn’t agree more, I cant play any dungeons any more because of this issue

Me and my wife are having this problem all the time now, its making playing such a chore to constantly be doing our own ‘bug fixing’ by rejoining, guesting and re logging to try and make it work, only lately even that isn’t working… I now cannot enter any dungeons AT ALL.

We really don’t know what to do we need Anet to say they will fix this but they wont say anything – we need a bug fix on this really badly!

I agree there should be a worthwhile reason to fight them, god knows without a handy zerg there’s no incentive to fight them, as other events give better and faster exp, gold and karma. So count me all in, currently I ignore 99% of champions.

Yeah I would love this armor in pve as well, I cant believe it isn’t in the game, I just bought a character select spot and made a ranger just to wear this and its incredibly disappointing to now see you cant get it… I had no idea it wouldn’t be in the real game, why isn’t it?

So many people would like it in the game, add it to an armor vendor or make it craft able, you can put it at the end of a jp, I don’t mind as long as I can get it.

I would just love to wear it… you already have the armor there and ready, can you please make it available? Hardly any work has to go into this :-/

Hi Bastien welcome to guild wars, it seems english players around 6pm onwards are all having huge lag problems, no official word from Anet on the subject yet so I don’t really know what to say.

I play this game with my partner and any other time is fine (also used to be fine at this time ALL the time before the new update) its just 6pm – 12am (midnight) I see the lag and throw my hands up in the air and say that’s my guild wars for the day… I’m sure they will fix the issues so don’t lose faith in the game, but hey what a bad time to start huh? ^^

Yet another day where 6:30pm (GMT) the game has become massively laggy, well yet again I’m going to play CnC 4 for 6 hours until it passes.

This needs some looking into, can we get a dev to say they are aware of it? Good thing I got all my dailies done early on purpose huh? :-D

Same with my and my partner in England, cant play it – its unplayable, the lag is horrid and I cant even run forwards without crashing… normally its fine its always 6pm on wards.

Every now and then it looks like its actually working so I go to get my wvw dailies done then uh oh a fight happens and it freezes with a crash afterwards, armor repairs needed!

Guess I need to wait for 11pm to run around and get all my dailies done as quick as possible :-(

Well the situation has been resolved, I actually got circle of the moon sent to me from the support team, they were very nice to do it but they need to give a strong warning so this doesn’t happen to others.

I’m sure I’m not the only one to make this very easy to make mistake, they made an exception for me but told me they would not normally do such a thing.

Hey all I know this wont do any good but I feel pretty cheated and let down so I have to post this, I just saved up enough laurels and badges of honor to buy 2 ascended rings – I wanted 2 of the same rings and had no idea I couldn’t equip them both like I can any other ring in the game, it didn’t come with a warning on them and I didn’t know to ask all over the internet to find out if there would be a problem with getting two of the same type… why would I?

I don’t go into fractals and the laurels + badges are hard to get for me so this is a huge problem for my character, there’s no warning and no exchange – the only thing I saw about the ring that was different to any other was the word ‘unique’ but I thought that was because it was an ascended item and it was there for show or something.

I’m sure a lot of you think its my fault but this really sucks, I know about the soul bound and account bound things but never heard of unique being such a show stopper, I submitted a ticket explaining what happened and hope some good will come of it so we will see :-/

Hey all, heres the deal – me and the wife want to transfer to american servers for guild/language reasons only we don’t know how slow its going to be, we have a slow connection at our home, under 1mbps (they say its distance to the exchange) but manage guild wars 2 just fine on European servers with youtube vids/radio in the background.

We want to guest to test this out but of course you cant and we don’t want to use 1000 gems trying to find out – so we can only ask here how you think it will go. Oh and we are in England if it helps.

I would love to join, I can roll any character but a guardian, all level 80 with exotics – I havent done a successful arah run yet but I learn fast and take orders well, I also have patience and dont talk down to people. Thats all I can sum up drop me a pm (in game Vordus)

Hey all, I have tried for a long time now to get some help with the arah dungeon (any path I just want the armor). Of course all the help with this thing seems to be in america and I cant seem to get any.

I tried with PUG’s at first but of course it was a big failure every time, I tried joining a dungeon guild but every one shy’s away from arah and the only ones that do it… are in america.

I could go on but hey thats not really what Im trying to do, thing is Im trying again today on the forums to get a party together, lfg.com is just another pick up group and I see people all the time in the forums saying things are far too easy, so show me how easy this dungeon is so I know your not all just blowing smoke lol.

I have level 80s of every profession in exotics (apart from guardian) and listen/take orders well. I can be patient and really, really want to do this dungeon at some time in my life, thats all I have to say, I’ll be on all day and checking throughout to see responses

Well I’m not trying to be mean here or anything but I’m not on the american servers and cant join that guild.

Also we HATE quaggans – they are fat, useless piles of blubber that complain far too much, they aren’t remotely ‘cute’ and all I want to do with them is feed them into a big sharp fan :-D

Well to be honest its more for the arah dungeon – we mainly keep to ourselves in our own guild (love and rum) but we find it impossible to do arah with pick up groups…

Anywho we have a level 80 of every profession and can take up alot of roles within a team, we take orders really well and are fairly seasoned gamers – we normaly would just be doing pve map clearance during the day but doing maybe one run a night or whatever of arah would be great.

Oh for the sake of cof carvings we take all our characters through cof p1 once a day for max carvings with the least effort but even there the pick up groups are driving us crazy – and thats an easy run :-O

Oh and we are in Europe, I dont care which server your on after that point, dungeons are dungeons.

I realize this is alot to ask for but hey if you dont ask you just end up cussing pick up groups forever (not actualy out loud to them), thanks all

Hey all I was doing the super adventure box thing with some people and when we reached the frog king everyone gave up after a few deaths, I was the only one left trying to do it and after a few more deaths I left the team via a ‘leave party’ click…

Problem is now my camera is stuck thinking I’m still in the boss battle, which is annoying enough in the boss battle, I have tried different characters and even doing the fire elemental to reset the ‘boss camera’ but nothing is working, I cant play like this :-/

Hi all, maybe this suggestion has been made but I would really like the option to dye weapons – in guild wars 1 we could to some extent… it wasn’t perfect but it was great to make weapons make that bit better. To suit armor and fit with your characters a little dye nudge would be great (it would also make greater demand for dye packs anet!). Please give it a thought ^^

Hey all you people who are looking, me and my wife are looking for a guild to go on dungeon runs with – we will be honest with you, we are both loners and normally stay in our own guild, made just for us for bank space and giggles (love and rum) but we need people to do dungeons with.

We are fairly good players I would say… though we excel at taking down monsters on monster hunter better then guild wars 2, the one dungeon that seems permanently out of reach is the arah dungeon, but I learn very fast and have alot of level 80’s in exotics so I want to give it a shot or two.

We would stay in our own guild most of the time but hey if we like the guild we may perma rep, we are in Seafarer’s rest but we don’t mind joining another servers guild (europe)

So many people saying its too hard, so many beating their drums and saying its too easy – honestly why cant we have normal and silly people ‘hard’ mode?

Give less tokens in normal so the gear is still hard to acquire and let everyone be happy, well not everyone – some trolls still complain and will insist this fair compromise is all wrong…

Please nay sayers, lets come to some sort of understanding and hope Anet will realize they can make this dungeon fun AND challenging, the content is there – it just needs a little difficulty adjuster. Oh and story mode doesn’t count as normal mode, it just doesn’t.

I’m not sure if this should be here or in the dungeons but it really should fall under helping players as that’s exactly what I need, Arah dungeon destroys newcomers and I cant get in an experienced group due to lack of experience, can anyone help?

I listen and can take orders no problem, I have several level 80 characters with exotic gear so can do lots of roles – I’m playing all night so drop me a pm or respond here, I’m in European servers.

I would really like someone who knows the dungeon well to take me for a run or two, the Arah dungeon has defeated me in a pick up group a few times and I would really like to do it properly…

I have a few full exotic characters and should be able to cover what you need, I learn fast, listen and I’m not pushy. Any help would be great but please don’t recruit me into just another PUG, thanks :-D

I would also love a toggle for this kit, auto attacks on the nades works great underwater (the only class I like underwater) but it isn’t overpowered, so why not give us the option on land?

I am aware it wouldn’t always hit fast moving targets but that’s why it should be optional, if I had 3 arms so I could move, aim and fire the right grenades it wouldn’t be a problem, I can do it all now but its very difficult and so awkward to pull off for hours of game play time – or maybe I’m just not hardcore enough.

In short, people like options… also pushing buttons and seeing explosions :-D

The new changes made to the dungeons (or the ones I go in) have made them much harder, of course I know theres so many of you that brag about being able to speed clear it with no armor and a stick of celery as a weapon (yeah right, show us your video) but you all have to remember most parties are made up of pugs, pugs make mistakes and pugs dont work perfectly as a team because they all just met each other…

The simple truth is you should please both crowds at once like you did in guild wars 1 by having a hard mode for dungeons, normal mode for fun and hard mode for the ‘no armor with a stick of celery’ people, this is obviously a much better way of thinking. By the way I found gw1 hard mode dungeons no where near as hard as gw2 dungeons are now and would delight in doing them, problem?

If you ask me yes how hard does it have to be? Besides you had heros in gw1 and that was the fun part – not everyone loves to team up with other people in a VERY stressful over hard dungeon just because you want the nice armor or weapons and thats the bottom line, I wouldnt do these if I didnt want the gear because its not fun… please dont ignore this request, please do somthing about it – they are not fun!

And now, for your pleasure, the people who think everything is too easy to tell me that Im just a noob and they do it no problem without a team and blah blah blah
