Fractals Reward Revamp Suggestion

Im not to worried about rewards. I think if the daily achieves are rewarding enough then the incentive to do other fractals will be enough.

However I am very concerned about progression. Please do not allow players to progress by getting carried on an easy high fractal. Players should be required to do each scale to progress to the next. Skipping out scales should halt your progress.

This is probably a good idea, but they biggest concern would be that this would make it extremely difficult for new players to progress. For example, let’s say fractal lvl 64 is abnormally hard and not worth the rewards. Good luck convincing a party to take you along so you can progress, because nobody will want to deal with that Fractal again.

Maybe require players to beat at least 5 different fractals for each 10 level range to progress to the next tier, that way they can’t just spam the same easy one each day.

Fractals Reward Revamp Suggestion

The problem is, no matter how hard Arenanet tries to balance fractals to provide greater rewards for harder/lengthier fractals , the community will find the few fractals that are easiest to farm/the most rewarding for their time.

This already happens with dungeons, with lengthier paths being mostly abandoned except for fun, due to the reward not scaling enough. Generally people run the easiet 5-10 dailies each day, and it becomes a daily grind.

Arenanet should build a system that dynamically changes the rewards based on regional popularity. For example, if 90% of the fractals completed in the 50-60 range in the past 48 hours is fractal 53, and only 0.1% of fractals completed are fractal 51, fractal 53 would provide significantly greater rewards than 51.

This would be done relatively(each fractal relative to the others in its range percentage wise), so that potential surges in player population/fractal popularity as a whole won’t throw the system off

This means that you’re always encouraged to take on unique adventures. Instead of avoiding fractal 56 because it’s Dredge Fractal with a BS instability, you may try to group together and take it down, because it has 10x the reward of 52, which is Swamp with an easy instability.

And if the reward difference ends up too high, players will run it and bring it back down, until equilibrium is reached. There would be minimums and maximums(to prevent certain fractals becoming worthless, or a borderline impossible fractal from inflating the economy with mats(ie a fractal goes unbeaten for 2 months, you wouldn’t want someone to get 50,000 gold and crash the market because the system got out of hand).

This would really help keep GW2 fresh and exciting. it would keep all content relevant, and encourage players to try out the dozens of fractal combinations available, in addition to rewarding the best of the best.

That would be glorious, but I’d also like it to come with some sort of selection option so that you could turn on / off certain minis from the rotation.

I have a number of minis that I have only because they were given to me for free from LS events that I don’t really care to ever use.

I’d love this, but even the randomized finishers doesn’t have this, so I wouldn’t expect them to add it to this unless they add it to finishers too.

Basically, make it so it picks a random mini from your collection when you load into a map-it changes whenever you log in or switch maps.

We have randomized finishers(picks a random one each time you use it on someone), now can we have randomized minis? It would be great and would reward loyal players that bought a huge collection of minis that want a way to show them off/have variety.

Why start the event at noon, when many are at work/school? Wouldn’t it be better to start the event in the evening so most of us can be online to witness the start? I think 5 pm PST/8pm EST would be much more convenient for most.

Why do you not WvW?

The repair costs, and I can’t stand the elitists. If you aren’t in a major WvW guild or you aren’t doing exactly as the WvW guild leaders want you to do, people will harass you endlessly with offensive language and other forms of rage.

Trial event

So I have a friend I plan on inviting for the trial event, but I have a few questions that I couldn’t find the answers to anywhere

1. What limitiations are placed on trial accounts? Are they allowed in WvW/guilds/sPvP? WvW is one of the things I think my friend would be most interested it.

2. Upon receiving the invite, can he start downloading right away?

3. Is the player you invite automatically placed on the server you’re on? Mines always full and I’m rather worried about being able to play with him.

4. Will his account from the trial carry over if he decides to buy the game?

Thanks for your help in advance
