You realize when you are mousing over the speed up, it tells you how much influence it needs? It’s very clear how much it will cost and how much it will upgrade it by.
We where all a bit jumpy at the idea of guild missions which was something we where waiting for for a while. I had been under the impression that it would be reasonable at around 10,000 influence for a speed up like most of the other ones have been previously.
Well, I’m not sure if this is a bug, or not intended. With this new patch released we wanted to get right into the action and start doing some guild missions. We amassed almost 300,000 influence over the coarse of a few months. We started researching and speed it up 3 times not knowing that it was 75,000!!!!!!! (WTF are you thinking) for 25% a pop. I noticed after we had speed it up and quickly moved to cancel it thinking it would refund all of it. Sadly that’s not the case and I am deeply embarrassed and ashamed that all of our guilds hard work got wasted in less then 5 mins. I desperately hope that t his can be reversed, the upgrade resumed at the speed up state, or at the very least a warning placed saying that speeding up an upgrade will not be refundable.
I think we have a lot of what you’re going to be looking for. We’re a laid back pvx guild that loves doing everything within the game. We run events pretty much every night that you can tag along for. The Tyrian Unity was established day one in Guild Wars 2 with a small group of friends looking to enjoy the game to its fullest. With the mind set to become a WvWvW oriented guild, we decided to quickly burn through the PvE content. We soon found that we were able to clear the once highly popular path 2 CoF in 10 to 12 minutes. This made us really sought after, and helped expand our player base at an alarming rate. We soon realized that we wanted to be more PvX oriented and started to focus on expanding both with hardcore WvWvWers, and PvE players. We still to this day make WvWvW our primary guild focus, however we realize that with new content being rolled out, and the game always changing, being a PvX focused guild we will have the capabilities and flexibility to enjoy this great game anyway we like.

110% Representation (We personally dislike the guild system that GW2 has launched with, and we feel like it won’t create a “Guild like / Family like” attitude. Therefore we ask you only represent our guild.)
Cooperation and attendance (Event attendance is not mandatory, however with that lax rule in place, we ask that you at least try to attend some of our events and WvWvW pushes. It creates stronger guild bonds and actually shows that you’re wanting and willing to be a part of our guild.)
