Aside from our usual recruitment details, we are looking to fill a few specific raid slots – Condition DPS and Tank, primarily. At least some progress on Ascended gear is required, and you should try to have your Elite Spec available. These are by no means the only players we are looking with, but the roles that are most needed at this moment in time. The Overgrown is a PvX/RP friendly guild based primarily on the Tarnished Coast server (but accepting of members from all servers.)
As a guild, we focus on enjoyment of the game in all aspects. We welcome anyone into the guild, no matter their goals in the game, as long as they are respectful to the goals and play styles others. We welcome non-RPers as openly as we do those who only RP, as we have found that guilds that grow inside the game as a whole, rather than a single aspect of it, are much better off and form a much stronger community. You are never required to role play as a member of The Overgrown.
Our guild is smaller than many, but our community is large and far reaching. Overgrown Gaming is collection of gamers from many backgrounds and games who enjoy playing and discussing their chosen games with others. Our Discord server is always filled with people playing a number of different games, but Guild Wars 2 is our home, and it’s the game that brought as all together.
Overgrown Gaming is a guild made up of people looking to clear content in an efficient manner, but not a guild of super hardcore players requiring new members to have multiple classes fully geared and ready to go. We will certainly accept players of this caliber for our more hardcore raid and fractal groups, but we will just as quickly accept players with just one or two favorite classes (or even those just starting out in the game) who are looking for a close knit community like that which our guild has created. We are strong believers in quality over quantity, and you’ll find that our guild is full of inside jokes and fun times to balance out exhausting runs of hardcore content. We do tabletop and board game nights, play games on Steam together, host movie nights, and other fun events whenever we can!
While we do not organize many regular RP events, many of us do role play in GW2 on a regular basis. While some call The Overgrown their RP home, we intend for our guild to exist more as a networking and RP friendly environment than a serious RP guild. That means that if you are interested in RP, whether as a veteran or as someone just looking to learn the ropes, you can join the guild without having to align your character(s) to a specific cause or faction – our players have created characters from all different backgrounds, so you’re bound to find more than one person that will mesh with your RP style and stories.
That being said, the main branch of our guild, ICly, is a group with a heavy cult-like attitude towards the Sylvari and their relation to the Elder Dragon Mordremoth. The group is brought together by Mordremoth’s call, but each individual has their own motives that affect exactly how they answer it. If you do not want to RP Mordrem Sylvari but still wish to join us for RP networking and the like, that is perfectly fine! Just let us know somewhere in the application that your character will not be becoming Mordrem.
Unless you’re looking to join one of our regular raid teams, there are no serious requirements. We don’t have a heavy repping requirement, but we hope you will show up once in a while and be active in chat and at events. Using our voice server is required, as you might miss out on announcements and things without it. However, speaking is not required unless you plan to start raiding in one of the more hardcore groups – if you’d prefer to just listen, that is totally fine!
